  1. That really was a poor performance by both teams. Couldn't believe Dods got MotM to start with, then watched in disbelief as he made the tackle he did. Was no need for it, the angle was tight and Brown was at the near post covering it. I'd also like to know what was going through the minds of those who gave Dods a standing ovation as he left the field having just cost us the game - you'd have thought he had just scored the winning goal or something :017:
  2. Should here me when I get started on about Taxi Drivers!!!!! :016:
  3. Those cart things are a feckin menace and should be banned. You get people all over the road with them thinking they are in a freakin car. Their is one woman (may even be her in the pic) who regularly floats over the middle of the Black Bridge and down Grant street with cars queued back to the roundabout behind her whilst she takes up the entire road.

    East End Inn

Given the shameless nature of this advert and the self promotion I'd hope you were going to offer the ICT fans some kind of wee incentive to attend and try out the East End Inn - Do I hear Happy Hour from 1:30 till 2:30 pre-match on the 23rd Dec???
  5. We should just kidnap Sonny and throw him down a mineshaft!!!! Something a bit different for a starting 11...... ----------------- Brown ----------------- --------Rossco - Dods - Munro-------- Wilson - Duncan - Rankin - Hastings ------------------ Bayne ------------------ ------------Dargo - Wyness------------ Gives Hastings a chance to push forward more and he can also drop back if things get rough at the back and we need additional cover and Rankin can then go wide left. Bayne can sit in behind Dargo and Wyness and do all the leg work and lay off to two players who have (historically) shown a bit more of a goal instinct. He is also capable of dropping back to the middle of the park should Hastings need to drop back to recreate the back four. Lets put his hard work and pressuring of the opposition to best use instead of just lumping long balls up to him. Having Bayne in behind the front two also means they should have to drop back less and remain in more dangerous position. This picking a team thing is a piece of p1ss really isn't it :001:
  6. Was listening to "Kiss - Crazy Crazy Nights" earlier and couldn't help replacing the chorus with "Caley Caley Caley Caley Jags"
  7. In that last pic, some people have shodows and others don't.....does Toronto have a high vampire population??? Seriously though, many of these initiatives would be worth considering over here but they have to be taken on properly and a commitment made to the running and sustaining of them. We have seen many of the SPL clubs (past and present) try out cheap ticketing ideas etc and then bin them after only a short time. These things have to be viewed long term and if anyone is looking to invest cash in ICT in the near future then I personally think it is worth risking a healthy amount of it in bank-rolling these ideas to give them a chance to get off the ground.
  8. You obviously had to be there to get the joke. I can only assume the funny part is in the removal of his socks and shoes (in that order) to help him count.
  9. The biggest item missing off the list of what we have to help us stand on our own 2 feet is Banking and the Financial Industry. Scotland are one of the biggest players in that Market, Royal Bank of Scotland Group is the 4th or 5th biggest Financial Institution in the World in it's own right.
  10. Wish I had seen this sooner as I knew what it was - used pictures of this building as one of my sources for a design project I did at school.
  11. It's called "keeping your feet on the ground" - as fans it is our job to be the ones getting carried away every week, wether it's due to a good or a bad result. It's CC's job to steer a steady ship and getting carried away or going to the extremes in his actions or comments is not going to achieve that. Personally I enjoy listening to CC's interviews, they are more often than not a true reflection of how things have gone/are going - if anything, he is guilty of being the opposite of the accusations presented in the opening post on this thread as (overall) we are doing pretty darn well this season and the players (and cc) deserve all the praise they get - and more!!!
  12. Pics from the party courtesy of Johnboy can be viewed/rated and commented on now in the gallery. Clicky Clicky Thing If anyone else has pics from the night out and they want them added e.mail them to me at donald@caleythistleonline.com and I'll get them included - don't worry about resizing or anything as the album takes care of all that automatically when I upload them anyway. Apologise for not making the party, I had to be up for work early this morning (probably around the time most of you were getting to bed) - This golf outing idea sounds intriguing though!!!
  13. Can't see the club allowing him to go on loan TBH, he just has to bide his time (and bring his ego in to check) and he will get his chance again this season. He also needs to spend a little less time talking to the press and bigging himself up and touting himself to other clubs as he obviously seems to be doing (again) here. The guy has obvious talent, just needs to become more of a team player IMO.
  14. I was sorely tempted to close the thread when I saw it, but I believe most of our site users are responsible enough to "self moderate" with regards to these things. I also think it is sometimes better to leave these things so as we, the fans, can make our opinion known regarding the levels certain types of journalist will stoop too in order to fill a few column inches.
  15. Totally disagree with the point regarding subs. I think CC makes intelligent use of substitutes and if you look back at the timings you will see that they varely largely, which IMO, shows he is making changes with a purpose and not just because the game is coming to an end and he is panicing or making changes for the sake of it (Games we are winning aside where changes are often made to eat up the clock). From having a quick glance at the stats I would say about 40% of our substitutions have been made before the 75 minute mark.
  16. A lot of feckin use they would be if you left them at home!!!!!
  17. Must have been a slow news day and if you read the quotes and ignore the journalists attempts to sensationalise the whole thing you can see it looks to be no more than a heated argument. Discussion of players and their personal lives has always been discouraged on here, but since this (non) story has made the national press then I am happy to leave it open for discussion (for now). However, should discussion stray from the facts and degenerate into people simply using it to have a go at one or other party then I will not hesitate to close and/or remove the thread. Hopefully forum users will (as they often do) recognise this as nothing more than 'gutter press' and not give the journalist responsible the reaction he is obviously looking for.
  18. Don't think we should be reading too much into the situation or conjuring up conspiracy theories. It could just as easily be CC playing with different options in the midfield, for which we have an abundance of players all worthy of wearing the shirt and getting a starting place.
  19. I believe changes will come with time. I also believe CC is doing things right (on the whole) so far. He inherited a decent outfit which is performing well enough, to have come in and started making any kind of wholesale changes would have been very risky and stunk of arrogance. Not only is he taking time to find his feet, he is also taking the time to allow his own confidence to grow. He has shown that he is capable of making the right substitutions at the right time in games, and the more he continues to do that the more comfortable he will become with making changes, then from that will come changes to the starting line-up. I don't disagree that we could perhaps do with shaking things up a little, but I don't think it should be something which is forced. We are doing OK - the league table doesn't lie - but we are certainly not safe enough to start experimenting wholesale. Slowly, Slowly, Catchy, Monkey and all that
  20. Story Link If they can't even count the number of digits in a number what the feck chance have they got of making the books balance!!! :015:
  21. All for giving "cheaper" Whisky a go, but Tesco Value is pushing it a bit, I'd rather experiment with Windolene or Meths :puke03:
  22. I wouldn't ever claim to being an expert on Whisky or the differing flavours from the differing regions etc. I know what I like and thats about it. I also shy away from recommending a Whisky to anyone who asks what is good/bad as it is, IMO, very much a personal thing unlike Vodka which clearly has good and bad brands. The bottle I have open at the moment was a gift and is a 12yr Old Glenfiddich (Special Reserve), very enjoyable dram. Also found myself tending more towards Malts than Blends recently since I have all but given up drinking anything except Whisky - Beer, Lager and Cider leave me feeling like chit next day, even if I only have just the half pint. Also, I have to say that it really does my box in when I see someone adding Coke or Lemonade to Whisky.
  23. I think your being a little naive RiG, the act of waving the flag itself may be ok, but we all know that a large portion of those waving the tricolor do it with the intent of stirring up some kind of controversy, just as those Rangers fans who choose to wave the Union Flag and the St George's Cross do. Unfortunately these flags have been hijacked by and have become symbols for extremist elements, the same cannot be said for the T&T flag, and the two scenarios are a world apart. I do agree that their is little that can be done about someone waving a flag though, and if society chose to ignore/deny the significance that has been attached to them and concentrated on dealing with the issues that can be clearly set apart as sectarian (songs and chants etc) then we may start to make inroads into the problems.
  24. I try not to think - it hurts too much.
