  1. Tried to get to the bottom of this little mystery and wish I never bothered now. Had a look on the SPL and SFL sites and I might need a Philadelphia lawyer to sort this one out. 3.2.3 Players Sent Off for a) Denying the Opposing Team or an Opponent a Goal or an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity as Defined by Law 12 :thumb04: Using Offensive, Insulting or Abusive Language and/or Gestures c) Receiving a Second Caution in the Same Match A player who is sent off for any of these offences will be suspended for his club's next match in the Competition in which he was sent off. The penalty points for the offence will not be recorded. 3.4 Serving of Suspensions Suspensions incurred by players shall be served in the Competition in which they are incurred, except when the qualification detailed in Paragraph 3.2 is applicable, and shall be measured by the relevant team of the club playing the requisite match or matches. 3.2 Sendings-Off 3.2.1 Players Sent Off for Serious Foul Play or Violent Conduct A player who is sent off for either of these offences will have 12 penalty points added to his relevant disciplinary record. In addition, he will automatically be suspended until such time as his club's team(s) has completed its next match in: a) For clubs in membership of the Scottish Premier League: the Competition for which he would otherwise be eligible for selection (Please refer to Appendix 3 - Guidance Notes on Serving of Suspensions). ***I believe this should read appendix 4*** Appendix 4 Guidance Notes on Serving of Suspensions Whilst the Disciplinary Procedures are based upon the principle of serving a suspension in the competition in which it occurs, a qualification to this exists in relation to automatic one match suspensions incurred as a result of a player being sent off for any of the following offences: Serious Foul Play Violent Conduct Spitting on an Opponent or Any Other Person The following notes are intended to give guidance on the various situations which may arise and which require to be covered by the wording of the relevant sections of the Disciplinary Procedures, given the range of competitions they embrace. The match schedule of the various teams of a club will be key to the serving of suspensions and it is important to bear this in mind. Contact should be made with the Disciplinary Department in order to clarify any issue relating to the serving of any suspension resulting from these offences. For Players of Scottish Premier League Clubs The following definitions shall apply:- "recognised first team player" ? a player who has been named in the team list for any of his club's (or his previously registered club's) 30 first team matches preceding the date of his offence. In cases where a player is regularly listed in the team list for more than one of his club's teams, his level of participation for each team will be used to determine by which category the player should be recognised (i.e. whichever team he has the most appearances for, will be the one used for categorisation purposes). - a recognised first team player sent off in a SPL match will be suspended for his club's next match in any of the following competitions, irrespective of the competition: the Scottish Premier League, The Scottish Cup or the Scottish Football League Cup, as applicable. - a recognised first team player sent off in a Scottish Cup match or a Scottish Football League Cup match will be suspended for his club's next match in any of the following competitions, irrespective of the competition: The Scottish Premier League, the Scottish Cup or the Scottish Football League Cup. - a recognised first team player sent off in a SPL Reserve League match will be suspended for his club's next match in any of the following competitions, irrespective of the competition: The Scottish Premier League, the Scottish Cup or the Scottish Football League Cup, as applicable. - a recognised first team player sent off in a match played under the auspices of a District or County Football Association will be suspended for his club's next match in any of the following competitions, irrespective of the competition: The Scottish Premier League, the Scottish Cup or the Scottish Football League Cup. I don't know about you guys, but it seems as clear as mud, although the bold statement may be the get out clause for the SFA and he may well be banned for the next SPL game.............maybe

  6. Yes, he is nice, but I couldnae eat a whole one.
  7. I see he would be keen to play for Scotland should he be asked by Burley. SFA trying to change the eligibility criteria. Reversing the trend from the likes of McGreedy and McCarthy. Good on you I say, decent player with plenty of pace. From BBC site
  8. Foran is by far our best bet to get goals consistently once he is up to speed, he fairly gets stuck in.
  9. So it's Rooney, Foran and Stevie up front for Saturday.
  10. foran will be kept busy, he has been one of our best players recently.

Here are a few fer you - 1) which player ultimately cost ICT a place in a Hampden semi final ? a) Finnegan 2) Name the player whose ineptitude cost the club at least ?250,000.00? a) No individual, it is a team game, and ?250k is an exaggerated figure. 3) Name the player who has only just encouraged a section of the support to take him seriously? a) Dougie Imrie 4) Name the player that many fans hold their breaths when he gets on the ball? a)Lionel, he takes my breath away with his entertaining style.

Hastings proved only one thing yesterday, he is still rubbish, he offered nothing going forward and his crosses match Imries shots and Duncans passing.

Not a season ticket game, home team splits the dosh. Bairns had a decent crowd up for this one, probably close to 1000. My guesstimate would be nearer 4000.
  24. Would all those who criticised the ref like to publicly apologise now. Russell Duncan will never win an Oscar. As it happened I thought from the North Stand that he went down far too theatrically..........apparently TV shows this to be the case. Lionel rightly sent off, a la David Weir, no complaints there either. Some of the 50/50 challenges were flagged up by the ref too easily, both sides having their share of mystery decisions against them. However, lets not fall into the old firm stereo type and blame the ref every time we lose. Down to ten men I was still confident we could pull this off or a replay at the least. However, it was not to be despite some frantic scrambles in the Falkirk box the ball just never fell kindly enough for us, combined with Mallo's reflex saves we missed out on a great opportunity to progress. Imrie undid a lot of his good work by choosing the wrong option at the end, shooting wildly over when a pass may have been more productive, he saw the headlines before he shot methinks. One great run evading five scything tackles before being crowded out, but not enough composure with the final ball too often meant it was to no avail. Great save in the first half by Mallo when Tokely lofted a header towards a seemingly empty net only for the keeper to make up a lot of ground and claw the ball to safety. Tokely McMagics and Foran get pass marks. Grantie gets a minus for constant hoofing, Duncan for cheating, Imrie for not passing, Black for stopping the ball with his face, Lionel for the rugby tackle, he should have left it to Esson, Kerr for not being fit, Esson for having nothing to do, Rooney for not being good enough, and the ref just for sheer inconsistency. Ah well, out of the cup, but not out of the league yet. Johndo stop stirring it up regarding Lionel, the sites busy enough without the inane ramblings. MoM probably the Falkirk keeper, he was certainly kept on his toes and ultimately kept Falkirk in the cup.
  25. Fantastic comments from Butcher, he really seems to be making the players feel wanted. Black is the one top quality player we have at the moment, I would love to see him here next season, but as Butch says, we are in limbo at the moment until it becomes clear where we will be plying our trade next season. mbv, have a read over the forum rules please, a link is provided under the heading of site info at the top of the page. 2.
