There was no sign of any kind of tactical instruction in the first half - unless they were told to give the ball away at every opportunity. The point I'm trying to make is why, when Marius was hooked, did it give the team a completely new lease of life..? How come he appears to have a divine right to start every game..?

I say "resting" Marius for at least our next three games might just give the team a much needed boost in morale, at a particularly crucial period in this year's league campaign. Controversial I know, but does anyone else think it might be worth a try..?

What should any half decent striker do when that happens..? I don't actually agree that was the case anyway.... there were several ocassions yesterday when the ball was played to his feet - he wasted all of them. Cowie and Imrie linked up really well yesterday... and both are capable of scoring goals. That's where our chances of finishing in the top six lie... :018:

This will probably be mis-interpreted but for all Niculae's achieved away from home, we could hardly do much worse than if we started with Rory....

I thought Bayne was excellent today.... kick-started the game for us.... Think too that Imrie could be tried in a solo striking role - both he and Cowie played their socks off today. I'm sure Rory's time will come - but he's still not quite the finished article.

He did take a hefty knock just before half-time which to me appeared to spoil his appetite for this game... I think it's time we cut our losses with him - you could count on the fingers of one hand the number of games in which he has made any significant contribution.
