I'm more concerned about our lack of right sided players
  2. DBS, you are sadly right on the ball with your comment. Unfortunately that is the current state of affairs with regards the SPL at the moment and unless you are involved in a battle at the top for a European slot or fighting to avoid relegation then the post split matches mean very little. Not all ICT fans (and same applies to all clubs) are die-hards and given the option of spending at least £60 for a trip to a meaningless game in Dundee or going along to see C*unty relegated/saved from relegation and spending half of that will be a no-brainer. I'm sure the situation was the same for many teams yesterday who's fans didn't bother travelling and instead opted to do something less expensive, be that an alternative, more local match or some other activity. Until such time as the SPL wake up to the fact that the whole system needs a shake up - from a larger more competitive league to the pricing structure at individual clubs - then the situation will only get worse year on year.
  3. Nothing to beat a findaloo and a couple of beers

  7. The new museum should go a long way towards providing education to new and future fans as to the history of both ICT and the clubs which were sacrificed to make it possible. I don't for one minute think we should, or indeed need, to forget about Thistle and Caley, but I do think some people need to move on from the merger. The anti-merger campaign failed - regardless of the reasons, the politics and whatever other excuse anyone cares to cast up for that failure what's done is done. Nothing anyone does now will change that or turn the clock back. I was against the merger at the time, but in hindsight you have to wonder where Thistle and Caley would be today if it never happened. You could argue one or other team may have made it into the SFL of their own accord at some future date, but it is just as likely that with the current economic climate in football and the depleting gates which are being witnessed across the whole game (a trend ICT seem to be bucking, slowly but surely) then the reality is that one or other clubs could have gone to the wall and been lost totally. Many of those who resent ICT claim some unfaltering loyalty to one or other pre-merger team. I call in to question that loyalty. ICT may be the ******* child of Thistle and Caley, but it is the child all the same and you do not disown a child simply because you didn't like one or other of the parents. They don't want people to forget about the clubs that passed, yet they fail to realise that the only thing keeping that history alive is ICT and it's continuing existence and success. If ICT was to disappear then everything that come before would disappear along with it, including the history they claim to cherish so much. In short - the truly loyal Thistle and Caley fans of old are those who lend support to ICT today, not only to assist in it's future, but to protect the history of that which came before.
  8. I drive buses these days. This means that your not entitled to or expected to have a personal life as the shifts suck. Normally a bit more active on the forums but been working hard on getting www.highlandmarch.co.uk website up to scratch aswell as aiding with preperations for Highland March 5 (see Signature). It is true that some people appear to have too much time on their hands going by the amount they post, but there are worse, we've had people create multiple usernames/accounts just so they could talk to themselves :017:
  9. I wouldn't consign the Pars to Div 1 just yet. They are now at the stage where every remaining game is a cup game - one loss and they're out. It seems to be doing the business for them in the cup and it may well be enough to save them from the drop if they can carry it over to the league.
  10. Maybe, but those quotes are from Grassa are they not?
  11. LMAO - just noticed thatone of the google ads that appears when viewing this thread is for free singing lessons!!!
  12. Why do you care so much about what other people think? And why are you busy watching them instead of the match? :016:
  13. Oh Dear!!!!!

Your not fooling anyone C100, we all know you have Rory pyjamas.
  15. I dont want to sound arrogant or anything but I dont think you can really argue that Dundee United have more potential than ICT. Plus he will be able to double/ triple his wages. For an ambitious player Dundee United offers more than ICT can. I am expecting a barrage of abuse for that but from an unbiased (as possible :003:) point of view thats how I see it (and Dods too evidently) As for being underhand what did Barry Robson do? What a load of Tosh. The money being offered by ICT had nothing to do with Dods decision to move, it was/is the length of contract he was being offered. Dods didn't feel it was long enough to justify uprooting and moving up here on a permanent basis and the traveling has been taking it's toll on his private life.
  16. Roscoe23, it's becoming increasingly apparent that your either on some kind of wind up mission or you know nothing about the circumstances surrounding players who have left the club or are leaving this summer. I've already deleted one of your threads for the manner in which you refered to an ex-player, slow down and take a moment to think before throwing around infantile and ill-educated remarks such as the above. Please also try and refrain from the constant use of txt speak as it makes for difficult reading.
  17. I agree with Clacher re the location of the singing section. The no roof situation shouldn't be an issue as if you believe everything you read the "noisiest" fans are the die hard terracing fanatics. A little rain, hail or snow shouldn't put them off :016: Connecting this with IHE's idea of doing something for the Dunfermline game, they could just open up that section to anyone with a ticket anywhere else in the ground that wants to go sit there. As no season tickets have been sold in the area you wouldn't have to move anyone and it wouldn't matter if you were a Main Stand or North Stand regular. The game is unlikely to see a huge attendance so it's not like they'll need the space for others.
  18. Didn't think they let you work beyond 70 these days???
  19. Try and keep up, we've already had this discussion elsewhere ::)
  20. Perhaps with a bit more notice of where and when the team will be abroad then people will be better placed to make arrangements - another drawback of the late decision making last year.
  21. I have a healthy interest in much of what this guy goes on about. I've read a lot of his books and watched a good many of his DVD's. I wouldn't say I believed what he says, but I accept that their is more going on in this world than we know about or will ever be allowed to know about. One of the things that always interested me about Michael Tsarion and others like him is that they talk about people over time who have been assasinated in one way or other - not necesarily killed, but destroyed as people. He claims this happens because they come to know too much. If this was the case and he was anywhere near the truth or posed a risk to the "higher power" that he talks about then would he too not have been assasinated??? Conclusion.....He's either part of the "conspiracy" which says we are beng prepared for something to come and he is doing the work of those he appears to speak out against - either knowingly or unwittingly. Or he is so far off the mark that he poses no threat to this "higher power" A very difficult subject to talk about as many find it difficult to accept that people can have a healthy interest, a curiosity if you like, without categorising them as "one of the conspiracy nuts". I don't spend any time researching stuff in the manner that people like Tsarion do, but I do find it all interesting and spend a fair amount of time reading the publications they produce. I guess I view it as a religion, and like any religion I accept a persons right to follow it and I'll view it with interest even though I would never place myself as belonging to any. "Knowledge is Power" and although the chances are these people are well off the mark, it does no harm to know a bit about it just incase they prove us all wrong!!!

  23. At our level the youth system will never produce sufficient player of the quality needed unless we somehow managed to invest disproportionately in youth development, which is suicide as you would always spend the majority of your cash on the first team. We will always have to depend on picking up youths from bigger clubs who haven't quite made the grade there but are more than capable of performing for us in the SPL, just as we will depend on picking up players who haven't made it at other clubs who fit better into our system and way of doing things. At the end of the day no one method is going to meet our needs and we have to look at them all. What I find a little concerning at the moment is that there are teams around us and below us who are picking up some great loan and youth signings from "big" teams. We either lack the forsight to be tapping in to this market or we simply don't have the contacts. As much as I like Grassa and appreciate all he has done for the club over the years I am actually starting to think that we need a Director of Football with a bigger background and larger network of contacts in order to make this happen. All we seem to do is p!ss around in the scouting game and even though we've heard tales about getting scouts here there and everywhere I believe it needs to be sorted from the top down, not the bottom up. We are slowly establishing ourselves in the SPL and if we want to stay here then we have to be just as ruthless with our off the park personnel as we are with those on the park.
  24. Zoning may well change, and it has been looked at by the club on several occasions, but it has always come down to the fact that a change to allow the expansion of the types of business operated at the site would vastly increase the rates. It would seem they are looking at/have discovered some way around this with a "Members Only" bar, but as the club is now a 'Ltd Company' and no longer a 'Club' it effectively has no 'members' in the manner normally required for such establishments. If it's anything like the Sports Bar they were "so close" to opening in the town then I won't hold my breath.
  25. SMEE, why would you want a half season ticket if you already get a full season ticket for free?
