  1. Just back from A&E, walking over Kessock Bridge after game and stood on a rusty screw, entered foot about one inch. Anyway, we were well worth the draw, despite the posession Celtic had in the first half. Great strike from Grantie, the Innes bar sponsored player, and with a run of the ball, Bayne might just have got more contact on the ball and nicked a goal for us. I like Bayners style, get fing stuck into them, well done that man. Brown never really tested apart from shot creeping wide. Good defensive display again, well done Dodsy & co. Midfield looked lost in the first half, and dare I say it, I thought Rankin was again woeful. Denzil just does not mix it, not his type of game. Hart worth a shot and who has hidden Morgan? Overall, we deserved the point and almost won all three. Good gutsy performance especially second half, well done team. Yes we were totally outsung off the park, but hey, we still got the same points as them :003:

Denzil is a good footballer, but the problem is we employ him as a striker, sombody to score goals. We have an abundance of midfielders, it is a pity he has to drop deeper to come from the midfield rather than getting the service he used to receive from Mann and Robson on the edge of the box...........scoop and double shuffle later, the ball was in the net. Thats what we want, not another midfielder. Personally, Bayne has as much right to get a start as Denzil.

Well done 1more, I too have removed Hearts from my wardrobe as it became more and more difficult to put my hand on my heart and say they were the team I was supporting. When my sons grew a bit older they made their own decisions, one being to stop taking him to see Ross County playing, the second to buy him ICT tops instead of Hearts tops. You get a 'feel' for the club the longer you stand on the touchlines watching them plough their way through the divisions and put teams from the south to the sword, even in blizzards and howling gales. Yes it does take time to find your true identity, but once you do find it, there is only one team to focus on, and that is when over the years the fanbase will become stronger. Therefore, lets back the club and whoever is at the helm, they are doing the best with limited resources.
  4. WoW clacher, is that you? Good post with many valid points, maybe not what everyone wants to admit, but nonetheless true.

Post more later when I get a chance......We were under the cosh for fair parts of the game, but Dods coped brilliantly and was my MoM. Black started well but faded and was subbed later but Dods remained solid. We got what we deserved.....a draw, fair enough.
  6. He is a professional and his integrity is at stake, he will perform admirably.
  7. It appears to me the problem is caused by Dods. He is still under contract and if we decide to play him or not is up to CC to decide. He has been partly at fault for the goals this season, but he has not suddenly become a bad player over the close season. Mental therapy may solve the problem, anyone know a good shrink........cold water does it for me. I say we should keep him to the contract, whether he plays or not. If he plays we could get extra revenue worth more than the transfer fees, Sky TV, cup run, league position etc. This nonsense about cashing him in now is just surrendering our rights under the contract, a legal document. He should be going nowhere unless we deem him of no further benefit to the club. Play him today Charlie, it's your choice. No, God, none of these players suddenly become bad overnight, and Munro will be a big player for us this year. I see know one is keen to slag off Brown for his part in all this, he was as much to blame for the St Mirren goals. The Dons goal was not so culpable for the defence, pass beat them whether Dods waved his arms or not, he was not going to catch Crawford. The back five from last season were the reason we were so good, aided by Dargoals, and I see no reason they will not feature heavily this season as well.
  8. Coffee smells fine for me, and Charlie likes the smell as well. Two games into the season is no time to pass judgement.

If you noticed the goals Derry scored against Gretna, most of them were stunning strikes, the others were only brilliant goals, full marks to Derry for the quality of their goals :clapping04:

Hey, how about we turn the tables on Brew and snatch Wilkie from under his nose :016: If Dods really wants to move and has no intention of giving 100% then he would have to leave, but at a cost.
  11. Personally I would start with all three of them, but if not I can't see Dargo being the fall guy. Therefore based on that Bayne gives us more aerial threat and roughs up the defences. I said after the St Mirren game that Wyness was the link man when the midfield disappeared to help the flagging defence, in fact I think I voted him as my MoM. But, basing it on the chances that CC will drop Dargo or play three up front at home,(perish the thought), and the fact that he liked the way the team performed once Bayne came on at Pitoddrie, then that is my reason and opinion. I also think Denzil is a very good player for us and if he put himself about a bit more would be even better, he has all the attributes to score great goals with skill, but does lack the extra pace of Dargo and the heading ability of Bayne. So, this Saturday, I would start with Dargo and Bayne. I would also bring Morgan back, or has he fallen foul of the management? Not so sure about the central defender bit, but maybe he could.
  12. I thought he was too big as well. :010: Of course he is SPL standard..........what is this SPL standard we keep hearing about, is it something special. He gives his all for the cause, and should be ahead of Denzil at the moment. He kick started our SPL two seasons ago and lets not forget that. He will come good given the chance and I don't mean ten and fifteen minute subs appearances. Rumble them up Bayners, and get stuck into the nancy boys this weekend. Thats a thumbs up from me. :003:

Dods................erm...........erm, eh, no, thats a new one, transfer speculation....gosh, what next. Rusty, definitely, that will be the problem, but he won't go from being our best player last season to being the scapegoat for the lacklustre defensive displays. The whole defence should take a look at what is going wrong, and I include Brown in that, he was as culpable as anyone. Anyway, lets get right behind whoever plays in whatever position......................then we can critisise after the game :015: Who would be a professional footballer footballer :010:

Saturday definitely, the worst of the worst :010: Falkirk, three goals from four breakaways, we had about a dozen good chances to score, we could have played till midnight and still not scored, Wyness missed one from six inches under the crossbar, it wasn't going to happen. St Mirren, throwing the game away, defending poorly, and not being able to create anything, overall inept display, possibly the worst yet, no creativity, no urgency no good.

The team did not give us much to cheer about I'm afraid. No loud raucous cheering from us when the defenders gifted the goals, only heads in hands in despair. Anyway, we only have a core fanbase of aroung 3,000. Just as well St Mirren took along 800-1,000 or the season would have started with a fizzle. The general apathy goes on in the Inverness area, and the game is still pricing itself out of the market. Performances like that will not help the bank balance either. The first half was a shocker and fans were disgruntled before halftime. The icing on the cake for the disgruntled came when our mainstays broke and we let Saints in. If the club wants to attract more fans, then the club will have to have something on offer to get them through the gates. This was not on display on Saturday. :019:

Settle down Andrew, one bad game doesn't make a season! Are you the chairman of the Caff fan club? It was a disappointing start, but CC would have had his reasons for selecting the players that failed on Saturday. I am sure he will sort it before long. Some were maybe not first choice but should still have given us a platform to build on, but too mant players were hiding on Saturday, with the back five, including Caff, the biggest sinners. I could not see St Mirren scoring on Saturday, but we gifted them two goals to spoil the day.

It's a shame really, a couple of years ago Golly was a hero, leading by example and scoring the first SPL goal in the victory over Dunfermline at Pittodrie. I suppose we all have short memories when the chips are down. unfortunately along with others yesterday his performance will be reviewed by CC and this may result in changes for next week. We can all have off days, and yes it is not pretty to direct it all at one person. Those that did not perform well, will already know that, and CC will be on the case on Monday.

might as well shut the message boards down now then johnboy who will you find to moan about the Lebanon then
  20. Well well..............it's all been said already. One of our worst ever defensive displays and that was the difference between the teams. motm.................nobody stood out, plenty of contenders for worst of the match, and they were all in our team. Wyness took a bit of slating pre-season but he was the one player who took the time to look up and try and link the play, him, Black and Duncan. Dargo took his goal well, and then........erm, well that was all. Rankin a fairly quiet game, good cross for the goal, but did not stand out, but then again did not stand out for the wrong reasons either. The rest, forget it and come back next week better for it. Not sure why a couple of players were not in the starting eleven. But if they were all fit and suspension free, Tokely Hastings Morgan Hart and Bayne should be considered for next week, and Broonie better buck up his ideas and command his box, or maybe he will find himself warming the bench. All in all, a poor display and not one that will have the locals rushing out to snap up season tickets. The first half was best forgotten, in fact I have forgotten it, did anything happen. Not sure what is happening with Golly, but the sooner it is fixed, the better. Look on the bright side, we will probably not play worse than this.....or can we :010:
  21. badger, pretty much spot on. The disappointment for me was we seemed to gift both goals, this from a reliable defence..........mysterious. Would need to see the goals again, but from the North stand, we wondered if they wered both avoidable. Not a lot of happy bunnys near me :019: My only reservations, are that this was the first game and we are historically poor at home in the SPL.
  22. I am led to believe that Caff will start this game as will Rankin.
  23. or even in the stocks :010:
