Most people buy a season ticket for one of two reasons... 1. Less hassle on matchdays and are gauranteed a regular seat. 2. Save themselves some money over a season. #1 is a no brainer and I can't see these people having any issue with a "Free Ticket" incentive till the end of the season. Those who fall into #2 will have no cause to complain unless the deduction of the "free tickets" would make the season ticket a more expensive option. A standard childs season ticket in the North Stand costs £80 representing a saving of around 70% (based on 18 home games at £15). So in order for a kids season ticket in this area to become a more expensive option the club would have to let kids in free for 13 home games. For the Family area it is approx 50% saving which equates to 9 free home games. For the Main Stand it is approx 65% saving which equates to 12 free home games. I really can't see where you would have any reason to complain that your kids season ticket would not still represent good value for money if the club were to offer free entry for kids till the end of the season. OK, so the saving will not be as big as you had expected, but it is a saving all the same which is part of the incentive of a season ticket. For the record I do not have a kids season ticket - I have a sneaky suspicion I would struggle to convince the turnstyle operator that I was under 16 stone, never mind 16 years of age :015:

Playing Devil's Advocate here, but if the Club and Fans are generally happy with the job CC is doing as manager, but feel we need changes/improvements in order to bring in and attract a higher caliber of player/prospect then should we be looking to replace Grassa with someone of a "higher profile" in the game who has the contacts to make this happen?

Also agree with Suspicous Mind about better Marketing the cheap kids season tickets. The overall strategy/approach needs looking at, not individual points. No idea what your average computer/console game offers these days in terms of "hours of playability" but a season ticket offers 27 hours (based on 18 home games) - so not entirely sure the "better value than a PS game" argument stacks up, but the gist of the point is valid enough.

As much as we all crave "news from the dressing room" and like to get our teeth into a good rumour about the goings on at the club, their are boundaries and whoever leaked this 'story' has crossed the line IMO. I would imagine it was one of the players who was singled out looking for a little payback and since they were unwilling to attach their name to the story or offer up a direct quote then they are nothing but a coward and a Judas in my book. Life has a habit of providing payback of it's own and I hope whoever it was gets their comeuppance.

I don't think it's a case of CC "being allowed" to continue - the specualtion has stemmed from comments he made himself and not from any lack of confidence being shown by the club or the fans (as a whole). Lets not forget that the CC Doom and Gloom merchants are still in the minority and their has been more converts from the anti-cc camp to the pro-cc camp over the season than have moved in the other direction, despite what some may think. At times the forum may seem full of negative comments about CC, but it's mostly the same few people spouting the same tired old lines time and time again. I fully expect the usual "Your a member of the CC appreciation society and can't see the truth because of your blinkered views" response from those I refer too....they just can't resist.

Totally agree with that, which is why it MUST be repeated. However, the club also need to see what we on here see in regards to the cost being prohibitive - aswell as getting kids into the habit of attending, they need to lower kids prices to keep them coming back. I know that our kids season tickets are already among the cheapest in the SPL, but perhaps a small reduction for those who buy now for next season may capture a few of these kids (and the adults they dragged along). I would also like to see the initiative carried over to the first couple of games next season for the same reasons. Far too often these things are done with no real positive end result - they drop the idea and those who came just don't come next time. We need to give them a reason/incentive to keep coming back.

The entire rant is based on a "What If" that is unlikely to happen. Damned if they do, Damned if they don't. At the end of the day you could afford to buy your child a season ticket and it is money in the clubs pocket to spend on improving things. Many of the kids there on a freebie may not be so fortunate and got a free day out, do you really grudge them that?

According to an article in the Sunday Mail CC is quoted as saying he has show too much loyalty to some of the players and that it's time for the duds to go. It wasn't a huge article but he commented on having money available during the transfer window and not using it instead deciding to place faith in the squad we had, he as good as admits that was a mistake and then basically goes on to say that the axe will be wielded big style in the summer.

I'm sure the fans were giving as good as they were getting.

I don't buy the he's just "unlucky" line in the slightest. You reap what you sew and if he is getting a hard time from officials then it's because his reputation precedes him. Not saying it's right or that I agree with it, but that's the way it is and he is the one responsible for the reputation he has got himself - nobody else. Also, if you play hard and tackle hard then you have to take the punishment when it goes wrong. Again, nothing to do with being "unlucky" and if he wants to reduce the bookings he is picking up here then he needs to work on his timing. It's called accountability and I think it's one of the biggest lessons Black has yet to learn. He's plying his trade at the top level in this country and being paid a decent wage for doing it so he can't hide behind the "young lad learning his trade" line for much longer IMO. At the moment his "wet behind the ears" antics are only just being outweighed by what he does bring to the team, time for him to grow up and mature a little as a player instead of hunting for excuses, only then will we see the best he has to offer. I guess that's the frustrating thing in all of this, we can see the potential and even the results when he keeps his head straight, yet it is being spoiled by moments of madness in nearly every game he plays. His reputation with officials won't disappear overnight, but these guys aren't all the b@stards we like to make them out to be. They too will realise he's young and a bit rough around the edges in regards to his attitude, some may even think they are doing him a favour by being so tough on him, but if he shows he's making the effort then I'm sure they'll ease off on the overzealous bookings.

The shirt throwing incident really irked me and at the time if he had never appeared for us again I wouldn't have been too bothered. However, you have to realise the guys is talented and although it can't be used to excuse his behaviour CC and the caoching team have to try and work out a way to redirect his energy into his game, if they can do that then he has the makings of an all time great player IMO. He's shown some improvements and perhaps this extended suspension will serve as another tough lesson for him. Some of his bookings may come as a result of his reputation, thats just life, what he needs to do though is get out of the officials faces, pick himself up and walk away. "On the Ball" fouls and cards you can learn to accept, but he should be getting hammered by CC for anything involving dissent and unsporting behaviour from here on in. I think back to when Jaunjo started with us and his eagerness to fall over. He got a hard time from the fans about it, no doubt words were had with him by the manager and other players as well. He started using his "flare" to turn players inside out instead of looking for penalties and free-kicks. He was a far better player for it and hopefully the same will happen with Black.

My long weekend off so I've decided to make the trip. Travelling by train with a group of mates and making a day of it.

2 points for a single goal win after 90 minutes and 3 points for winning by more than a single goal. That will encourage teams to actually go out and attack and make the game entertaining and get rid of this "sit back and defend a 1 goal lead" crap.

Think you have misread what I typed earlier...... He was never offered such a contract at the time. What he requested was ONE year longer than the offer on the table. He felt this would have been long enough for him to justify moving up here on a more permanent basis and ICT would have had first dibs on him as a player if he was still playing beyond that. IMO the club were extremely short sighted in not giving him the extra year and by the time it came round to the January Transfer window any offer they were making had lost 6 months of "appeal" to Dods as he'd just spent that time travelling up and down the road. In short it wasn't Dods who was showing a lack of commitment to the club, it was the club showing a lack of commitment to him. Not only do I think he has another good 2 or 3 seasons left as a player but he would have been a valuable addition to our coaching staff as he is held in high regard by the rest of the squad and leads by (good) example both on and off the park.

:015: Your first comment is not only proposterous it has no basis on fact - i.e. it's BS (just my opinion mind, I'm sure you have no problems dealing with opinions other than your own) And if suggesting Dods is the one to have slapped ICT in the face isn't paramount to saying he is being disloyal, then what exactly is it you are trying to say? Yes, Caff has stuck around whilst not getting a game, but lets face it, other clubs haven't exactly been breaking down the door to sign him from us - and lets not forget he too has been getting paid from the club and has been doing far less than many other players to earn his wage. It really is hard to buy that kind of loyalty!!!

Dods gave more to this club than he ever promised to do. When he came here the club were aware of his personal circumstances. He then made an offer to the club that he would commit the remainder of his playing career to us and move his family up here if they would offer him one year more than what they had put on the table and the club refused. So please don't give me any BS about Dods having in anyway been disloyal in agreeing the deal he did to move to Dundee United.

Something about that picture screams "Photoshop Job" to me. Not saying it didn't happen or they didn't make the gesture, but I would put money on the photo being altered to.... a) increase the number of offenders...some of them just stand out a bit too much and look a bit crisp around the edges compared to the rest of the pic. b) add Nakamura to the pic - take a look at the linesman who is standing closer to the camera but appears to be about a foot shorter - the proportions just don't look right.
