  1. Robbo as Butcher's assistant? It's not as daft as it sounds.... Robbo's already here... he knows and gets on well with all the players. If it wasn't going to work out with Butcher, what with all his other committments, Robbo would be well placed to take over from him. It's gotta be worth thinking about.
  2. Would Robbo consider an assistant job?
  3. Yes... I seem to recall Grassa saying that would be a major influencing factor... :thumb04: :018:
  4. Alex Ferguson at Aberdeen and caretaker Scotland boss after Jock Stein died...
  5. That's right - Malpas has just been booted out of Swindon where he was described by their support as the worst manager they ever had....
  6. Yes and if what I heard is correct can keep the tv work until the end of season, if he keeps us up he will stay and tv work will go Stevico : Will you be making an "official" announcement on here soon?
  7. I'm coming round to your way of thinking now!!
  8. He is not confirmed yet so doubt anyone will know his number 2, at moment it is just hearsay that he has the job Assuming he gets to chose his guy it will almost certainly be Malpas.
  9. You really think they'll have gone through all the shenanigens of interviewing people like Knox, Butcher etc, etc when all the time they've had a pretty good idea who'd be best placed to take the job on? Robbo was sitting in the stand on Saturday.... The team might have got an extra buzz if an announcement had been made prior to the start of the match, that he was to be Brewster's successor... wouldn't they have figured that out? I fear you may be guilty of crediting the board with having more sense than many supporters and posters on here will ever give them credit for.
  10. My gut tells me you are going to be seriously disappointed...
  11. I get the distinct impression Grassa has been told he can appoint anyone he likes... As long as it's not Robbo...
  12. Selling Robbos will allow him to devote all his time and energies to managing a football club...
  13. If true that's the best news I've heard in a while...
  14. Black is an absolute angel - butter wouldn't melt, and it's all other people's fault...
  15. I agree..!! Oh Inverness! Oh Inverness, Is wonderful, Is wonderful Oh Inverness is wonderful, We have a bridge and a castle, Oh Inverness is wonderful!
  16. I'm actually quite a good lip reader... I'm not sure exactly what he said to the linesman but it was something like : ya wucking fanker. What on earth's wrong with that?
  17. I picked up the "f" word several times from Andy on my bedroom telly.... Lucky he didn't get himself sent off... Eh Mannie?
  18. Malpas getting the job would clearly upset and annoy a lot of supporters.... That's why I think he'll get it!
  19. I'm not disputing the penalty award - just saying it was one of these that comes into the "soft" category - sometimes given - sometimes not. McBain could have, and should have been warned about the way he was reacting - A good ref would have done just that - I just don't believe his behaviour merited a straight red card. Now of course we lose his services for the Celtic game, which doesn't do us any favours. It is extremely harsh. I think the club should appeal against that decision.
  20. Bad mouthing the officials has now become part of the modern game. (In fact it has been for some time now) Good refs will on occasion understand the frustration and feelings of a player who has been on the wrong end of a dubious ruling, and will often issue nothing more than a stern warning. Unfortunately common sense wasn't applied in this instance, and it has cost us very dearly indeed.
  21. I was addressing the events that led to McBain's red card, and attempting to explain why the red mist might have descended. As I said in my post, bad decisions by referees, backed up by their assistants, can seriously affect a players livelihood.... It's not always easy to accept such decisions with good grace. I might be wrong here.... but I think you might find, maybe just find that Roy McBain would agree with me on this one...
  22. I've never seen so many short sighted posts on one thread in all my life... The problem wasn't the penalty itself - it actually started with Obua's goal.... That goal should never have been allowed to stand - Obua got nowhere near the ball -he just charged into Esson while his feet were off the deck as he tried to catch the ball.. it was a clear foul on the keeper. Nobody expected that goal to stand... but it did. Decisions like that can seriously affect a professional player's livelyhood.... That decision could even end up being the difference between SPL and Div 1 football next season... So how was Roy supposed to feel, when Conroy added insult to the proceedings by awarding the penalty? This was adjudged by most neutral observers at the game, to be one of the extremely soft variety.. Of course Roy should have said something like.. " Oh referree, are you sure that was a penalty?" But he didn't say that... Of course he didn't feckin say that.... he's a feckin human being - thank God. What would anyone else in his position, with half a brain have said to the ref?
  23. Jan 25th! To see ourselves as others see us.
  24. I agree with all that except for the bit about Archie Knox...
  25. Magic.!
