  1. We have four SSC memberships in the family and will be at the Italy match next Saturday. Having braved the Bertie era as TA footsoldiers it's nice to be able to get payback and to have tickets for big games like France and Italy. I don't think it's fair to see regulars miss out to the fairweather fans. But the moral of the story is to join the SSC. It's money well spent.
  2. Positives from today? Trying to be fair and objective - I would say that there weren't any. It's pointless trying to offload our failings on to the referee. ICT were absolutely gash - and that is not the fault of the referee! No excuses. Lack of discipline by certain players, fear of taking risks and a lack of obvious leadership on the park. I usually try to see positives in our team performances rather than dwelling on negatives but this performance was gash. Gash, gash, gash. Must do better.
  3. I've been a season ticket holder for some years now but this is the first time I've ever felt like leaving a game with 20 minutes to go. Bad luck for Bayne to get sent off but two bad tackles = sending off. No argument there. Tokely on the other hand ran almost the length of the pitch (like a man possessed) with one intention in mind - to nail the Motherwell player. He couldn't catch him with the ball so he took him out after he passed it. Rosscoe, is an ICT hero - but his behaviour today was about the stupidest I've ever seen on a football pitch. Two things were certain after that, 1) he was going to get sent off and 2) we were definitely going to get a sound thrashing from Motherwell. Credit to the 9 guys who had to press on against 11 men!! It was a hopeless task. Two final things:- 1) We have reverted to being a team of shot-shy attackers (so many of our goals last season came from long-range efforts). Come on guys - start taking a pot from distance!! 2) Late subs - unless you're trying to waste time when you're in the lead, don't do it. Brew, these late substitutions are pointless. We needed Rankin and Niculae with 30 minutes to go - not 10!!
  4. The County delusion continues. Even at the top of Division 2 they are punching way above their weight. They can dream of emulating the big city team nearby as they bask in the shadow of their great SPL neighbour - but they are deluded if they think they can ever achieve such a lofty position themselves. There was a blip of a few years in Div 1 until the big money dried up. **** Campbell was doing great things for them and now they sack him. :024: Looks like County are now heading down to their natural level - in Div 3 (with maybe the occasional season in Div 2 if they are lucky). Their greatest ambition must be to see the occasional player make the huge transition to the mighty ICT. Alternatively success and achievement may be gained by growing some prize-winning potatoes or cabbages on Victoria Park.
  5. How about setting up a a poll or petition on this site so that we can express our feelings pro or against the actions of the Club against Johndo today? That way they will know the mood of the fans.
  6. Yes, excellent result today - and could have been a complete rout. Best thing for me was the showboating with all the fancy touches - the best exponents of which were Marius, Barrius, Denzil, Cowie and even big Rosscoe had a go.
  7. I was sitting very close to events in the North Stand today. The stewards did seem to adopt a more softly softly (and highly selective) approach than their heavy-handed farce against the singing section at the Dunfermline game last season. I have no clue as to who orchestrated the eviction of Johndo but it all seemed quite vindictive to me. He was causing no harm, nuisance or anything to those around him. Far from it, he was doing his bit to help the atmosphere - and injected a dose of good humour while with us in the ground. Seems like the unwrapping of sweety papers is the only noise that is likely to be tolerated at TCS!!
  8. Kenneth MacKenzie (Coinneach Odhar/The Brahan Seer) has a good record at seeing into the future. There's just two drawbacks though. 1) He's dead - got burnt alive in a barrel of hot tar - and 2) Being from the wrong side of the Bridge, he was a Ross County supporter. Take your pick as to which of these two fates is the worst.
  9. Jimmy Calder ? are you free? We need you to take a turn for us between the sticks (or maybe even on them :004:)!!

    Grrr

Shameless glory hunters - all of them. I just look forward to the day when the Ugly Sisters are both rooted to the bottom of the SPL with no points after 6 games. My response to them on that day will be a truly schadenfreudistic :blah01: By the way, I'm feeling pretty aggrieved at having paid full whack for my season ticket - especially when you can now get them free with every packet of Kellog's Corn Flakes! :cry03:
  11. Prophetic or what? :clapping03: Well - you were right about the diving bit (I was only a few yards away at the time and had a good view) but a pity the rest of your prophecy didn't come true. The diving cheat should have got sent off. :33:
  12. Hey - those asterisks are not mine!! :018: Has the Taliban taken over the vetting of our typing? Or have Scun*thorpe United done something really bad that I haven't about? :024:
  13. Scotland, Scunthorpe United (well someone has to) and Boleskine Shinty Club. But I'm not telling you which other Scottish football club I used to follow follow!! :004:

    Deja Brew

If you think back to the day before we suspected that Brew might be leaving ICT for Dundee United, most, I'm sure, would agree that they were happy with Brew as manager at that point in time (OK - maybe some of us might not have been keen on substitutions not being being made until the 88th minute of a game - but that apart). I just hope we can all turn the clock back to then and get 100% behind our old/new manager.
  15. I would tend to agree with you Dons Fan - even if reluctantly. If Warnock was our manager then ICT would just be a short-term plaything until he got himself a 'real' job in the English Premiership or Championship. Might be going against the drift of this message board but I for one would welcome Brewster back. He is less likely now to jump ship after one season - and personally I do not have the stomach for another managerial change come next June!! "Better the devil you know" might be one way of looking at it although I tend to see Brew as an honest, decent guy. Some may not forgive him for quitting last time but I don't think he would have left for any club other than United. He now comes having learned some hard experiences which should make him a better manager. I would expect him to be fully committed to ICT this time around. He will also do something to improve the fitness level of the team which would be no bad thing!!
  16. Seems to have worked ok with Barry Wilson, Dennis Wyness and Richard Hastings. Why not Brew? Right now we are propping up the table with no points. Brewster is a safe pair of hands and someone we know. I would love to see him back at ICT.
  17. Or Joe Beltrami? He has a good record in helping folks get out of difficult situations!! :003:
  18. Brewster for me. He will have learned his lesson by now and will know just how good a thing he gave up when he left ICT. Can't say I'm keen on the idea of another rookie manager coming here to go through the same old cycle again-> has a wee bit of success -> 13 months later moves to the team he has always supported -> gets sacked after 6 months - it all gets a bit repetitive. Time to eat humble pie, I say, and go for Brewster - he's older and wiser now and is a known quantity!! (P.S. Just as well no-one said anything bad about him after he left us to go to Yenitet :rolleyes02:).
  19. Stonewaller!! As soon Granty lunged in it was clear a penalty was going to be given. I feel even more persuaded now that I've seen it on TV. On the subject of penalties - we seem to have a lot more given against us compared to the number we get awarded. Juanjo, where are you?
  20. Don't know how many metres away from you I was sat at Fir Park on Saturday Naelifts but - yup - we seemed to be watching the same game and I agree with all you say. I found it an entertaining game of football and - like others - was right scunnered to see us give the game away in the last few minutes. I was unimpressed by the screaming and shouting at the ref by Russel Duncan and Mike Fraser. Did they really think they were going to change the refs mind? They need to grow up - all you get for that is a yellow (or red) card!! But as I've said elsewhere on this forum - if we play like we did against Motherwell in the first half then we will not be in relegation trouble this season. There are plenty of positives to be taken from Saturday's match. A little bit of squabbling amongst players does not suggest meltdown - it just tells us that these guys care passionately enough about the team, its performance and results!!
  21. Agreed on both points EWS although I thought the game changed progressively as Denzil and Marius were subbed though. Even if they weren't troubling the Motherwell keeper terribly much at least they were holding the ball further up the field and bringing others into the game. I'm afraid Graham Bain and Deano chased shadows when they came on. Quite significant that Rosscoe - a defender - should score the goal. I'm not discouraged by the performance, however. If we will play enough games like that (especially with our first half performance) we will get all the points. The defence melted as the game finished but I would still give the same four another game so that they can prove that they can give us 90 minutes (or maybe that should be 91) of concetration. Our support wasn't big but we seemed to make a lot more noise than the home support for much of the game. Final thoughts on the crowd of 4,269. Seems like Motherwell have the same ability to under-count as County have in over-counting when it comes to crowd figures!! :rolleyes02:
  22. Well done to Charlie, Parky and the entire squad for another excellent season!!
  23. This whole situation is proof positive that the club are more interested in the Fat Cats in Hospitality than the ordinary fan who supports the club at great expense and in all weathers! BTW how often have you recognised the faces of known die-hard OF fans in the photo gallery of our (otherwise excellent) match day programme being entertained by sponsors? Let them have their hospitality by all means – we need to make cash from every possible source – but I would rather see photos of the ordinary, genuine, faithful ICT fan who supports the team through thick and thin.
  24. Yes, I thought the team played a good attacking game and I was delighted to see young Sutherland get a chance and also to see Rory score the winning goal (revenge for Dunfermline beating us in the Cup semi-final 3 years ago). Ritchie Hart was his usual forward-going self but tended to run out of ideas as he approached the penalty box. Barry had a good game when he came on - apart from the occasional 'blond-moment'. Well done lads. Another 3 points in the bag!! :clapping03:
