  1. Liam Fox for Raith Rovers v. Hearts Martin Bavidge for Inverurie Locos v. Banks O Dee in the Quarter-finals of the Aberdeenshire Cup.

  3. Give me strength...! The 'mythical fire-breathing creature' has even managed to troll the 'Word Association' thread!!!
  4. We definitely have a team with more experience than the youthful Hearts side. Our starting 11 has an average age of 25, which is also relatively young but Hearts really are full of mostly 'youngsters'. Not sure what their exact starting line-up will be but the average age will be around 21. Their Aussie player, Dylan McGowan has just turned 22 and is their 3rd oldest available player!
  5. I just hope a guest doesn't stumble upon the middle of this thread - they'd think we've lost our marbles! However, if they read from the beginning they'd surely twig, unless, like some, they've had an irony-bypass!
  6. They've made a very decent start to the season and have really cut into their initial points deficit. They're already on 'just' -8 points and will likely get to the 'fresh start' of 0 (zero) points by 9 or 10 games in, at the most.... giving them plenty of time to catch up. I'm sure there are already a few nervous glances behind from St. Mirren and others (but not us ) at this stage! If it wasn't for the points penalty, Hearts would be equal 2nd. Next week's game will be tough, especially with the expected large travelling support behind the visitors.
  7. Premiership Stuart Armstrong (Dundee United 4-0 St. Johnstone) Championship Dougie Imrie (penalty) (Dumbarton 3-1 Morton) League Two Bryan Gilfillan (Peterhead 2-2 Elgin City) Dennis Wyness (Peterhead 2-2 Elgin City) Highland League Gary Farquhar (Huntly 3-2 Fort William)
  8. 2013/14 - 24th August (4 games) ------------------------------------------------- 2012/13 - 5th October (9 games) 2011/12 - 5th November (14 games) 2010/11 - 3rd October (7 games) Also, I make it that we went 400 minutes without conceding a goal in the league since the Dundee United game at the end of last season. A club record? County scored against us in the final game of last season.

  10. Context?! Just like you didn't know who the shooter was in Hilton, I don't know where you were on a 'raft on the sea' or why?
  11. A bit of context would help! I've got a raft of debts to pay-off, wish me luck?
  12. Terry Butcher formerly managed at Griffin Park - the home of Brentford FC. I'm just glad he prefers glasses of red wine in the hills above Loch Ness rather than the pints of bitter easily afforded nearby the London club.... Brentford's ground literally has a pub at each corner, something no other club can 'boast'! I'm glad I don't support them as I'd never make it to the game! There's also advertising on TOP of its stands?!? Apparently, it's under the flightpath of Heathrow airport! (We need to get an ICT scarf around nessie's long neck!) Here's a good 'clickable' link showing the location of the pubs relative to the stadium. I bet loads of punters drink in all 4 before and then after the game! http://www.theguardian.com/travel/interactive/2013/mar/15/brentford-football-club-pub-each-corner-interactive

  14. Quarter-final draw is today (Thursday) at 2pm. Some big Championship clubs await - Dundee, Raith Rovers, Queen of the South and Falkirk. But they'll likely be hoping for Rangers (assuming they come through against Berwick)! The other remaining clubs are Stenhousemuir and Annan Athletic.
  15. Ramsdens Cup - 2nd Round Liam Fox scored a penalty for new club Raith Rovers. (Dunfermline Athletic 0-2 Raith Rovers)
  16. They've got to install a running track. Big job. Hampden will be out of commission for ages.
  17. Ross Tokely and Grant Munro will always be ICT legends. That can't be taken away. I was one of the doubters when Munro was released but Butcher was spot on! Recruiting Warren and integrating a young Josh Meekings into central defence then merging them into a partnership has been a master-stroke! Munro/Dods were good but I reckon this pairing is even better.
  18. ^^^ Good response Yngwie...not to be sniffed at!
  19. Yeah! There will be a few internet/telephone accounts getting urgently cancelled! And twitter photos of betting slips being suddenly removed! I was aware that wagering on games a player was directly involved in was banned but I didn't realise that they couldn't gamble on games they clearly had no influence on. Like the German Bundesliga for example. It is widespread amongst players and always has been. It's not match fixing but sheer naivety! He's unlucky to be caught and likely made an example of. Maybe a Celtic fan who works in Ladbrokes decided to land him in it by reporting his betting pattern to the football authorities. Pure conjecture on my part about the 'fan' but seemingly Ladbrokes did report him as they're entitled to do. Nowadays there are betting markets on everything - from number of corners to the number of throw ins. Indeed, there was an incident a while back that ex-Southampton legend, Matt Le Tissier openly revealed in his autobiography. It was a scam relating to time of first throw in. He had 'under 5 seconds' at 50/1. If they won the toss they would kick-off and implement the plan. If they lost, the chances are the opposition would choose 'ends' giving them the kick-off! It transpired that they did start the game, Le Tiss got the ball tapped to him at the centre-spot and he proceeded to launch it out of play...unfortunately for him, in an attempt to make it appear a mis-placed pass, he under hit his kick and the bet was ruined!
  20. Just reading the Highland League results - noticed Kyle Whyte scored for Clach! ( Lossiemouth 1-1 Clachnacuddin)
  21. Ex ICT reserve player, Paul McMullan scored an OG playing for Elgin City today! (East Stirling 3-0 Elgin)
  22. Antigua & Barbuda Zaine Francis-Angol for Motherwell today!
  23. This forum is for 'other football.' The ICT discussion takes place in the 'ICT' forum. GET A GRIP
  24. Tuesday 13th August North of Scotland Cup - Quarter Final Dale Gillespie TWO GOALS, Andrew Greig and Zander Sutherland all on target (Thurso 0-5 Brora Rangers)
  25. Agree with you lukemackay regarding Auchinleck and Linlithgow but the North Junior League is of an inferior standard. Culter are well below the quality of the top junior sides outside of the North. They would struggle in the top East and West Junior superleagues! The reason, in my opinion, is that Aberdeen has an abundance of teams and therefore the playing standard is diluted. It's not that the players aren't good enough, just that they're too evenly spread. A bit like how Inverness amateur teams (before they went Welfare) didn't do very well in the Highland Amateur Cup - it would ordinarily be 'expected' for the City team to produce a contender but it rarely materialised. The likes of Wick, with 3 or so teams had stronger line-ups due to the Inverness talent being spread over around 30+ teams.
