  1. I don't know about whether he is the second best keeper but surely he is entitled to a shot at the squad, for a friendly at the very least! David Marshall and Graeme Smith are both ***** yet are consistently included. Craig Gordon is obviously better than Brown and I haven't seen Alexander play for years so can't comment on him.
  2. Argh, I had erased all memories of Rosscoe playing anywhere but right back from my memory. Remember when Robbo played him in centre-midfield against Ayr United in his (Robbo's) first home league game? Hooked after twenty minutes!
  3. Blackie has the right idea - if he stays for another season or so and performs the level he is capable of he could get a move to a Championship side and build his career that way. Look at how Burton O'Zulu did, for example.
  4. Inverness Caley Thistle v Nairn County Holders Nairn County booked their place in the UMAX North of Scotland Cup final once again with an impressive 1-0 win over Inverness Caley Thistle at the Tullochs Stadium in Inverness. Nairn County started the game on the front foot and went close to opening the score in the first five minutes of the game. Firstly Duncan Jones fired a shot in from 20 yards that was held by Johnathan Smith within 60 seconds then Jones saw a shot deflected over soon after. In the 20th minute Richie Hart raced through the centre of the Nairn defence and fired in a low shot which was deflected away by John Campbell for a fruitless corner. There was little between the two teams but that changed in the 29th minute when Nairn took the lead. Willie Barron raced down the right wing before picking out Duncan Jones. The midfielder played the perfect ball over to the back post where Darren SHALLICKER was on hand to ram it home. Despite the introduction of Ian Black at half time Inverness Caley Thistle failed to take a grip of the match and in the 53rd minute David Macrae picked out Mike Sanderson who tested Jonahton Smith with a low 20 yarder which the goalie dealt with. Minutes later that man Ian Black picked out Zander Sutherland who drove in towards goal only for his low shot form the right edge of the box to be blocked by the legs of John Campbell. Zander Sutherland then swung in a cross from the right that was looped back across goal by Richie Hart however his header hit the inside of the far post and came out to a Nairn defender who duly booted it clear. There was to be one last chance for the home team to force extra time when a high ball into the area evaded Steven Edwards. It was chested down by Richie Hart who fired in a 10 yard effort which was well held by John Campbell. 5. Another way to put that would be, we have signed a player who has scored one goal in fifty odd games in the last two seasons at a lower level than the one we are playing at. Perfectly legitimate to question his signing, although there are positives that can be looked at, as I posted elsewhere. I think Charlie has done a good job but why shouldn't people say what they think about the manager and what happens at the club? Do you honestly think that Charlie has come in for "constant slagging" on this forum? I remember Brewster and Robertson being criticised more than Charlie has been.
  6. It's good to beat a team like the Faroes comfortably but Georgia also beat them 6-0 and got roundly pumped at home by France.
  7. We mean a lot to you though :015: What would you do with your time if you weren't hating us? Oh and I couldn't care less where we sell the top, they get sold in the town centre. RiG needs to stop moaning about everything just because he is stuck out amongst the Dorics :004:
  8. I am an optimist, this transfer can be looked upon positively in some ways. We have signed a player as cover for a problem position, he is not being brought in to start games. In this sense he is an experienced Premierleague player, which has to be better than bringing in a wet behind the ears youngster. We haven't paid a fee and I doubt we are spluring wages on him. Also, perhaps McSwegan will be motivated by his failure to achieve what was expected of him at County? Jim Hamilton was rotten for County when he was there but has been excellent in the SPL the last couple of seasons. There are also quite a few cases of players whohaven't shone in the lower leagues making an unexpected impact in the SPL - James Grady scored more goals in one SPL season with Partick than in several First Division seasons with Ayr Utd for example.
  9. Have we signed McSwegan or not? Why hasn't the official website been updated with this stuff? It's very laudable that we are encouraging kids to eat healthily but surely more fans are interested in who we have signed than what types of bagel you can get in the IRA canteen. If we have signed McSwegan then surely it's only for cover, i.e. bench. He was a good player ten years ago but now is very much on the slide - he has scored one goal in the last two seasons for County, in the First Division! Any info on these trialists?
  10. Where did you see this?
  11. I am slightly worried about our squad. We have sold Tom Parratt and David Proctor, leaving us with only one 'proper' right-back in Rosscoe, who has just recovered from a serious injury and seems to have lost a bit of form. Up front we have four strikers, of whom two are injured and one is a seriously raw kid. We have options in the middle but it's no use having plenty of midfielders if you can't defend or score gaols. It's heartening to see us pull out the stops of keep Dodsy for this season but he isn't showing the form he did last time out. On the plus side, Rankin looked good on Saturday I thought and Blackie did well in the middle. Bayne had a good game and is hopefully getting back to some of the form he showed in our first SPL season, after last terms injury interrupted frustration.
  12. I am sure that the police will use these orders sensibly. It would take far too much time and money to prosecute everyone who gives an opposition player the bird at games. Hopefully the nutsacks who arrange violence at games and hurl sectarian abuse will be banned. So bye bye Boab Malcolm.
  13. They could end up bouncing back though. Found this on Youtube, I missed this game :009:
  14. Full time.
  15. Are Toronto the only team he's ever wanted to play for manage? :004:

  17. A cracking thread on teh County site about our game - Click :015: :015: :015: Like the Murpheys and all that. EDITED
  18. Why does everyone fancy trying out new formations and line-ups for this game? Our cup performances against lower league opposition hardly set the proverbial heather on fire last season and we made several changes for both those games. If we succeed in going a few goals up perhaps give younger lads like Zander or Rory 20-25 minutes. I might sound a bit lacking confidence but this is probably our best chance at a trophy or final, why do an Aberdeen and mess it up? If we make any changes I'd bring in Bayne for Wyness, simply because Bayne has seemingly done well so far this term and deserves a wee chance. Has Barry recovered from his illness?
  19. Hearts yep, first game of the season. Peleisgod, where do you stay, I stay about 10 minutes from Tynie as well, in Fountainbridge.
  20. Hows the game going, have no TV or radio access - going from pishy BBC text it sounds like we are getting a going over. Is barry injured?
  21. I see ex-Clyde loan star Adam Proudlock is without a club after being released by Ipswich. Could he be tempted North? He has had a host of disciplinery problems so might be a risk.
  22. Anyone going to confess to shouting abuse at Andy McLaren when we played Killie in the cup along the lines of "take a drink you boring *******" :015:
  23. From the radio broadcast we sounded OK. Barry Wilson seemed our biggest threat going forward but Wyness had another poor game. Perhaps give Bayne or McAllister a chance? Our first clean sheet of the season is good news, although at the end of the commentary Scott Davie said we've only won nine games in 29 at home in the SPL. Very poor and we really, really need to improve on that. Next Sunday would be a good place to start :003:
  24. Our results against Hebs since we went up: 2004/05 ICT 1 (Wilson pen) Hibs 2 Hibs 2 ICT 1 (Juanjo) ICT 3 (Juanjo, Brewster, Wilson) Hibs 0 2005/06 Hibs 1 ICT 2 (Proctor, Wyness) ICT 2 Hibs 0 (Dargo 2) Hibs 0 ICT 2 (Wilson, Dods)
