  1. Would have prefered anyone else, but their is something magic for us about getting Celtic in the Cup which kinda makes you want that draw. Bring it on :022:
  2. 1-0 Livi :015:
  3. Shall be listening with interest to see what kind of performance Golly produces. Wonder if their is a clause stopping him playing against us should they beat Celtic and we get Livi in the cup?

  7. With all due respect David, that is BS. I raised the issue, it was shot down from the floor by yourself and Les based things like "Other Trust work like ours currently does" and meetings/fans forums could not be open events because of logistics. It was also stated that the Trust had to offer "Member only perks", and when I countered that this was not the aims of the Trust and that it's constitution charged it with working for the community. I got no answer to this and things were quickly shifted along. I offered solutions/counter arguments and when Les was forced to agree and could offer no argument it was opened to the floor for their comments and only one person made any comment - which was basically that they wanted something exclusive in return for their membership fee. It was then brought up that Dee4Life had one of themost successful Trust in the country and when I pointed out that this was in part due to the fact that they had a Trust which charged nothing for membership the conversation was then re-directed on to arguments about "dead members andmembers who did nothing" etc. At this point I was verbally attacked from the floor, asked if I grudged paying my £10 and was told that I should "put something in to the club". The same person then suggested that I be given my £10 back and sent packing. The meeting was then swiftly brought to an end without the matter being resolved and without my being allowed to counter the accusations laid against me. Here I was arguing that we should not be looking for any kind of exclusivity as members and someone who had just said they were looking for this was accusing me of grudging my £10. So please David, don't insult my intelligence by coming out with comments that I was alone in my thinking. I know for a fact that their are members of the Trust Board and in general who agree with my points, but they prefer to play some kind of game of politics surrounding the whole thing. For me, I can be bothered with the politics, all that will do is get in the way of what should be getting done so I call it as I see it. As I have said in the past, I will continue with my stance until such time as the Trust is of a sufficient size and structure to allow it to 'hand on heart' stand up and say it is representative of the fans. If at that time the majority disagree with my views then I will accept that, but until then I will continue to do what I can to fight for a Supporters Trust that is free, open to everyone and is fulfilling the charges as laid out in it's constitution.

Hissy was doing ok for us when he was playing regular games and was settled - I think he would do ok again if he could just get that chance at another club and was given a bit of time to get up to speed - unfortunately those kinds of luxuries don't come along too often in the modern game where it's dog eat dog and players have to produce the goods quickly or face being moved on/dropped.
  9. He also played in goals for part of a game once if I recall, doesn't mean I'd want to see him there again :015:
  10. No point panicing over the situation, it is what it is and the best thing we can do now is get beind the guys 100% and provide all the encouragement and support they need in order to bring out the best in them.
  11. Until such time as the barrier of a joining fee is removed from the Trust and all fans are members purely by virtue of them being a supporter then in my mind the 12% holding is not "The Fans Slice" by any shape of the imagination and falls under the control of a minority group, much in the same way as it did when it was owned by the Members Club. The ICT Supporters Trust has the power to remove the joining fee and include everyone but they choose not to, instead people are expected to pay to prove they are a fan and have a say in how the Trust runs. Transfer of these shares to the Trust is a positive move, and I ask that the Trust reconsider it's membership criteria to bring all fans into the fold regardless of their willingness or ability to pay a £10 joining fee. Let see if the response I get to this time round is being told to shutup and the board being asked to refund my membership and send me home as happened at the last meeting I attended and proposed the abolishment of the membership fee and open meetings for all fans!!!
  12. Thats a good summary SM and despite the fact you think your having a go at those complaining it in fact highlights exactly what people have the grievance with - inconsistancy in dealing with fans of different clubs.
  13. Away stand holds about 2200 from memory.
  14. Two things, firstly your only allowed 11 men on the pitch, so if you take a sub on then you have to take someone off and secondly, we were crying out for some fresh legs on the park, CC obviously thought Blackie had something to offer to the game and Duncan was in the position that Black is strongest in. Had CC replaced McBain with Black then I would have seen that as a far stranger decision than the one that was made. Every player on the pitch was playing well and had it been McBain that was replaced and the result ended the same then you'd have someone on here saying "Why did he hook McBain, he was having a great game and didn't deserve it".
  15. Strange thing was the referee didn't see the incident as he was walking the other way as play continued, the linesman made no signal to him and the fourth official just stood there as if waiting for everything to kick off. It SHOULD have been a red card, but how the referee became aware that something had happened, let alone know it deserved a card is beyond me.
  16. Any trip of this nature would be nothing but a Marketing/PR exercise. I also can't see us playing first teams from any of the clubs suggested as they would be in the middle of their season. Good idea in theory and would likely generate a bit of interest in ICT in the US, but can't see too many benefits in terms of team preperation.
  17. I feel we do need another Strikler short term to keep competition for places healthy and if that means we have to dig deep to bring in a quality loan signing then that's what we are going to have to do (especially if CC want to fulfill his plans of playing a 4-3-3 in some matches). A short term loan deal isn't going to break the bank, but a lack of options up front could well break the season.

:025: - I was also impressed with his willingness to have a pop at goal when the opportunity presented itself, and he was never far off. With a little more match experience those shots will start hitting the target with more accuracy. He is a very similar player to Bayne, but he has the added ability/confidence to run at the defence. On a few occasions yesterday he picked the ball up wide or 30 yards out and his first thought was to take it and run at goal, something he was doing with great effect. As I said somewhere else, he proved yesterday that he has the ability to perform at this level and it is up to him now to keep on doing it every chance he gets. CC said that he intended to keep rotating the 5 strikers, so he has confidence in them all and McAllister was likely to get his chance, but with Dargo and Wyness sidelined then this is the biggest opportunity McAllister is going to get to make the position his. Glad CC has stuck with the lad, and the nerves he showed a couple of times on previous appearances seems to have gone, yesterday he showed nothing but confidence and a belief in himself. Long may it continue and I hope CC has him on a decent length contract because this young lad is a definite star in the making.

  20. Don't forget to add Proctor to the list of Shoulder Dislocations - The common thread running through all cases is Brewsters Training Regime :010:
  21. I don't think he was all that bad, but he did seem to be playing to a different gameplan than the rest of the team on a few occasions. His tackling was as solid as ever but some of his clearances were a bit suspect and he was the only one of the back four that seemed to want to hoof every ball the length of the pitch.
  22. It was between McAllister and Wilson for my MotM. McAllister showed he has what it takes to perform at this level and it is up to him now to continue doing what he did today at every opportunity. He held the ball up well and wasn't afraid to have a go for goal - hopefully now some of the disenters will acknowledge his effort and ability a little more and give the guy a break. The whole team played with confidence today and deserved a win IMO, so to lose the game to a late goal will be very hard for them to take. First goal was the fault of Munro who rushed a clearance, sclaffed it and allowed Celtic to come straight back at us from dangerous position. Fraser had the initial shot well covered but was nothing he could have done when the ball came off the crossbar and fell for the scoring touch. Second goal was a Dods sclaff and was hard to bare, especially as the goal scorer should have seen a straight red instead of a yellow for shoving Black to the deck. I've been very critical of Black for his attitude, and I would have expected him to have gone off on one and get a booking for retaliation, but credit where it's due, he kept his cool - a positive sign. We had 2, maybe 3 penalty claims refused, a couple of corners refused and 3 or 4 offside calls which were a mile off the mark - not to mention the elbow Rory (I think) got in the side of the head and the time Bayne was taken down by the last man who wasn't even given a talking too, let alone booked. All of these could have led to strong goal scoring opportunities and once again it was a case of the Ref and his assistants favouring the OF. All that aside though, we still created plenty of opportunities and if we keep on doing that then when it clicks and someone finds the goal instinct we are going to give someone a right hiding. As IHE said, a very disappointing result and one thats hard to take, but there's a lot of big positives to take from todays perfromance.
  23. One of the female stewards (Supervisor) got a smack in the chin from a Celtic fan who was evicted at half time aswell. He passed us, unzipped his fleece to show his Celtic top and was giving us the finger. I shouted to the Stewards asking why they never did anything. The response I got from the male steward was that he saw nothing, I asked how he could see nothing when the guy walked right between them and he said he hadn't seen him because he was eating!!!! This got right on my goat so I gave the guy a bit of verbal and he marched off to get his supervisor - thought I was going to be evicted but the Supervisor asked what had happened, I explained and gave the reason for my frustration and she went off to find the Celtic fan. They found him down in the lower concourse area and he was evicted from the stadium. Something must have kicked off with him outside because he was lifted by the police and thats when she got the punch in the chin. Top marks to the Supervisor for her handling of the situation, but I find it worrying that the Steward was more interested in munching his pie or whatever he had than doing what he is employed to do. She (the supervisor) wasn't too happy at that either and I believe she had a word. The main stand was, once again, riddled with Celtic fans - most of who were causing no bother from what I could see, but it just takes one idiot like the guy I mentioned above to kick something off, especially if one of our own fans had decided to have a go.
