Does Smith really want the Rangers job? Can't say that I've read any direct quotes from him saying he wants to leave and it all seems to be speculation over his desire to manage Rangers ahaead of Scotland. Perhaps Smith doesn't want to turn around and give Rangers a straight no incase things do go t1ts up at some point with the Scotland job and their is a chance of him getting back into Ibrox in the future. Perhaps he went to the SFA half hearted and said, "I'm going to ask to leave, but I would prefer you rejected my request." I'm not convinced one way or the other yet, and I think it's wrong to be jumping on Smith when all we have at the moment is a handful of vague quotes from everyone except the man himself on which the press have spun out, what they would have you believe, a minute by minute analysis of everything that has gone on and will go on.
  2. It's been "Caley Army" for as long as I can remember it and I don't recall ever hearing anyone sing "Loyal Army" Agree with the point RiG is trying to make, but it goes back to the discussion we had about a group of fans refering to themselves as "Casuals" - You may have no intention of attaching yourself to a certain sector of people, but rightly or wrongly, certain phrases, chants, names, flags, symbols etc have been hijacked by extremist groups over the years and the majority of people will automatically associated you has having some kind of allegiance if you use them. It's not right, but thats the way it is. I believe the "Mini Rangers" tag comes from the pre-merger days whem Caley were considered the "Huns of The North"
  3. It was time for Fr. John's Saturday night bath, and young nun, Sister Magdalene had prepared the bath water and towels just the way the old nun had instructed. Sister Magdalene was also instructed not to look at Fr. John's nakedness if she could help it, do whatever he told her to do, and pray. The next morning the old nun asked Sister Magdalene how the Saturday night bath had gone. "Oh, sister," said the young nun dreamily. "I've been saved." "Saved? And how did that fine thing come about?" asked the old nun. "Well, when Fr. John was soaking in the tub, he asked me to wash him, and while I was washing him he guided my hand down between his legs where he said the Lord keeps the Key to Heaven." "Did he now?" said the old nun evenly. Sister Magdalene continued, "And Fr. John said that if the Key to Heaven fit my lock, the portals of Heaven would be opened to me and I would be assured of salvation and eternal peace. And then Fr. John guided his Key to Heaven into my lock." "Is that a fact?" said the old nun even more evenly. "At first it hurt terribly, but Fr. John said the pathway to salvation was often painful and that the glory of God would soon swell my heart with ecstasy. And it did, it felt so good being saved." "That wicked old Devil!" said the old nun. "He told me it was Gabriel's Horn, and I've been blowing it for 40 years!"
  4. Aye very good, but it's a bit early for April Fools. To quote the great man himself...."Feck Off" :015:
  5. Scarlet, I believe I read somewhere recently that the club needed an average home gate in the region of 4500 to allow them to break even - which seems like an achievable target to date.

  15. I'm sure the club will make him the best offer they can, both financially and practically - if thats not good enough then so be it, no player is worth more than we can afford.

  22. Brown is far too good for Falkirk - Better offers will come in sooner or later, and I think he should show a bit of ambition by telling Falkirk that he's actually looking for a move upwards so thanks but no thanks.
  23. WeWillFollow probably sounds a bit too much like a huns site for most non-rangers supporting Scottish football fans.
  24. I was editing the post when the question was asked. Few potential banana skins in that draw I think. Not sure whether I would prefer to play United or St Mirren, but with our recent form having improved a fair bit at home then I'm gald it's TCS we are playing at. I doubt Aberdeen or Hibs will be looking forward to a match v Gretna and I hope Deveronvale stuff Partick :001:
  25. No point getting worked up over the IF's, BUT's and MAYBE's - Agree with the point Clacher is getting at about these players not being irreplaceable, even if I don't agree with the manner in which he talks down and dilutes the importance of their contribution to the team. IF they go then other players will come in or step up to the plate just as has happened in the past.
