  1. Win tomorrow, then again in Dingwall on Friday and we'll go back to the top of the league!
  2. ^^^ It's not strictly the U20's. It's the Scottish Youth Cup tomorrow. Queen's Park v Inverness CT.
  3. LOL! Well what else can I be when you've just posted a picture of your impressive, big tackle in the 'Well done England' thread.....!
  4. Having looked at the teams who have qualified and those who may yet - it's very likely there will be a few players from the SPFL at the World Cup in Brazil. In the 23 man squads. May have missed some but I've 11 names who could be there. Coincidentally, there's a 'keeper, a right back, a left back, a centre forward etc making it possible to create a hypothetically, plausible team: 1. Fraser Forster (England & Celtic) 2. Mikael Lustig (Sweden & Celtic) 3. Emilio Izaguirre (Honduras & Celtic) 4. Arnold Peralta (Honduras & Rangers) 5. Efe Ambrose (Nigeria & Celtic) 6. Rabiu Ibrahim (Nigeria & Kilmarnock) 7. Reuben Gabriel (Nigeria & Kilmarnock) 8. Tom Rogic (Australia & Celtic) 9. Georgios Samaras (Greece & Celtic) 10. Jackson Irvine (Australia & Celtic/Kilmarnock) 11. Rory Fallon (New Zealand & St Johnstone) Two obvious questions arise when looking at those 11 players... (a) Have I too much time on my hands? (b) Why haven't I got a girlfriend?
  5. Speak for yourself!
  6. Aye, for having stumbled upon it and been in once, he seems to have a remarkable appreciation of their opening and closing times, future plans for lunchtime service and going forward, the likely introduction of home deliveries! And he was so impressed with this **NEW CHIP SHOP OPENING** that he thought he'd register on the forum and share it with us!!!
  7. Got to remember that as recently as last summer the Dutch were being written off as a spent force and having reached the end of an era. They lost a warm-up for EURO 2012 at home to Bulgaria before heading to the tournament and losing all their games and finishing bottom of their group. But they've picked up since then by cruising through this qualification and have accumulated enough ranking points to be on the verge of the top seeds pot - but it looks like they'll just miss out. Only last month they failed to beat Estonia - that, I imagine has cost them automatic seeding. They now have to hope Jordan can spring a major shock and eliminate Uruguay!
  8. Ah, but you never know what you'll get on the ICT forum!
  9. Congratulations. He looks happy, healthy and a bundle of joy. So does the baby!
  10. Scotland winning the World Cup!!
  11. Seems like it was played out competitively and fairly - but can you imagine if Ecuador had sneaked a late leveller - the conspiracy theorists would have loved that!
  12. Yeah, my 'crazy' forecast that Switzerland could end up in Pot 1 isn't looking too far away now! We'll see tomorrow when the FIFA rankings are released. What I wasn't so clever with was my feeling that Chile v. Ecuador would be a stick-on draw! I should have listened to Doofer'sDad! His suggested scenario played out. Despite beating Argentina, Uruguay were never going to thrash them by enough to improve their goal-difference that would threaten a loser of the Chile-Ecuador game....and now the Uruguayans have the not too daunting prospect of a two-legged play-off against Jordan.
  13. They're up to 2nd in the table now!
  14. Damn! Billy McKay not in the starting line-up for Northern Ireland. They've gone for Martin Paterson up-front supported by Aberdeen's Niall McGinn. Hopefully Billy will come on as a sub!
  15. So it would appear he won't be joining Brora?
  16. I've got 8/11 at William Hill. £10 on the draw! Couldn't risk more than that. I reckon the odds might get even shorter nearer kick-off - but as you say, Braveheart, one of them might win! They both are almost certainly through anyway. It would be a decent draw punt, aside from the obvious scenario of the draw sending them both through!
  17. As a keen fixed odds better, I'm used to seeing odds of 9/4 (£32.50 back from a tenner) or 12/5 (34 quid back from £10) in a match between two relatively even sides. I have just discovered odds of 7/12 for the draw between Chile and Ecuador when they meet tomorrow! That's under £16 back from a tenner. I've never seen such low odds on a draw. But both teams will qualify for the World Cup with a draw. It could be a classic scenario of playing the ball about without too much effort. Both teams happy to turn-up, shake hands and not even bother playing! Dreadful odds for a draw - but could it be a complete 'cert'?! I'm in no way recommending putting money on that outcome (although I am), but it seems the bookies have smelt a rat!
  18. Thank god you've changed your avatar! From a big fat disturbing belly to a fat arse! Lovely.
  19. I think that's definitely the best ever - what a record!! 48 from 49. Another good penalty stat here...The Czech Republic have been involved in penalty shoot-outs over the years and have won all them all, scoring 20 successful goals and missing NONE!
  20. ^^^ That post I made about Switzerland may turn out to be the most 'embarrassing' one I have ever posted - not too late to delete it, but I won't! My reasoning was that they are currently 14th. They have since won a game last week and have a home game against Slovenia tomorrow. Another win and they could jump up a few spots - but possibly not into the top 8! We'll see on Thursday - it may yet be my most 'inspired' post!! I also, would love to see Iceland make the play-offs!
  21. The October FIFA world rankings are released on Thursday and will be used to seed the European play-offs AND the actual World Cup draw. Switzerland may sneak under the radar and end up in the pot of top-seeds alongside the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Germany, Spain etc. !! That would be incredible....
  22. ^^^ In one off situations, centre-backs can hit them in! You're right Renegade. David O'Leary netted a crucial one for the Republic of Ireland in a World Cup knock-out and Brian Irvine scored the winner (I think) for Aberdeen when they last won the cup in 1990.
  23. Updated draw after today's replays- Albion Rovers v Deveronvale Alloa Athletic v Inverurie Loco Works Arbroath v Brechin City Ayr United v Queen's Park Clyde v Brora Rangers Culter v Berwick Rangers Dumbarton v Cowdenbeath East Stirlingshire v Raith Rovers Elgin City v Dunfermline Athletic Forfar Athletic v East Fife Fraserburgh v Montrose Queen of the South v Hamilton Accies Rangers v Airdrieonians Stenhousemuir v Annan Athletic or Buckie Thistle Stranraer v Auchinleck Talbot Turriff United v Stirling Albion
  24. Saturday 12th October Scottish Cup 2nd Round (replay) Zander Sutherland (penalty) (Cove Rangers 0-3 Brora Rangers) Scottish League Two Shane Sutherland TWO GOALS (Berwick Rangers 2-3 Elgin City) Highland League Stuart Soane (Wick Academy 0-1 Forres Mechanics) Craig MacMillan (Strathspey Thistle 1-2 Buckie Thistle) Andrew Skinner (Clachnacuddin 8-1 Rothes) Kyle Whyte (Clachnacuddin 8-1 Rothes)
  25. If James Vincent (Terry's publically declared first choice) is to be out injured for a while, who should assume the mantle of our spot-kick taker? I don't see why Aaron Doran couldn't step up! I think he'd be excellent - a wee 'faint' on the run-up, then effortlessly guiding it passed the already commited 'keeper! Anyway, for the record, here's the list of our current squad's players' records from 12 yards. (in chronological order order from left to right, i.e. Billy has missed his most recent 3) - still not too shabby, 7 from 10, but I agree with Terry, 3 misses in-a-row means it's time to step aside. But I'd have no qualms about Billy stepping-up and taking one if we had a shoot-out against Dundee United in the League Cup quarter-final!
