  1. What about all the people (particularly women) who haven't been battered due to having no Old Firm matches, which are renowned for huge spikes in violence? Is this question Rhetorical ? Do you really expect me to answer it, Or are you just showing your own views ? How am I supposed to know about violence to women, children or anybody else. I suggest you contact Glasgow home for battered wives or the Police. It's a well known fact that violence in the West of Scotland skyrockets when the OF play each other, so much so that just last year (or possibly the end of the one before), Strathclyde Police said they would ban OF derbys if they could. There was even a study out the other day, that said when Celtic play any match, violent crime in Glasgow goes up 3%, while when The Rangers play it goes up 10%! Scottish society would be miles better with this repulsive double act. 3. Aye, we should just let the phoenix entity of a vile club that went bust into the top tier just because they're based in a (very debatably!) "great city" . What utter nonsense, clearly posted by someone who's never sat in the away end at Ibrox while these union jack clad morons have chucked 10 pence pieces at you because they're so irate about the result! Scottish football and Scottish society would be a heck of a lot better without them.
  4. Cooper played the whole game away at Perth last December.
  5. I think that turned out to be a myth. He was linked with them, but they never made a move for him IIRC.
  6. If Watkins is available, I'd put him ahead of Ross. Other than that I'd have the same team again really.
  7. Esson Cooper Devine Tremarco Williams Watkins Polworth Pepper Greenhalgh Allen Adgestein Not too bad IMO.
  8. Butcher was offered apparently big bucks at Barnsley and turned it down (offered the best deal they'd ever offered to a manager IIRC and I heard somewhere they would have quadrupled the salary he's on here now). I see one of the bookies had him as 6-1 to be the new boss, but I don't think he'll go. I finished reading his autobiography recently (written in 2005 while he was still at Motherwell), and he seems to really resent Rangers nowadays and dislikes the baggage that comes with them.
  9. To be fair, I think the PA system is actually slightly better than it used to be. I remember times a couple of seasons back when it did sound really muffled and one game where there was lots of horrible static electric noises! Out of interest, how much would it cost to replace the PA? I presume it wouldn't be cheap!
  10. Just seen the highlights there. Didn't get a good view of it at the time, but the penalty decision looks harsh to me.
  11. In the top division it is, but I'm sure we beat the Pars 1-0 in the First Division. Lee Cox scored in added time IIRC.
  12. I thought he was excellent.
  13. It was rubbish when he was playing in defensive midfield against Elgin. He played better when he was moved up top.
  14. According to Football Manager 2012, Adgestein can also play as a left winger. Hard to make out by his comments in the Courier as to where he'll be playing. He talks about how he usually came short as a striker at Brighton, but Butcher wants him to chase balls wide. Whether that's as a winger, or as a striker pulling wide, is unclear.
  15. Well I doubt they would, it was only 16 hours ago!
  16. According to the Courier today, Dean Brill is set to start tomorrow, while Curtis Allen and Marley Watkins will be missing due to injuries.
  17. IMO come the end of the season, we'll be raving Watkins as the best of the bunch, perhaps even as one of our best players.
  18. It's a horrid idea and the badge idea is even worse. Renegade
  19. To play devil's advocate here, is Foran still good enough to be one of the first names on the team sheet? I'm almost certain that (in the event of a fully available squad), Draper and Vincent will have the middle two roles sown up, while I was also more impressed by Polworth in there, than Foran in pre-season. If we continue with 4-2-3-1, Mckay is going to have that position up-top sown up everyday of the week, and should he be injured, then Allen or this Norwegian fellow would presumably get in there ahead of him. I believe his days on the wing are finished, while Ross, Pepper, Williams, Doran and Marley Watkins (who IMO will regarded in due course as our best signing of the new batch) would get in there first, while I believe Ben Greenhalgh will come good in the end. He won't go into defence unless there's a real crisis and in the "hole role", Doran seems to be first pick now, with Ross and possibly Pepper going for it. Does that mean Foran's days as one of the first names on the team sheet are over? Will he, from now on, be a "veteran-off-the-bench" type figure? I'm not sure of that just yet, but I won't be surprised if this season is his last, in his current regard.
  20. So, what exactly do we do with Foran? I think his days on the wing are finished, and there's not much chance he'll be in defence unless there's a real crisis there. I think Draper and Vincent have the central spots sealed up, while I also wasn't that impressed by Foran's passing in the times I've seen him play there in pre-season. For me, I'd like to see him either in the Andrew Shinnie role (though Doran might be first choice in there), but I'd particularly like to see him up-front with Billy Mckay, as I was quite impressed with him there when he was played there last season. Is he good enough to start matches anymore though? Up-top from the start for me.
  21. We're due an opening game win! HT - ICT 2-1 St Mirren FT - ICT 3-1 St Mirren ICT 1st scorer - Meekings St Mirren 1st scorer - Thompson Time of 1st Goal - 21
  22. I see Dean Brill had (one of) the new goalie kits on against Charlton. Very smart I thought. Edit - Here's the best picture I could find (and it's not a very good one!) -

    Arsenal Link

I'm surprised we haven't used the Arsenal link more in pre-season. Did the club ever look at having a friendly with them up here, or even when we were down there, even if it was against their reserves or U21 squad? Or what trying to get involved in one of these mini pre-season tournaments they have from time to time?
