  1. To be fair, the competition hasn't been that hot.
  2. We're seeing the Jekyll and Hyde of Golobart again tonight. He's made a couple of great interceptions, but that casualness in possession that he showed in his early games has come back tonight and almost cost us a couple of times. That looks like him off now anyway. Even he has made mistakes tonight, we could well do without that - he's been excellent in the league the last few weeks.
  3. Tuffey has made up for the first leg a couple of times over tonight.
  4. Oh terrific. Hayes and Foran booked for trying to fight each other...
  5. Charity thing ... "Beards for Bairns" http://ictfc.com/new...ards-for-bairns Ah, cheers. Billy Mackay's not making much of a fist of it, is he? Smooth as the proverbial baby's...
  6. This guy is the gift that just keeps giving.
  7. Anyone know why half the team has sprouted beards, by the way?
  8. Hooray. Andy Shinnie coming on. We need a bit of creativity and hopefully he can provide it. On for Cox rather than Tansey though.
  9. That could be the best thing for this game. We've been poor so far - too many slack passes and no-one really trying to take the game to Dunfermline. We're better than this and hopefully we'll start showing it now.
  10. Esson Piermayr Tokely Golobart G. Shinnie Foran Cox Hayes A. Shinnie Tade McKay We need to link play forward to McKay a little better than we have been doing so he's not too isolated, and Andrew Shinnie has the ability to do that. For me Cox was more impressive than Tansey in deep midfield on Saturday so he keeps his place. I'd have Esson in goals but I wonder if Butcher will play Tuffey again, as he presumably had intended to play Tuffey in the cup games this season.
  11. Fine summary from ictchris. Gillet also deserves a mention for playing the sweeper role with such composure - one of the best games I've seen him have for us. The players' attitude was first class and it was great to be there to watch them record their first cleanshit of the season. We could do with a little more creativity going forward against Hearts though- I'd like to see Andrew Shinnie coming in, maybe for Ross (although he had a decent game yesterday), to link play up to Mackay a little more fluently.
  12. He was superb yesterday. For the first time this season we looked like we had a properly synchronised defence yesterday, with Golobart coming to meet the first ball and Gillet sweeping behind him. Gives Butcher an interesting decision when Tokely is fit again - does he stay on the bench, replace Piermayr, or come back into the middle? On the basis of yesterday I'd certainly stick with Golobart and Gillet in the middle.
  13. I do think we need something else up front, whether a loanee or permanent signing. Tade has got a reasonable tally this season, mostly due to incredible workrate and persistence, but he's currnetly playing wide, and despite the flashes of skill he's shown, Mackay looks like he'll struggle with the lone striker role beacuse he doesn't have the strength or presence to win the ball in the air and hold it up. With Doran back, we could play Tade through the middle again and Doran wide right, or else change the system and play 4-4-2 with Tade and Mackay together up front, but I'm still a bit dubious about whether Doran contributes enough consistently to be a regular starter. On the basis of the first half of the season Butcher doesn't seem to fancy Shane all that much, so that leaves us with pretty limited options. I'd be delighted to be proved wrong, but from what I've seen this season I think we might struggle to get clear of the relegation zone if we can't sort something else out in the striking department.
  14. All the more reason to join in 10p Bowling! Why is there no 'Dislike' button on this new forum set up?
  15. Good news. I have about 32p to last me until the last Thursday of the month so probably wasn't going to make this.
  16. The camera angle made it look like I could have been sitting on Govan Jaggie's knee: the Highland Krankies...
  17. Either of these, please. Arbroath away is one of the great football experiences, and I've still never made it to Peterhead, so that would be one more chalked off. If both ugly sisters get through, then QotS at Palmerston - another of the great away days.
  18. Aye, somehow I don't think he's going to become a regular on Open All Mics. Agree, though, not a bad result at all after an early sending off.
  19. Lots of early goals - County, Motherwell, Falkirk, all 1-0 up - and Cowdenbeath 1-0 up on Hibs after only 19 seconds!
  20. Seems he is playing, alongside Cox and Foran. Decent decision IMO - shows Butcher is absolutely committed to the Cup and has decided to play the strongest outfield team he feels is available to him at the moment, even if Davis won't be there after today.
  21. Excellent news. If we can hang onto to Davis and maybe bring another striker in then it could be a very good second half of the season. Not too bothered about Chippendale tbh.
  22. Flattered as I am to have scored ICT's only penalty of 2011, given my record in the pub it's more likely I'd be caught napping at the back...
