  1. It's a big bad world out there reedee, dawg eat dawg and all that stuff. It happens to them all, even Rangers and Celtic, they can be bought out by bigger clubs that have the buying power. It may seem unfair, but it's the way of the world I'm afraid. For clubs similar to ICT, we will, unfortunately, always have to sell our most promising players at some stage as we will be unlikely to meet wage demands when they improve their status, then, when the big bad man comes knocking at the door, we sell in the equally big bad transfer window, before the players contract runs out and we end up with nothing. Tying players up on decent contracts is all part of the bigger game, as that is where the money will be made when the time is right to sell on our stars. I worry about the likes of Black, how much longer can we keep the wolves from the door, and we will only get a good price if he still has some length of contract to run, no matter how good he is. On the other side of the coin, much as we adore Russelldinho, not many clubs will be breaking down the gates at ICT to spend their pennies, as he is not such a saleable commodity, probably seen as Mr average midfielder and not as youthful as Black either, all of this means he accepts what ICT think he is worth or he moves along if anyone else fancies picking up his wage demands. Not the end of the world for us if he goes, but we like to keep what we have, family club and all that, however, he could be replaced fairly cheaply methinks, therefore he better be careful with what he thinks he is worth to the club. Hope that explains a little bit of the wheeling and dealing going on behind the scenes.
  2. It gives you the opportunity to visit the outback of Dingwall and take in the Scottish Cup game. Ross County v St Johnstone, R5, 15:00 Maybe take some food parcels through and warm clothing, woolly socks and that sort of thing.
  3. I think I need a lie down.
  4. apparently very cross sometimes :blah01:
  5. Allegedly when he went to Sidney the locals did not want him there and they did their uttmost to get rid of him, hence the short term in charge. Not sure what the background is to that, maybe Gabby can enlighten us.

Hold on a minute, whats all this about. Barry was shown in the squad on the BBC site before the game was called off. All of a sudden he is not worty of a testimonial. Strewth.
  7. Yes, it can't be helped I suppose.

  12. Did I catch MFR correctly. I thought they said we have secured Cleland as youth coach from Livi. That may help if Dorrans wants familiar faces at his next club. from Wikipedia Cleland started his career with Scottish Premier Division club Dundee United, for whom he made 159 appearances, lifting the Scottish Cup in 1994. He was snapped up by Rangers on a free transfer in 1995 and established himself in the right-back slot at Ibrox. After over 100 appearances for the Glasgow club, he joined English FA Premiership side Everton along with manager Walter Smith in 1998; however, his time in England was blighted with constant injury problems, and he only made 44 appearances before retiring in 2002.
  13. Utter nonsense, if he was not playing for us we would be a few points worse off.
  14. Wells pitch is like a desert at this time of the year, and it has been overused this season due to Gretna playing home games there. Would be no surprise if this game fails to beat the weather. Basically there is a game being played at Fir Park each week, the grass (sand) has no time to recover and it is not the best surface at the best of times.
  15. "must have taken some patience to write that!" got you now :029: detective indeed.
  16. Here it is, the eagerly awaited tm4tj report on todays game......... ICT 4 - 1 ABERDEEN Bayne first half hat-trick eases ICT to a win over a mostly inexperienced Dons team :clapping03: ICT.....team.....Dons Zibi...................Soutar Gillespie............McVitie Duff...................D Smith Watt.................Duff Kerr..................Skinner Bazza................Crawford Hart...................Pawlett Vigurs................Jonathon Smith Patti...................McGuire Bayne.................Aluko Wyness..............S Smith Looked like a 4-4-2 set up. Cold breezy afternoon watched by around 200 spectators. ICT were first to show with Barry shooting wide after a couple of minutes. Patti next to try his luck with 20 yarder but Soutar well placed to pluck it out of the air. Around the nine minute mark, ball broke to Hart after good challenge in middle of park Vigurs played it forward to Hart, he did well to get a great cross in from the right and left Bayners with a simple header from six yards. Minute later, Hart curling free kick fractionally too high for the strikers to get on the end of. Dons reply was a shot over after Kerr lost out to Aluko on the left edge of the box. Next to try his luck was Denzil from six yards with a header from Wilsons cross, but Soutar pulls off diving save to his left. After 25 minutes a stinging shot from Hart after Bazza and Wyness combined to lay the ball off, Richie hitting a ferocious shot from over twentyfive yards but Soutar warmed his palms on that one and the ball was cleared. ICT well on top and no surprise when Bazza shot was parried to his left by the keeper but Bayne reacted slickly to hook the ball low into the net from an acute angle. McGuire replied for Dons, shooting just over with long range curling effort. Just around the half hour, Wyness knocked home number three after Hart had made a great surge down the right to catch a through ball, turning his cross perfectly into the box for Denzil to score. Patti seemed to be taking things casually, literally, as he even managed to pass the ball accurately from a horizontal position, whilst lying nonchalantly on his side but still winning the ball and laying it off. Next goal just before half time saw Patti slalom his way across the face of the Dons defence as he cut in from the left edge of the box, he evaded three defenders and just when he was about to pull the trigger the last defender edged the ball away from him, Bayners stole in and from around the penalty spot drilled the ball low past Soutar. Colin Williamson replaced Duff at half time, as the breeze stiffened, Zibi first in my notebook when he badly sliced a clearance high and wide. Wyness first to threaten after good through ball but Soutar beat his shot away, Dons broke upfield only for them to chip a shot over from a tight angle on the left. Next up a bit of one man head tennis saw Bayne drop the ball for Hart but his awkward volley flew wide. Dons free kick made Zibi work as he comfortably held the shot low to his left. Bazza then slipped Denzil through but he missed low to keepers right as he narrowed the angle. Goal for Aberdeen as Aluko used his pace wide left and squeezed a cross in where it was turned home by sub Ross, Zibi maybe looked suspect misjudging the pace of Aluko as he came out to the edge of the box but Aluko stabbed the ball round him and sprinted clear. Bayne then did a spot of wrestling when he inexplicably hauled down the Dons defender after he held off a Bayne challenge, something he would have been booked for in an SPL game. Wyness volleyed wide as ICT pressed forward. TV save from Soutar as Patti flicked Bazza's free kick goalward, diving full length high to his left. Game had opened out and Zibi saved easily from a narrow angle as Dons broke upfield. Repairs were required after Hart and Soutar clashed going for a through ball, both returned to the fray after treatment. As the wind got colder and spots of rain fell, the game petered out, Patti and Wyness both spurning half chances by shooting over, Patti after good link play down the right. Bayne did exceptionally well in the first half, he certainly had the Midas touch, he tried all sorts today, I think he must have been practising on the play station before he came out, he even tried Tennis and Wrestling. Led the line brilliantly and the ball stuck to him, like sh*** to a blanket. He grabs the headlines but personally, I thought Richie Hart put a lot of effort into this game and set up plenty opportunities for others, made lung bursting runs and fizzed a couple of shots goalwards, that is why he is todays tm4tj Man of the Match. Comfortable win as the scoreline suggests, if we had taken our chances in the second half it could well have been six or seven, but we did what we had to do and restricted Dons to half chances, Zibi being for the large part untroubled. Good display by Dale Gillespie playing in Rossco's spot, Duff and Kerr also looked the part as did Watt, who does like to play the ball out of defence, but he was not really under too much pressure. Bazza always available, Patti and Vigurs backing up and tracking back well and Denzil easing his way past defenders and not wasting many balls, just what we expect from him. Colin Williamson slotted in well when he came on. Usual suspects in attendance, some lasting longer than others, plenty coughing and sniffing as the influenza strikes again. Right, I am fed up typing now, off to warm my hands on a cup of tea.
  17. He has scored two for Partick tonight against Dunfermline in the cup. 2-1 for Partick V Pars full time 3-1 for Dons V Falkirk full time 1-0 for Well V Hearts, latest
  18. Oh well.
  19. I've changed my mind, I might be there. Nobody else interested I see.
  20. quotey quotey by fpbc1935 "How on earth he got man of the match on Sunday was ridiculous" Now lets see, how do you think he got Man of the Match. Couple of things here. The decision to give Rossco MoM was given before he missed the chance at the end of the game. As far as I understand, MoM at the stadium is decided by people who sponsor the game in some way, no panel of experts, just people in the sponsors group. Maybe not the most scientific way to decide something that will upset the fans, but someones got to do it. If he was given MoM on the radio then that is different and probably has more credence. For what it's worth, although there is no pleasing some folk, I thought Rossco performed well, despite the miss, but he was in the right place to have a go, more than can be said for some of the players. Have you based this decision to berate Rossco on actual opinions gained during matches or just from some opinions on football forums, because as you can see opinions vary. Was he MoM, for me it was Ian Black, and he has been for the last month. I agree with Ron.
  21. he is on loan for a month, not his debut though, third game I believe. There is a thread on the non ICT board regarding his exploits.

:021: Congratulations Jock, you have just set a new record for consecutive rotflmao smileys, unfortunately, you have used up your quota for this season and the function will now be removed from your profile. Have a nice day.
  23. Can't see us scoring, ever again. The only team to play for a century without ever scoring or being relegated. Unbelievable.

What if what if tommy. In many peoples opinion Rossco played ok yesterday. He was not my choice as man of the match but there you go. Have your opinion, your right, that is why the forum is here, but in my opinion your opinion is misleading people into thinking that Rossco is over the hill. Roy McBain was worthy of heavy criticism yesterday if you want a scapegoat, as in my opinion he was rubbish, and Russeldinho had one of his poorer games. But no, who is the name that crops up on here constantly, supertokely. By the way, I think he is doing just fine, criticism where it is due and all that.
