  1. Yes.... I'm quite sure TB will readily understand that message, and will fully appreciate it....
  2. You can close this topic now.... We've stopped moaning....
  3. Close Alex.... My generous donation actually went to the Supporters Trust. I'm quite sure they'll be spending it very wisely.
  4. Hasn't Rory come back? (The Prodigal son)
  5. Hi Batfink... thank you for your comments on this club's managerial appointments. How many managers have Swindon gone through in the past ten years? If that club wasn't riddled with corruption from top to bottom and obsessed with fiddling HM Customs and Excise - they might just get somewhere.... Malpas will do just fine here.... thank you for your concern.
  6. Yngwie... If we beat Celtic on Sunday, try re-submitting this just to see if it has an effect on the voting!!
  7. Or any old white top, bloodstained along with the bandage.. It be a nice touch and a great way to welcome the big man...
  8. You got connections with the board, Murdock?
  9. I was disappointed that John Robertson didn't get the manager's job, but I will say that this appointment would have been my second choice. TB handled yesterday's media circus with considerable aplomb... It's easy to understand how he would have stood out as a candidate during the club's interviews. I've no doubt both he and Maurice Malpas will be wiser after their recent management experiences, and will prove to be more than capable of turning the club's fortunes around. It's up to the players now... they are a good bunch of guys, and they will take new impetus from the appointment of TB, and face the challenge of keeping ICT in the SPL head on. I have no doubts they will succeed...Sunday's game will be absolutely massive and couldn't have come at a better time for us. With a lot of endeavour and just a wee bit of luck, this game will go down as the turning point in season 2008/9.
  10. Just heard part of an interview with TB on Radio Scotland ... When asked about his 18 month contract, he replied that if ICT are relegated he intends to stay around to ensure they come straight back up again.... The board have seriously threatened ICT's very existence by giving him such a lucrative contract. I hope and pray it pays off - but it sure is a massive gamble...
  11. Tried that Stevo..... I'm still depressed.
  12. If we get relegated will he stay? Every chance he'd walk. Yeah.... but the point is Alex - He'd want paid for the remainder of his contract - reported yesterday by Setanta to be an 18 month deal... You dont get paid if you walk True.... But you do if you get sacked...
  13. If we get relegated will he stay? Every chance he'd walk. Yeah.... but the point is Alex - He'd want paid for the remainder of his contract - reported yesterday by Setanta to be an 18 month deal...
  14. I'm very worried about the 18 month contract he is rumoured to have been offered. Wouldn't it have made sense to have offered him a contract until the end of the season, and then review the whole situation? We could finish up in a situation here, where if we did get relegated we wouldn't be able to afford to pay him off, and would probably not be able to afford to pay him to stay on. Will he expect a premier league salary if we finish up in Div1? This appointment could bankrupt the club, if the unthinkable happened at the end of the season.
  15. Robbo will be offered his old job back, once we're back in Div1...
  16. Not really..... Dirty Den managed to score on the odd occasion...
  17. He was greatly aided in that job with players such as Stephen Pearson, McFadden breaking through at that time. If you really think about it.... there's an awful lot of luck involved in football!!
  18. There are so many "ifs" and "buts" about this... I get the impression that Butcher is insisting he gets to carry on with both his Scotland and Setanta jobs. The board should be dictating, and laying down the terms and conditions of his employment - not him. Are they so in awe of the guy, and honoured that he has condescended to come to ICT, they are just going to let him call all the shots? According to Grassa one of the criteria to be satisfied with this appointment was how badly the candidates wanted the job. With his (ludicrous) earnings from the Scotland job, and whatever he earns from Setanta, Butcher certainly didn't need this job. No one's going to convince me that he's always nursed some kind of secret ambition to manage ICT. I'm not happy with this at all. It would have been so much better to have had Robbo in place - assisted by anyone such as Duncan Shearer, Bazza, CC, DP, etc... guys for whom Caley Thistle actually means something...
  19. I've still got major doubts about this... Much of Motherwell's success during Butcher's tenure, was thanks to players like McFadden and Pearson that were coming through the ranks at that time. They started to slide when these two moved on. Nether him or Malpas have achieved anything since. I sincerely hope they make a success of this, but I have major doubts - if they don't save us from the drop the ramifications will be too awful to contemplate. It really makes you wonder how much the board care about the future of this club...
  20. These two couldn't keep up an erection in a brothel...
  21. And I doubt very much if he's ever likely to be...
  22. Just when I thought that, at long last, I'd read the the final post on Rory.....
  23. So.... It's up to him now.... I still say we need more than a part-time manager...
  24. No it wouldnt. Im sure he would count himself very very fortunate to get a job back in football at a club he supposedly loves. Anyway, i wouldnt want him back at the club, and i wish people would stop posting who managers should appoint as their assistant. Im tired reading that Pele, Dunc, CC, Barry etc etc should all have roles at the club. Lose the 'jobs for the boys' mentality. Yes, we would all rather have someone who had a 'love for the club' but football doesnt work like this. Get the best man in for the job, and let him appoint the man he feels will best support him doing his job. Butcher might be delighted to have Robbo as his assistant... and I agree that Robbo would be very pleased to get a job back in football again.
  25. If he'd looked at that TV footage meaningfully, he'd have chalked the feckin goal off, and rescinded McB's red card...
