  1. Some confirmed Pre-Season Friendlies.... Sat 27 Jun : Clach 1pm Wed 1 Jul : Brora 7:45pm Tue 7 Jul : Forres 7:45pm Hope to also add games for 4th & 11th July and possibly between/after Euro matches as well.
  2. There's a Ross County joke in there, but I don't want to be arrested.
  3. The Edge & Escape references may not mean much to most on here as they're not (yet) available in the UK,
  4. Ask Uncle Roy.....he claimed at a recent fans meeting in Dingwall that they had 400 more than us last season. If you took his number of 1800 for Ross County then do the maths, you'll come up with the wrong answer for us.
  5. The Immortal One's only gone and made a bloody song.....
  6. I think you'll find that Buckett's comment was intended as tongue in cheek.
  7. What this thread really needs to get it back on track is another long list of all the teams.
  8. The club don't do "numbers", but the Chairman did say in a statement the other week that sales were already outstripping previous seasons. Free U12 info is on all the advertising info, website and price tables....so I'd expect anyone looking in to buying season tickets would be aware of this.
  9. I'd give the club a call just to check on what the state of play is as I think you should have received your books by now if everything went through ok (01463 227451)
  10. I'm going to revise my saying of "One Great Club, Two Great Histories". I think we've now earned the right to say...... "ONE GREAT CLUB, THREE GREAT HISTORIES"
  11. Don't really want to turn this thread into an argument on Summer/Winter football (it's a discussion being had elsewhere), but my statement was one based on what experts (Grounds Staff) say on the matter. I also know from having spoken to a senior person in the FAI that they regret switching to a summer schedule because of pitch issues and crowds having dropped. Anyway, I mentioned the artificial pitch idea (regardless of whether the season is summer or winter) because it is a great income generator. It could pay for itself (and the additional facilities that go with it) in a little over 3 years and then be generating a 6 figure annual income beyond that. It could just as easily be built externally whilst leaving the grass pitch as is....although that too is in need of total replacement, will cost at least a couple of hundred thousand and not increase the clubs income as a result!! As I said above, ideas are no more than that if the money isn't there to execute them.
  12. Summer football actually increases the requirement for artificial pitches as you are taking away the period during which work is done on grass pitches to prepare them for the winter season. The winter break provides little/no period of growth for grass regeneration. It's the biggest flaw in the whole "Summer Football" argument.
  13. Not bothering with an Away Kit this season and just going with Skins.
  14. Only place I know that's showing it is the Uefa website
  15. We're not in the Champions League.....yet!!
  16. So what your essentially saying is we need a good big beer tent.... Maybe not a tent....but yeah, things like extending the Sports Bar area and conferencing facilities etc would all allow the club to improve income. As would an artificial pitch that could be hired to the public. No doubt there's 101 ideas to be looked at....but the money needs to be there first, or some kind of coordinated effort put in place to raise the money for a specific project.
  17. If we get through the 2nd round Qualifiers then our matches v Motherwell & St Johnstone will be moved to the Sunday....the knock on effect of that would be that the Partick Thistle game would need to be moved (either to the Thursday or another later date). If moved to the Thursday then the Celtic game would also need to be moved to the Sunday (which is probable regardless). If we then make it to the play-off stage then the next two games would need to be shifted as well...!!!
  18. IMO, the Champions League has done more to damage world (not just European) football than anything else. It's almost solely responsible for the ridiculous levels of money that gets paid to players at the selected "Top Clubs", whilst the rest of the footballing world is left to feed off the scraps. There was very little merit in England acquiring the number of positions they did in the beginning and the co-efficient and allocation of places is engineered to ensure that they maintain that privilege. It's a competition that is run purely for profit...much like the English Premier League these days....and as is, and probably always will be, the case, people buy into the marketing and hype. It's a scenario that only serves to syphon an even larger portion of the money towards the chosen few who were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time when it all kicked off. It's unlikely to ever change as those with the money are the ones who call the shots and there's not a hope in hell they will ever vote to give that up....so Que Sera
  19. It's taken the club a few years to stabilise the finances and get a workable and sustainable balance with the budgets. I'd personally prefer to see any new investment being used to improve facilities and encourage income growth which would, in turn, create additional funds to be invested in the squad.
  20. I should hopefully be in a position to put up some info about this in the next couple of days.
  21. It's a one year deal and the club have a further one year option. Which is not legally enforceable if the player decides he doesn't want to stay another year. I don't know exactly how these are set up or worded within the paperwork, but I believe it's possibly more accurate to say that it is a 2 year contract in which the club have an option to terminate early without penalty.
  22. It's a one year deal and the club have a further one year option.
  23. The lower leagues of Scotland, England and further afield should be encouraged for places to look for players however considering the depth we have in centre midfield of which contains: Tansey, Draper, Christie, Vincent, Foran, Polworth and Horner (Nick Ross Excluded), I just have my doubts as to whether the boy will be a worthwhile signing for both parties - I do look forward to being proven wrong though! I used to use the "look forward to being proven wrong" line myself....but I came to realise that it's just BS. Nobody REALLY wants to be proven wrong and the phrase only serves to say "I have no faith in my own evaluation of the situation and will just place this here as my get out clause". It's up there with those people who bet against their own team just so they can say "oh well, at least I made a couple of quid" if they lose.
  24. Find it rather amusing that some fans moan about us not looking at lower leagues in Scotland....then moan their t1ts off the moment we sign a player from the lower leagues in Scotland
  25. The club have been speaking to two companies who specialise in travel for these kind of things but with a large number of possible locations it's not practical to draw up options for them all. Once the draw is done on Monday and the options are narrowed to just a couple (or we may actually know for sure) then I'm sure things will quickly kick in to place. All I can say for now is that the club have asked that chartering a larger plane and selling the additional seats be looked at as one of the options.
