  3. An elderly Scotsman lay dying in his bed. While suffering the agonies of impending death, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favourite biscuits wafting up the stairs. He gathered his remaining strength, and lifted himself from the bed. Leaning on the wall, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort, gripping the railing with both hands, he crawled downstairs. With laboured breath, he leaned against the door-frame, gazing into the kitchen. Were it not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven, for there, spread out upon waxed paper on the kitchen table were literally hundreds of his favourite biscuits, freshly baked. Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of love from his devoted Scottish wife of sixty years, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man? Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself towards the table, landing on his knees in crumpled posture. His aged and withered hand trembled towards a biscuit at the edge of the table, when it was suddenly smacked by his wife with a spatula.............. "F**k off" she said, "they're for the funeral." _________________________________________________________________

  6. It's a big bad world out there reedee, dawg eat dawg and all that stuff. It happens to them all, even Rangers and Celtic, they can be bought out by bigger clubs that have the buying power. It may seem unfair, but it's the way of the world I'm afraid. For clubs similar to ICT, we will, unfortunately, always have to sell our most promising players at some stage as we will be unlikely to meet wage demands when they improve their status, then, when the big bad man comes knocking at the door, we sell in the equally big bad transfer window, before the players contract runs out and we end up with nothing. Tying players up on decent contracts is all part of the bigger game, as that is where the money will be made when the time is right to sell on our stars. I worry about the likes of Black, how much longer can we keep the wolves from the door, and we will only get a good price if he still has some length of contract to run, no matter how good he is. On the other side of the coin, much as we adore Russelldinho, not many clubs will be breaking down the gates at ICT to spend their pennies, as he is not such a saleable commodity, probably seen as Mr average midfielder and not as youthful as Black either, all of this means he accepts what ICT think he is worth or he moves along if anyone else fancies picking up his wage demands. Not the end of the world for us if he goes, but we like to keep what we have, family club and all that, however, he could be replaced fairly cheaply methinks, therefore he better be careful with what he thinks he is worth to the club. Hope that explains a little bit of the wheeling and dealing going on behind the scenes.

  10. Allegedly when he went to Sidney the locals did not want him there and they did their uttmost to get rid of him, hence the short term in charge. Not sure what the background is to that, maybe Gabby can enlighten us.
  11. Hold on a minute, whats all this about. Barry was shown in the squad on the BBC site before the game was called off. All of a sudden he is not worty of a testimonial. Strewth.
  12. If you guys really believe that then yer living in the past I'm afraid. These would have been good memories, but thats all it would ever be, memories. ICT is the way forward now, like it or not. I never supported either of the merger teams, my preference was for Clach, but I am glad that there is a team representing Inverness in the SPL.

  20. From Wikipedie The UK folk-rock scene had known about Gray for some time before his breakthrough into the pop mainstream in 2000, but after a few marginally successful releases through the 1990s, Gray's breakthrough came with the worldwide release of his fourth album, White Ladder, in 1998. This was a critical and commercial success and included his best-known songs: "This Year's Love", "Babylon" and "Please Forgive Me". In August 2000, "Babylon" hit #5 in the UK singles chart; it remains his biggest UK hit to date. In the United States, the album received a boost from jam-band leader Dave Matthews, who made it the first release by ATO Records, the record company he co-founded. "Babylon" was also the first of three US chart entries for Gray to date. In Ireland, White Ladder remains the biggest-selling album ever.[1]
