  1. Very unlikely... Ayr have really improved this season since they signed Tam the bam McManus. I can see Dundee dropping two points (or more) here.
  2. I wonder if Johnboy's onto something here. Where was Lionel playing last night? Is Butcher considering this: -----------------------ESSON------------------- PROCTOR-----TOKELY-----MUNRO-------GOLLY ----------------DUNCAN----COX-------------- HAYES------------ODHIAMBO-----------DJEBI-ZADI ---------------------ROONEY------------------ I think it's worth a spin. Yeah.... That's even better, and you're at an obvious advantage here, in that you can count up to 11!
  3. Lionel was suberb last night - had one wee defensive mis-cue, which gave Clach a chance, but had some terrific runs through the middle - one of these got us a penalty. The guy really is a class act. The sooner someone realises he is not a defender the better.
  4. No one's mentioned goal difference yet! It is conceivable that this could go right down to the wire, with Dundee, County and ourselves all finishing up on the same points total. At the moment we are 3 goals better off than Dee, and 10 goals better off than County. They have games in hand over us of course, but both have tougher run ins, than we do, and I can't see either of them overhauling our superior GD. I'm getting to love this league..... It is so much more interesting than the boring SPL. In fact it's a shame somebody has to go up!
  5. Perhaps obvious to all you accountants out there, but not necessarily quite so obvious for all us ordinary punters. Not without a bit of head scratching anyway. Win and a defeat= 3points 2 draws= 2 points What has me scratching my head is, is Johnboy on the wind up or did he really fail to understand that? Thanks for trying to clarify that Birdy mate, but how can it be 3 points for a win and a defeat?
  6. Dundee have a much tougher run in than we have. For some reason 8 out of their remaining 11 fixtures are away games. These include Raith, County, QoS, Ayr United and us. I can see 3 defeats there, the way they've been playing.
  7. Perhaps obvious to all you accountants out there, but not necessarily quite so obvious for all us ordinary punters. Not without a bit of head scratching anyway.
  8. After watching Lionel in action in the Inverness Cup, I've altered my selection for Saturday... Esson Tokely Bulvitis Munro Golabek Proctor Cox Hayes Duncan Odhiambo Djebi-Zadi Rooney
  9. Ah well..... Nick's on a roll just now....
  10. Two draws would probably do us - provided we win all our other games.
  11. I thought both full backs were good - also the Number 4 in central midfield.... was that Martin Laing? Hope his injury is nothing serious - he didn't look too good when he went off.
  12. Not a bad night's entertainment on a pitch that was hardly conducive to smooth, silky football. Lionel & Bully formed a good partnership in central defence, each taking turns to come up to support the attack. Lionel was unlucky with a spectacular overhead strike (as mentioned by Renegade)
  13. So long as it's not one of these pubs where everyone seems to have short arms and deep pockets....
  14. Can anyone suggest a decent pub near, or around Grant St?
  15. Ok.... I confess.... It was me wot done it. Actually, I just did it to annoy Mannie, but am pleased to see Nick's gained a few more points since my vote....
  16. Here's some fecking optimism for you.... I'm going to stick my neck out and predict a 3-1 win for us on Saturday, with goals from Rooney and Odhiambo. This will be another of these performances which saw us completely outplay Motherwell and Dundee in recent weeks. Several have slated our performance on Saturday..... It wasn't all that bad. Morton had one thought in mind and that was not to conceed any goals. On the day their defenders played very well, and did succeed in making life very difficult for us. Let's face it, the game had 0-0 written all over it, until Nick Ross's superb piece of opportunism in the 65th minute.....
  17. Not so sure about that.... a cup semi against Celtic is a great wee bonus but promotion to the SPL is bound to be uppermost on their minds. Fancy the OF avoiding each other in the semi draw. Who would have thought it. I think Adams and Brewster will be totally focused on Saturday's game with us.
  18. It is a massive, massive game for both and could decide who gets to challenge faltering Dundee for the title. County probably will start as favourites, but that could backfire on them. If we can re-produce the form we showed at Dundee.... Who knows? I'd be quite happy with even an ugly draw here..... at least it would keep us in the hunt.
  19. Another ugly win at Dungwall on Saturday will be just fine by me.
  20. Assuming a Scottish Cup final between County and either half of the OF, what outcome would you ideally like to see?
  21. It's a very good question.... I'd love to see them get to the final, as it would clearly demonstrate that there is very little differnce in quality between the SPL and Div1. Would I actually get a ticket to go and support them in the final? Err, emm... No. .
  22. It's a tough one to call.... I'd go with Paisley's line-up, apart from Odhiambo instead of Sanchez. Just feel he's got a wee bit more of a physical presence. I agree with all those who are saying this isn't a game for Nick Ross, although he did enough yesterday to merit a place on the bench. What about tactics for this game? As the away side should we have a draw on our minds, and watch for the chance to hit them on the break, or should we try and take the game to them? I say the latter - we've been shown up in recent games to be lacking when it comes to defending even a two goal lead.
  23. No, not necessarily :004:
  24. I'll be there.... I like that wee ground. It'll be good to see some of the fringe players get a meaningful game.
  25. I like this line-up.... Has Cox got a twin brother?
