  1. I heard some folk are even walking! (hat-tip to the Highland Marchers)!
  2. Go to the Red Pepper...it might be a good omen for tomorrow...a red-hot Pepper off the bench could swing it for us!
  3. Saturday 18th May Highland League Lewis MacKinnon (Buckie Thistle 1-1 Inverurie Loco Works) Ross Tokely (Brora Rangers 12-1 Fort William) Dale Gilespie (Brora Rangers 12-1 Fort William) Zander Sutherland (Brora Rangers 12-1 Fort William) Andrew Greig (Brora Rangers 12-1 Fort William) Hard luck to Steve Paterson whose Formartine United team missed out on winning the league today, but a 'well done' to Barry Wilson in his debut season in management. Wick Academy finished an incredible 3rd in the Highland League. Easily their best ever campaign and they remain unbeaten in Caithness in a year and a half, with a remarkable home record this season of played 17; won 17!!
  4. Such a shame for Shane. I'm sure he'll do well elsewhere. Good luck to him.
  5. Eh? I thought the Queen of the South manager, Alan Johnston had got awarded that!?
  6. I think it'll be Graeme Shinnie's 100 appearance for Inverness.
  7. It would be cruelly ironic if we did miss out on bringing European football to Inverness as a result of that late drama on Saturday. An Inverness boy (Armstrong) assists a Caithness lad (GMS) to score the winner!
  8. Talking of the merger, there's an interesting article in the Sunday Mail today. I suppose it adds a bit of perspective if our European push ultimately flounders! http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/inverness-caley-stalwart-charlie-christie-1882945
  9. Does this mean that the retained players have been promoted to the first team squad? Obviously Polworth and Cooper have played for the team before and can be considered such. Calum Ferguson has probably been elevated to first team, but like Martin Laing this season, will be on the bench at times. And Jay Cheyne has been playing at Buckie Thistle, so not sure if he's ready yet for the step up. But it's good these decisions have been made early so our squad can take shape in good time for our assault on Europe!!
  10. Yeah, the young Georgian lad has had a few good reports on the U20's thread. Hopefully, Alex MacLeod's post above is correct regarding not releasing goalkeeper Mathieson.
  11. Scotty and me of the same mind! I just posted but was beaten to it!
  12. LOL ^^^ The same thought had crossed my mind! Neil Doncaster and David Longmuir will have to have a penalty shoot out or play rock, scissors, stone (best of 3)...
  13. Only a few months ago he was considered hot property, too! Hope he finds a new club for next season. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11795/8193896/A-host-of-clubs-are-chasing-Inverness-Caledonian-Thistle-attacker-Kyle-Whyte
  14. Thursday 18th July

It's great that Terry's got the lovely 'problem' of having 3 good centre-backs to pick from! In saying that, as happy as I am with the defenders we've got they've still shipped a lot of goals. I've just checked, and despite being on the verge of an unlikely European spot via a 3rd place finish, we conceded only 1 more goal the season we were relegated. We may well end up with more goals against as we've still 2 tough games to come!
  16. I think Higdon deserves the award. He's been scoring a load of goals. The previous best return for a non Old Firm player was 21 by Anthony Stokes in his Hibs days. Billy McKay has surpassed that also but Higdon's total makes him worthy winner.
  17. 5th May SPL Iain Vigurs (Ross County 1-1 Celtic)
  18. Saturday 4th May 1st Division Liam Fox (Livingston 2-3 Raith Rovers) 3rd Division Jamie Duff (Elgin City 3-2 East Stirlingshire) Stuart Leslie (Elgin City 3-2 East Stirlingshire) Bryan Gilfillan (Queen's Park 0-3 Peterhead) Rory McAllister (Peterhead) was named this week in the 3rd Division 'Team of the Season' Highland League Daniel Park (Formartine United 2-2 Forres Mechanics)

  20. 1st May Highland League Callum Dingwall (Clachnacuddin 1-3 Formartine United)
  21. I was wrong to quote 30! Sorry! I was mistaken! We've played 25 guys (the likes of Oswell, Blackman make up the numbers) with 5 different others on the bench who weren't used! (Mathieson, Christie, Whyte, Hogg, Laing). But why let the facts get in the way of a good story!
  22. Probably another 15 players!!! Don't want to sound negative but we only have 11 signed players at this time for next season. We've used 30 this season...a team for the SPL needs 18 just to fill the bench and likely 26 for a squad. If we qualify for Europe, then next season starts on 18th July...with maybe a 3 week pre-season, which would have to begin at the end of June...i.e..NEXT MONTH!!!

Full Time: Dundee United U20's 1-2 Inverness Caledonian Thistle U20's Shane Sutherland got the winner! Well done, lads!!

Chris Hogg sent off! Dundee United score from what I assume was the resultant penalty. 1-1 with 15 mins left.
  25. I wonder if he's waiting to see if we qualify for Europe?!
