PT game in jeopardy?
Snowing quite heavily in Sneck just now... more is forecast. Could be problems for tomorrow.

Bulvitis away?
It's not a foregone conclusion that he'll be playing against PT. Quote : It is welcome news for manager Terry Butcher, who now hopes Bulvitis can take his place in the starting line-up against Partick Thistle tomorrow. "We are optimistic that he is coming back," he said. "I've been in contact with him and as I understand it he will be returning to Caley Thistle. "He's always wanted to come back here and he's told his club that, so hopefully he will be back with us before the weekend. However, even if he isn't, because of the way the contract situation is there's no immediate concern ahead of the deadline. We've still to sort out a few details with Ventspils, but the player is set to come back to Inverness, so that's a real positive for us. "I would like him to be involved against Partick, but if it's not possible then we do have options within the current squad who could play in central defence. "The thing is Nauris has done a lot of travelling. "He flew back to Latvia last weekend and then headed off to Turkey to join the Russian team for what is their pre-season, so he's trained pretty hard. "I would think he'll be pretty tired, but he is young and athletic, so I would be hoping that he is fine for Saturday."

Bulvitis away?
I just got a similar message - probably from the same birdie! Some paperwork to be sorted out before he'll be eligible to play on Saturday.

Pele's New Book
Defensive drivel? Were you thinking about the cup tie at home to Motherwell with that comment?
-
Bulvitis away?
He did apparently meet up with a Russian 2nd division side in Turkey, but he's told them he wants to remain in Inverness... It's probably the architecture in the city centre he loves.

Hmmmm... More on this here :017:

Bulvitis away?
If he's flying back to Inverness today, as Presley is suggesting, the loan deal must be back on again - hopefully, from now until the end of the season. Here's hoping he'll be fit, and available for selection to face PT on Saturday. Could give us a real boost....

As far as supporting other clubs go I've always been something of a Man U fan. That was up until last night... The abuse dished out by their support to Tevez and Bellamy (he was also hit by a coin) was totally unacceptable. I hope they get hammered in the final. If they didn't have Rooney, they wouldn't have much of a team.

Bulvitis away?
I'd like to think there will be some truth in this. Presley has only made 8 posts - all on Nauris and claims on one of these to be his brother. Whether matters can be resolved in time for Saturday remains to be seen. I've got my fingers crossed.

Maybe playing on Saturday?

And Yogi Hughes will more than likely be heading for Parkhead.

A year ago this day
I wouldn't dispute any of Renegade's comments, but I would add that, up until the departure of Bulvitis, there were signs that TB was actually starting to get the hang of this management business. The way he set out his stall for the Motherwell game was exemplary - he even succeeded in making them look like the Div 1 side. I felt that a serious challenge for the title might have been about to happen, but the poor guy must feel like the rug's been pulled from under his feet now, with the board's inability to sort out a deal with Bulvitis's club. If TB can somehow keep the good run of recent results going, he will rise dramatically in my estimation. Let's face it - what kind of future job offers in football management will he get if ICT, don't at least make the Number 2 spot by the end of the season?
-
Bulvitis away?
I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I have to confess to feeling a lot of sympathy for TB right now. The past few games had actually given us a wee bit of hope for the future, but to lose such a key player, who was improving and gaining in confidence with every game, must be like a kick in the teeth for him. As Hearach said on another thread the last thing TB needs to be doing just now is mucking about with different line-ups and formations. The board and DoF have a lot to answer for.

Can anyone translate that translation?

Dennis Wyness and Mo Camara
We're worse than we were when he left. So by your logic is he would look better now, in the present team, than he did in the team he was in about 18 months ago? Very interesting.... :004:

Dennis Wyness and Mo Camara
Wyness is not any better than Rooney, and I doubt if he'd be any better in a midfield supporting role than what we've already got. Given the present situation with Bully, what we are desperately needing is an experienced CB.

I'm trying not to negative, Big Yin.... It's ma new year's resolooshun...

Bulvitis away?
He's definitely gone back home (yesterday) according the Courier. His loan deal has now expired and it seems his club Tranzits Ventspils were expecting a fee from ICT to be paid to them as part of the deal. Negotiations are apparently still ongoing and TB is hoping a deal might be done later this week, which will allow him to return here.

Just ignore them, Lizi.... Hard to imagine a supporter more devoted to ICT than you. :cry01:

Paraguay footballer shot in head
Brings back memories of this guy.... On 2 July 1994, Escobar was shot outside "El Indio" bar, located in a Medell?n suburb. It was reported that the killer shouted "Goal!" (mimicking South American sporting commentators for their calls after a goal is scored) for each of the 12 bullets fired.[2] The murder was widely believed to be a punishment for the own goal.[3] It is not clear whether the murderer was one of the gambling syndicates who had bet large amounts of money on Colombia to qualify for the second round. The BBC issued an apology the following day after its pundit Alan Hansen commented on another match that "the Argentine defender wants shooting for a mistake like that."[4] Escobar's funeral was attended by 120,000 people and a statue was built in his honour. Every year people honour Escobar by bringing photographs of him to matches.[1]

Team for Thistle game
Yes, I would agree with above.... If the team are as committed, and perform as they did against Motherwell in the cup, they should win this comfortably. I would leave out Sanchez in favour of Imrie - otherwise the same line up as last Monday night, with Tokely at LB.
