  1. Some would argue that when your at a match then you are in "appropriate company". Football grounds used to be one of the few areas people could go on a Saturday to get away from all the overly PC bull they have to put up with for the other 6 days of the week. It was a release, a chance to let off some steam without having to look over your shoulder or worry about upsetting the person next to you. As for the kids, if more parents took the approach that Heilandee does then kids would be better prepared for the "Big Bad World" - Many of societies problems today can, IMO, be traced back to parents trying to hide their kids away from the "nastier" things in life instead of educating them and teaching them how to deal with it. As a kid, I knew that if my parents swore in public that it was wrong (it was only acceptable for adults) and I wasn't to repeat it. I remember once, after I swore on the bus, telling my mother that I was now in double figures (age wise) - I got no argument on the bus, but I was met with "double figures" of the belt when I got home :015:
  2. Oh Pleaseeeeeeee. You really should stay off the HRT as it's making you over emotional and prone to reading far more into whats being said than is really there.
  3. Surely "Going down in the box" is a perfectly hetrosexual comment???
  4. Salvatore Lucchini has been found guilty of robbing a bank and will not be able to play for some time. Luckily the team has a skilled lawyer who managed to get the sentence reduced substantially.
  5. Doesn't have to be dropped from the starting XI, but thats not to say that where the game allows he can't be hooked in order to give Caff longer spells on the pitch. Also, if we get our pre-season preperations right then that should give Caff (assuming he is to be Dods replacement) ample opportunity to be part of the squad and gel with the rest of the back four (asuming we stick with a back four for next season). As well as being a solid player for us Dods is also an inspiration to many of the lads in the team. When it was announced that he had signed a pre-contract I could see the merits in the argument for dropping him but he has shown us that would have been totally unjustified by continuing to give his all since. He is showing the lads in the team that look up to him that you can and should continue to give everything to the team paying your wages and who's badge is on the front of your shirt - a quality that is slowly dieing out in modern day players. Some players would be moving on to their new club and leaving a sour taste in the mouth of the fans they were leaving behind, but I think Dods will move on having gained just a bit more respect from the ICT fans for the way he has conducted himself in the whole affair. In short, he has earned the right to represent the ICT badge until the end of the season. To hook him now would be a slap in the face for everything he has given to us in his time here.
  6. It would appear that many of them are turning in to a right bunch of 'Nancy Boys' - what ever happened to the days of growing a thick skin and answering your critics by sticking the ball in the back of the net to silence them.
  7. I could never understand how the law worked on this one. Nothing wrong with being gay, so their should be nothing wrong with being called gay. Surely it's those who take objection to being called gay that are being offensive, their very actions set them aside as someone who sees being gay as something derogatory.
  8. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3-2
  9. Nearly as embarassing as them relying on the supporters to raise the £3000 needed to buy it!!!
  10. I'd be more interested if he knew how to turn them off...or at the very least found the mute button :016:
  11. Agree 100% with the last post - will make further comment once I have had a chance to review my transcript from the AGM, but I am certain we were told by the Board that ALL members would be consulted and have the opportunity to comment on spending proposals before monies were distributed. Their seems to be some very loose interpretation of the constitution going on with regards to what qualifies as community development.
  12. I think CC has a massive fear of failure which is in direct conflict with his ambitions for the club. Here we have a guy who has given the best part of his career to ICT, who was in a 'job for life' behind the scenes and out of the direct public eye. He was offered the managers job which he had to think long and hard about taking (due to fear of failure) but his ambitous side was stronger and he couldn't turn down the chance. Move on to this day and I think he is still battling that conflict internally. I don't think he's so much "looking for excuses" as looking for everyone to be as ambitous and pationate as he is about the club. He needs that to fuel the part of his personality that saw him take the Managers job and to justify to himself that he made the right choice, and without it the "fear" creeps back in every now and again and nothing will have brought it back more than the result against Celtic. Thats when he appears to lash out at the fans in the manner he has done in this weekends press. He needs to learn though that fans are fickle creatures and like any creature, when they are attacked, they will retaliate or run and that his comments could be counter productive. There are 101 reasons why fans aren't as vocal or sounding as vocal as he would like, not all of them down to the performance on the pitch either. Personality, Stadium Atmosphere etc etc all play a part. As some wise dude once said - "Don't bring me problems, bring me answers" - so I would ask CC, what is the answer? what can the fans AND the club do to improve things?
  13. "If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team." Sorry, that part of the post just reminded me of that :015:
  14. The way he reveresed into that van the other day, I'd say he was an "Utterly Useless" driver :015:
  15. Are you reading posts made by me in some kind of parallel universe? I said nothing about mergers on this thread :017:
  16. It's a message board, what else are you meant to do? Or would you prefer we just stayed quiet after you posted, or rather, ignored you. Hey, that would be a great idea. Implement an ignore system which means that we don't have to put up with your pish day in day out. Now I would love to continue 'struggling against your line' but I have 9 1/2 hours of plying students with alcohol to go to. See that big button on the left hand side below a users Avatar....yeah that one that says IGNORE....it does exactly what it says on the tin :004:
  17. We weren't discussing non-attendance on the basis of cost, I was commenting purely in regard to the issue of not attending based on the likelihood of ending up next to/near opposition fans. Perhaps one (partial) solution which could be looked into would be segregating the uncovered area at the away end of the Main stand and increasing tickets given to the likes of the OF on these occasions. OK, it would need a small amount of investment to sort out the facilities and possibly erect some kind of temporary barrier, but it's a small price to pay to keep your own fans happy and see them coming back IMO. Until such time as our home crowds grow to a level whereby you will get 5000+ true ICT fans wanting/buying tickets then the club aren't likely to turn away money from anyone willing to part with it whether we like it or not. If you had read comments I had made on threads regarding the prices you would see that I fully agree with your point about that.
  18. Aberdeen have been invited to play in some tournament in the Far East so have/are considering withdrawing their application for the Intertoto.
  19. I can see where Gringo and others are coming from, but looking at it another way. If you decide not to go then your just making another seat available for them - it's self defeating.

    Ian Black

It's not the bookings that bother me with Black, well they do, but I don't hate him for it or want to see him dropped because of it, what got to me was the whole throwing his shirt ordeal. That was too much, if it was an intentional act of disrespect for the club/badge then he can get tae feck. If it was just heat of the moment, red mist deal then he needs to apologise for it IMO. He is a great player with great potential and he has shown that time and again, but I don't want any player wearing the ICT Shirt unless they have some respect for the badge that's on it.
  21. seems I missed the word "hot" off the end :001:
  22. He's not going to attract much attention sitting on his @ss at home!!!
  23. I thought he was chit
  24. TCS nearly witnessed this grown man crying when the final whistle blew yesterday - so without a doubt it goes down as the worst I have ever felt at the end of ANY game.

    Ian Black

I don't think his spell on the bench will have affected his fitness that much, it was more down to the fact that he chased everything, tackled everyone and generally worked his @ss off like it was the last game he would ever play yesterday. Doesn't matter who you are or how fit you are, you can't keep that up for 90 minutes. What we lack is another player of the same ilk to take his place as and when is needed.
