ICT -V- Kilmarnock : Matchnight Thread
Another very disappointing performance. Killie were in complete control and could have been about 3 up by halftime but for another string of great saves from Esson. Tokely was well worth his MoM - one of the few who came away with pass marks. Rooney contributed very little, but like in the Midden game he saw very little of the ball. A lot of tired looking legs out there and our lack of depth in the squad is becoming a matter of concern. Subs Sutherland and Blumenshtein made very little impression. Hopefully there will be some meaningful additions to the squad during the January window.

New faces in January...
Of course it would be a step up from the M.Mouse league - A fecking huge step up. You just have to see the Fleetwood set up to believe it - so enviable - plus the wages are on a par. It's certainly enviable in terms of the amounts of cash the Conference league clubs are receiving from TV deals etc. I just don't believe the product they are currently serving up is any better - whatever the level. Tonight I watched Birmingham-Man U. Our game with Midden on Boxing Day was more entertaining - despite the result.

Team for Killie
I thought Sutherland was our best (outfield) player against Midden - definitely worth another start against Killie.

ICT -V- St Mirren : Matchday Thread
I didn't think TB and MM were saints last week - I'm still trying to work out how it took them 70 minutes to realise that all was not well with Hayes, who contributed virtually nothing to the team effort. Having said that, it was a terrific achievement to take a point from Tynecastle with virtually 10 men for the majority of the game. Maybe that's why they looked knackered yesterday!

Team for Killie
Our midfield was disappointing yesterday, but I don't think Sanchez is the answer. Just a wee bit lightweight for the SPL in that (midfield) area. Also think Shinnie has put in some sterling efforts recently and might benefit from a wee rest - especially if Gillet is available. Sutherland was one of our few successes yesterday and deserves another start. I'd also like to see Duffy restored to midfield and so would suggest a 4-4-2 line up of : Esson Tokeley, Innes, Munro, Gillet (if fit) Duff, Cox, Ross, Foran Sutherland, Rooney Subs - Tuffey, Odhiambo, Ross, Blumenshtein, Duncan, Shinnie, McBain .

I must admit for any neutrals it would have been a decent game to watch. BBC Highlights

We Need Another Hayes!
Agree with all that..... and let's not forget Midden played out of their skins. I'd forgotten how good a player Dargo was.

ICT -V- St Mirren : Matchday Thread
St Mirren played very well today from about midway through the first half. Difficult to take many positives from this one, except that it was probably Shane Sutherland's best ever performance for ICT. I would have said he should have just shaded Shinnie and Ross for the sponsors' the MoM award. At least our year long unbeaten away from home run is still intact.

Team for St Midden
The team's been picking itself lately, but with Jonny Hayes out through injury, will TB bring in a straight replacement, or is a major reshuffle on the cards? For me : Esson Duff, Tokely, Munro, Shinnie, Cox, Duncan, Sanchez, Foran, Ross Rooney Subs : Tuffey, Eric, Blumanstein, Morrison,Sutherland, McBain,

Johnny Hayes injured?
Unless he was having some kind of precognitive reaction to an injury he only picked up yesterday then you're way off the mark. I guess you weren't at the game. If you had, you would have seen for yourself that he was a long way short of full fitness - that much was evident right from the start of the match. He may very well have aggravated whatever problem he had since then, or picked up a new injury, but as others have suggested on here and elsewhere, he looked to be very out of sorts and in some discomfort throughout the 80 minutes he played.

Johnny Hayes injured?
It's good that we took a point off the Hertz on Saturday and kept the away run going with virtually 10 men on the field. Jonny Hayes shouldn't have started this one - it was blindingly obvious to almost everyone there that he had a major problem. Why was he not subbed at halftime? It used to be in years gone by that players who's fitness was in doubt had to prove themselves with a test before the start of a game. Does that not happen any more? We might have done even better on Saturday if we had started with 11 fully fit players.

Heavy snow falling here in St Andrews just now. What's it like in Embra?

Calum Murray apology
Ryan Esson saved his bacon by saving the penalty. What if Miller had scored? Would Murray then have said : Sorry boys - I cost you a couple of points there. Nothing we can do about it now, I'm afraid.

SATURDAY
Drove down to St Andrews this afternoon - A9 was absolutely fine the whole way. Had thought about flying down to Embra but Tokely International airport was closed this morning! Really looking forward to tomorrow and to seeing the gap with the the JT's reduced by 3 points.
