  1. Good article which highlights some of the other, what appear to be continuing, issues with the club.

Don't want anyone here who isn't 100% committed to the task in hand, and whilst under "normal" circumstances Butcher might appeal to me he's involved in stuff which he isn't going to be able to drop overnight and we can't afford to be waiting or messing around for a few weeks while he has one eye on ICT and one eye on other stuff.

I was having a late breakfast/early lunch and wondering when I was going to get a call to go to work when I got a text. Scrambled to the computer and saw nothing of it....had that "too good to be true" thought and decided to wait before getting excited and went back to my coffee. Then got another text, came online and it was official and it felt like a huge weight had been lifted. P.S. Still waiting on that call to go to work
  4. A double break!!!! Ouch. Speedy recovery young man.
  5. Don't worry, Caley100 got ample abuse for his sucking up to Traynor. What I want to know is, is their any truth that he (Caley100) set the interview as his ringtone?

I too had heard the "Pre-contracts not worth the paper they are written on" statements and if you scour the net you can find it mentioned all over the place, but there's nothing that I can find which backs up the statement. Looking at a couple of cases which have been handled by FIFA it has basically come down to whether or not the agreement contains the "essentialia negotii" (elements required for a contract to be considered valid). In short, if Black has signed something which says he will go to Hearts at X time for Y Salary and Z length of time then it is legally binding.

Johnboy, I'm not going to sit here and heap false praise/sympathy on the guy just because he's been given the boot...I may be many things, but a hypocrite isn't one of them. As I said, I feel no sympathy. He did more harm than good in the end and ICT means more to me than the feelings of this one man. He is a part of our History now, and with that comes the good memories...unfortunately these are currently outweighed by the bad. As a Player....I was glad to have seen him in an ICT Shirt. As a Manager....I'm glad to see the back of him. As a Person....I have no real affinity with him and he is now nothing more than another man in the street. Craig Brewster is in the past and I don't care where he goes from here. If he finds another club and does well, then good on him, if he drops off the face of the earth, I'll lose no sleep. Some might see that as harsh, but that's just the way it is.

I can't go so far as offering any sympathy, he's hung on too long when things were obviously going from bad to worse for me to be able to afford him that. However, I hold no ill feeling or personal grudge against the man.

I'm not so certain the club do have any specific in mind at this moment and have been caught with their pants down by trying to be clever over it. Here's my theory. They had Pressley lined up and..... Brewster would have been gone after the Rangers game, but Sutherland (Tulloch) would not allow it as it would have looked like he was bowing to fan pressure. They decided to postpone till after the cup match...a poor perfromance or loss giving them the ideal excuse, but that didn't happen. Pressley got fed up waiting and went to Falkirk. Performance against Hamilton left the club with no choice, all excuses had been used up and they could no longer find any straws to clutch at. I also don't think Brewster's comments in the Herald article will have helped (note the line where he as good as says the club can't afford to sack him, that would have p!ssed Sutherland off) and then his post match interview where he demonstrated more than ever that he's lost the plot. News breaks today that Brewster has been sacked and the club have gone to ground....no press conference and nobody making themselves available for further comment (as at this moment). These are not the signs of a club who have any kind of plan as to where they are heading in terms of a replacement. Getting back to the original question, Robbo would be my choice. He knows the club, he's a man who's passionate about ICT, he'll reinstall some fight into the time, he's available, he's local, he's expereinced and although not everyone's first choice he doesn't have (many) fans running screaming for the door and would help in mending the problems that have developed between club and the support. If other candidates crop up then I'm more than willing to see everyone given due consideration, but I find it hard to think of anyone who will tick more of the boxes than Robbo does.

  12. Got the News earlier today but had one of those "too good to be true" moments and didn't believe the board were capable after everything they've said and done of late. Whilst I see this as a positive step in the right direction, there's still a lot to be done, and that starts with the appointment of a suitable replacement. Whilst I don't think fans should be dictating to the Board, they need to realise that there's a job to be done in repairing the bad feeling in that dept and whoever they appointment could go a long way towards taking care of that.....or not!!!
  13. Let's keep it on topic and if you have a problem with a post, use the Report function and leave it to the Moderators to take care of issues.
  14. I'm upset....There I was sitting in Chambers yesterday with loads of pies and chips and I even put my football top on and Renegade never showed.
  15. Can you guys take any personal issues you might have to PM. Thanks.
  16. People go into these jobs with eyes wide open and know that a change of manager can all too often result in a change of backroom staff....an occupational hazard.
  17. As said above it really was "handbags" stuff. A few lads started "Brew must go" chants in the first half and others were of the opinion that it wasn't the time to be getting on Brewsters back and we should continue to concentrate on urging the team towards pulling something back from the game. I was sitting slightly down from the exchange of words, but I was in agreement with those who told the lads it wasn't the time for their shouts. In saying that, as the game rolled on and it was obvious nothing positive was being done from the bench to change anything then I slipped more towards the side of those doing the shouting and at the end of the game was even one of the ones shouting for Brewster to go. So, I don't think it was so much "Pro-Brewster" fans supporting him as fans who felt it wasn't the right time to be shouting for Brewster Out in the first half. Also worth pointing out that despite the "Brewster Out" chants at the end the fans still broke off to acknowledge Imrie, Munro and Esson who'd made a point of coming over after the FT whistle to applaud the fans for doing their part.
  18. A poor game made even worse by the weather and the officiating, but a poor game all the same. The fact that neither team registered a short on target from open play pretty much says it all for those who couldn't make it. Going to write a match "day" report to accompany the match report, so I'll go into more detail on my thoughts and feelings on things there.
  19. The only parking they have at the stadium is for match/club officials and disabled, so it looks like it's street parking only.

Don't think the football part of the forum is the place to be arguing the politics behind the flag (there's a thread on Anything Goes, Serious Topics for that). The discussion here is about whether or not the club have the right, or should be intervening with people who bring a flag in to the game. It's not about what the flag stands for, or is deemed to stand for, it's about a persons right to Freedom of Expression (within the confines of the law). Also, where do you draw the line on offensive? Should ICT Flags and Scarves be banned because they might offend/antagonise the opposition? For those who say the club were in the right simply because they do not agree with the person involved, I'd say you better be careful for what you wish for. You never know the day when you may feel so strongly about something that you want to wave a flag or banner and if you're told you can't because someone else dislikes it, then you nobody to blame but yourself.
  21. Am I missing something on that link?
  22. I dont think he is injured... so yes, i would be very surprised if he wasnt in the squad... would you not be??? Nothing would surprise me at the moment!!!
  23. You're assuming Duncan is in the squad for tomorrow.

You may be right Scotty. Don't know if anyone has ever done any statistics on ex-players, but they seemed to be cropping up all over the shop during the highlights from last weekends cup games. Could be some very interesting Trivia to be gleaned from this topic.....such as when was the last weekend of full fixtures where an ex-ICT player failed to score? (I don't know the answer and it may have been a fortnight ago, but interesting all the same).

My biggest worry is that Alex has always said he'd buy the club if he won the lottery...could you imagine the effect of his money on that scale?
