  1. They didnt' show any of the chances that Rooney missed or the break from Sanchez - I'd say they were all good opportunities. Obviously it's going to concentrate on Dunfermline.
  2. I think Dunfermline put highlights on their website. They have highlights of their cup game with Dumbarton on there, so I assume they do league games as well. Edit: Highlights now live on www.dafc.co.uk
  3. Agreed. He actually did OK in general play I thought but the three easy chances he missed were criminal. Not getting his effort on target in the first half was amazing. I'd love to have seen us with Foran up against their defence, I think he'd have ripped them a new one.
  4. First half I thought we were by far the better side. We had more of the ball, played some decent passes and had better chances. Second half we seemed to sit a lot deeper, like our players were scared to lose. Having said that, the Pars didn't offer up much going forward other than long range shots, few of which troubled Esson. I thought that Eagle was abysmal, Rooney was terrible and Imrie looked ineffecitve. I hop that this is a one off as going forward we didn't look much. The chances that Rooney missed were unbelieveable, especially the one in the first half when he was clean through,. Hayes seems a much better option than Eagle, who didn't do anythuing. Great strike by Cox, fantiastic bounce frfom the fans. Good support I thought. Didn't know who the player was getting the stick from the fans, but it was pathetic. Grow up bell ends..
  5. Confusino reigns over County's game tomorrow. They will play Airdrie and the game wil go ahead but if Livi successfully appeal their relegation the result will be voided. What a farce.
  6. Obviously he'd been reading Jackie Stewart's autobiography before the game. Either that or the Mor(t)on fans barracking him fired him up. It'd be difficult for the club to keep a player who obviously wanted to leave (although we did do it with Dods). If I were Butcher I'd say to Imrie 'Look, you can go now to a Hamilton or a St Johnstone type club or you can play a season with us in the First, give it your all, show how good a player you are and then if you leave look to England or a top-six SPL club.'
  7. I can exclusively reveal the other fun celeb guests for the fun-filled, fun-and-frolics Kenny Dalglish special fun day are the Rev IM Jolly, Droopy and Thom Yorke from Radiohead.
  8. When Dougie played for Clyde he was involved in a collision with a young Accies player Ross McCabe. As far as I understand it, McCabe slid in on Imrie, Imrie jumped out of the way and landed on McCabe's throat. McCabe then had convulsions on the pitch (I think his heart stopped). The game had to be abandoned as an ambulance drove onto the pitch. McCabe recovered but had to retire from senior football - he is playing in the Juniors I think. Some Accies fans (and officials, I think) suggested that Imrie was at fault for the collision or that it was deliberate. I think that there was a suggestion that Imrie laughed as McCabe was injured. I seriously doubt that - seems like it's one of these exaggerated hate fixations that develop in football. Imrie went to visit McCabe in hospital afterwards. The Hamilton fans took the moral high ground in this 'controversy' by chanting 'Imrie, die' during our games against them.
  9. I'm not surprised that a club of Hamilton's stature are interested in Imrie. He would be a good buy for a lower/mid level SPL club. I am surprised that Hamilton have actually put a bid in, especially with the history between him and the fans. Billy Reid was also involved in the row, I believe. I think Imrie would be more likely to go to Falkirk or someone else in that group of sides. Shame - if I were Butcher I'd try and convince him that if he stays in the First and has a great season he could get a move to a better club.
  10. I haven't seen any of the pre-season games but I have to say I am concerned that we are signing what are basically released youth team players from other clubs or lower league foreigners. Last time we won the First Division we had David Bingham, Barry Wilson and Paul Ritchie up front - all of these players were experienced at that level. Do we have anyone comparable to them now? I hope I'm wrong but I just worry that we are taking a big gamble on these players and it isn't going to pay off.
  11. Renegade, are your other ideas playing Djebi-Zadi behind the strikers and signing up rugby players from Fiji to play centre-half? Why not include these in your 'open letter'?
  12. Sounds like a pish pre-season style game.
  13. Barrowman off, Rooney on. Who did McBain come on for?
  14. I'm going, easy game for me to get to.
  15. --------------------Esson------------------ --Stratford---Tokely--Munro--Djebi-Zadi-- --Eagle----Duncan----McBain----Hayes--- ------------Rooney---Foran-------------
  16. I've been told that Hayes looked very good. Oh, and Forres aren't amateurs.
  17. Not trialists but we were on the verge of a swap deal with Hibs a few years back that would have seen Bobby Mann go to Easter Road and Derek Riorden and Steven Whittaker come North.
  18. SirCaleyTheThird texted me saying Cox looked excellent.
  19. He's got a brilliant name and is worth signing for that alone.
  20. Cregg signed for Hibs today and Lovell's injuries mean that he's a big risk.
  21. Dundee have to be the team to beat in the First Division next year. However, I don't think they are doing what Livingston or Gretna did and buying the absolute top quality of the division. Leigh Griffiths is a good young player but he's only 18 - you often see youngsters fade away after an early impact and perhaps a move like this isn't right for him at the moment. The Dees have to be favourites for the title but it's by no means a lost cause for the other sides. On a side note, anyone fancy taking a book as to when their new benefactor is unmasked as some sort of criminal? Aside from Livingston, no club in Scottish football has had more dodgy owners or investors than Dundeh.
  22. Organise your own bus mate. I have helped organise buses on a few occasions - the main thing is finding someone with the required licenses who is willing to drive a bunch of lads about all day. Either that or take the train. If you book early enough you can get good deals and you can take drink on.
  23. What a brilliant first game. One of the best matches I have ever seen.
