The reason that we're losing games
Headed goals this season: Hastings v Morton Black v Killie Headed goals last season (from memory): Tokely v Motherwell - ??? Wyness v Aberdeen Proctor v Celtic McAllister v Gretna Tokely v Gretna

Team For Motherwell
Four defenders is not too many. If you played three at the back with wing backs you would have three central defenders in a smaller area than before, meaning more likelihood of them getting in each others way.
-
Team For Motherwell
Because it is a terrible formation that would see us roundly humped by everyone we played. ------------------------Fraser------------------------ ---Tokely-------Duff-------Munro------Hastings---- ------------Duncan----Black---McBain--------------- --Imrie---------------------------------------Cowie---- ----------------------Wood------------------------------ Either that or take a midfielder out (probably McBain) and play 4-4-2 with Rooney and Wood up front.
-
McBain
Mcbain is an asset in the midfield, with his hard work and decent pace he provides cover for the likes of Imrie and Cowie to break forward.

We signed the following members of the first team squad from lower league sides: Phil McGuire (Dunfermline) Andrew Barrowman (County) Dougie Imrie (Clyde) Don Cowie (County) They have all been pretty integral to the side so far this season. We also signed Rankin from County and Paatelinan from Cowdenbeath. In addition to this, Garry Wood and Iain Vigurs were both taken from the fallout of Elgin City's youth set up, so they count as well. We've also made attempts to sign James McPake and Graeme Dorrans from Livingscum in the recent past.

Our Forward line ?
We should play Rooney and Wood up front against Motherwell. Either that or stick with what we did against Celtic.
-
Cellic Smileymometer
Rooney came on against Dundee utd and we looked dangerous, it was the same yesterday. I think having him and Wood up front against Motherwell could be a good idea.

He's in the wrong medium: Song for Cyril

BENI Display for Celtic game
These songs are absolutely pathetic.

ICT -V- Celtic : matchday thread
We should have taken a point from that.

ICT -V- Celtic : matchday thread
0-0 at half time. We are doing pretty well, keeping it tight and not allowing Celtic much space. McDonald looks isolated on his own up front and Garry Wood had a great chance but was denied by a Boruc save. How did Blackie stay on?

Is Burley going to walk away?
George Burley has spent his whole career in England and doesn't have the pals in the Scottish football press that Alex McLeish and Walter Smith have. Smith lost to Belarus at Hampden and drew 0-0 away from home with them. Alex McLeish blew qualification by losing to Georgia away from home - they only managed to beat Faroe at home in the entire campaign and were playing a couple of youth team players in that match.

Team for Celtic
I agree with this team and this post.

Tickets for Celtic Match
Why have the club put ticket prices up for a game that is on television?

Scotland V Norway Match Day Thread
Kris Boyd has said he won't play for Scotland again while George Burley is manager.

James McPake Whoever is semi-decent at Ross County this season.

Part Time ICT Fans.
Caley had average crowds of 3000+ in the 1950s and 60s? I'd doubt that, if only because I doubt that there is reliable verficiation for crowd figures. Back in those days many teams got huge crowds, junior games in Glasgow used to get 30,000. Things have changed for all clubs. I thought that the away stand held 2,200. That means 5,500 spaces for home fans, so maybe an extra 2,000 odd show for the Old Firm games. People want to go to the 'glamour' games I suppose, fans who have to pick and choose games due to work or family concerns might also want to see the 'big' games. One thing I think is important is that the fans who turn out for these games are hugely important for the club - they are the people we need to attract to more matches, they are potentially regular fans but for whatever reason don't make it to more games. A haughty attitude isn't going to encourage anyone to make more of an effort to get to the home games.

Reserves vs Hearts
Good that a team with so few experienced players seems to have performed well. Connor Rennie and Shane Sutherland are 17, Struan Scott-Woodhouse, Stuart Leslie and Dale Gillespie are all 18, Garry Wood is 20, Zander Sutherland is 21. Of the outfield players, only Djebi-Zadi and McGuire had any experience. Disappointing that McGuire AGAIN talks himself into disciplinary trouble.

Team for Celtic
Renegade, the 3-3-3-1 is never going to catch on. I was thinking about this game as I watched MotD last night. Sunderland played Arsenal at home yesterday and took a point, nearly three, by playing it tight and closing down the opposition quickly. They were happy to sit back behind the ball and pressure the more talented Arsenal side. The previous week Hull City beat Arsenal 2-1 by playing two strikers with Giovanni just behind them - they pushed on at Arsenal and prevailed that way. Should Brewster take the Sunderland approach and risk being punished for any mistakes or does he attack Celtic and take the chance of being hit on teh break by a rampant Celtic side? Difficult game and an interesting selection.

Dundee Utd -V- ICT : matchday thread
Goal looked pretty onside on Setanta. Surprised they didn't show the handball as that looked a very obvious penalty from my view.

Dundee Utd -V- ICT : matchday thread
Just posted my match report. We didn't deserve anything from that - midfield looked lost without Blackie or Duncan in the second half. It was just a bunch of guys running about. Cowie had an absolute 'mare in the second half - what's up with him? Barrowman should have done better with a cuople of first half chances but their midfield dominance meant we were just hitting high balls up to him and he isn't going win much against Wilkie and Dods. After being encouraged at least in parts by every away game I've been to this season (all except Arbroath), that was a poor showing. Edited to add - Ian Brines! F*&king hell, what a dire, dire referee he is. ?1,000 well spent

Team v Yinited
Same as last week but with Esson in for Fraser.

Billy Dodds Banner or chant
It all sounds very petty to me. Why not have a banner actually supporting the team rather than slagging off some no mark pundit?

BENI Display for Celtic game
It is a brilliant flag. I remember waiting outside Firhill before the 2002 Scottish cup quarter final and seeing a load of fans coming round the corner with it, looked great.

League Cup Quarter Finals
Did Caley not play Stirling Albion at Falkirk's ground years ago in a cup midweek game?
