  1. Great stuff, with a couple acquisitions to the playing squad hopefully still to come, it's exciting times for us.
  2. What a result against an in-form Dunfermline team. Really pleasing to hear that Mulraney was giving their defence a torrid time, by the sounds of it he could be an excellent signing. So far the new signings are looking fantastic, McNaughton has been solid, Mulraney has looked good, Billy King is proven at this level, and Scott Boden is already off the mark. Very pleasing indeed, bring Arbroath and the new season!
  3. 1. Celtic - think they'll bring in one or two to improve the squad and could be a breakthrough season for Christie. 2. Rangers - on paper they're much stronger than any of below teams and have a very good manager in Warburton. 3. Aberdeen 4. Hearts - not sure on this one, don't agree with their signing policy and it could disrupt the team. 5. St Johnstone - while they have Tommy Wright they should remain top 6. 6. Dundee - as above post, if they keep their strikers they'll do well 7. Inverness - if we add a couple more decent players I'll be more optimistic. 8. motherwell 9. Ross county 10. Patrick Thistle - could be higher up considering they've kept most of their best players. 11. Kilmarnock - haven't a clue about anyone they've signed, they have a very young and inexperienced squad so they might struggle. 12. Hamilton Accies - have been poor since Alex Neil left.
  4. Would be surprised if he chose a championship club over us, although he may not have fancied moving up north. I was quite excited about getting him in, he was well regarded at Partick and looked good every time I saw him play for Killi last season, bit surprised they let him go. Hope we're still on the lookout for new players and have something in the pipeline.
  5. Having lived near Tynecastle for years I've seen a fair bit of Billy King. A very good player in my eyes. The Hearts fans were disappointing when he was loaned to Rangers as he was doing well in the first team. He has the ability to go past players but needs to add some end product to his game, something that he'll hopefully do with us. So far Foran has made some really promising signings, it would be nice to add another striker and possibly another defender as back up, but we're not far away.
  6. Sounds like it could be a good signing, but not sure where we'd fit him in in our back four. Certainly could do with a versatile defender given that we have no cover at the back, but would a play of his calibre accept being back-up? Not so sure.
  7. Yea Proctor definitely played as he conceded the penalty for handball, which, from what I remember, was a terrible decision. I could be wrong on Grant Munro, if Bobby Mann was out it would have either been Proctor and McCaffrey or Proctor and Munro. I also remember finding it strange that a group of Partick fans were there, but they certainly helped generate a great atmosphere. To this day that's probably one of the best away supports we've had.
  8. Still my favourite game in our history along with the semi-final win. If I remember correctly Grant Munro (who wasn't a first team regular at the time) started at CB as Bobby Mann was injured. Always remember Keogh's brilliant strike from outside the box as well. Shame injuries got the better of him as he was player of the year that season. Does anyone know if there's anywhere you can watch highlights from this game? Can't find it on youtube!
  9. Higginbottom's a decent player, wouldn't be unhappy at all if we signed him
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36551309 Devine signs for Partick, bit of a strange decision. My guess is Foran couldn't guarantee him first team football given that Raven has been given a new deal and Warren and Meekings will likely be starting at centre back (thank god!). He was a decent player for us, was prone to the odd error but overall I was pretty impressed with him. At 23, he's still got years ahead of him, especially seeing as centre backs usually prime in their late 20's to early 30's. Should be a good signing for Partick, but can't say I'm devastated to have lost him!
  11. Good player but replaceable. Good luck to the lad.
  12. Surely we've not started pre-season training yet? Don't see how he could be on trial already. Would be a good signing but we've already got good players in that position.
  13. That's great news, I hope you're right. His goalscoring record over the last few seasons is really good, 21 goals in 40 games for Macclesfield (according to Wiki) is a brilliant return. He looks like an absolute poacher judging by some of his highlights.
  14. Always thought he looked like he might have something about him. One of the tricky, agile players with a low center of gravity allowing him to get passed opponents. Unsure why Yogi signed him as he was never given much game time, but Foran must see something in him.
  15. Someone on P&B is saying we're paying for Marsella as a scout again, which might help Richie with recruitment. Not sure whether that's true or if it happened recently.
  16. Not my first choice purely because he has no experience, but he certainly seemed like the sort of player that could go on to be a manager given his attitude and leadership qualities. I hope we bring someone in as assistant with a bit of experience, Brain Rice has to go IMO. With the current playing squad being so small, my main worry is on recruitment. He'll most likely have to look down south and in the divisions below us in Scotland as it seems we can't match the wages of other SPL teams. Hopefully with his experience playing at Southend, he'll have a few contacts down there. Good luck to him!
  17. True, I could be wrong and one of the "options available" could be bringing in someone from elsewhere. Fingers crossed.
  18. Amazing news! Despite the low numbers, are squad is looking really good for next season. All we need is a goalscorer and a few more attack minded players. Things are looking up!
  19. http://ictfc.com/news/club-news/1763-managerial-players-situation Statement from the board re manager situation. They state that they are working there way through the "options available to them". This doesn't sound much like they are conducting interviews with candidates for the position. Both the courier and press & journal are reporting that Foran is likely to get the job, certainly seems like that might be the case. I'd much rather someone with experience, but if we bring in someone with experience as assistant then it could work. Foran seems like he'd have the tools to motivate players, you certainly wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him! It's whether or not he has the tactical knowledge and the ability to recruit players that worries me.
  20. McCall would be a great choice. Did brilliantly well at Motherwell, and did well at Rangers considering the circumstances. The article written by Barry Wilson in the Courier makes a good point in regards to recruitment. If we offer players in the SPL the same money as they are getting from teams in the central belt, they're not going to choose to join us. We can't afford to pay higher wages then even the likes of Partick or Dundee, so it's virtually impossible for us to recruit players who have already proved themselves in the SPL, which is a major factor behind JH being unable to recruit successfully. McCall is English, an no doubt has contacts down there, so he would hopefully fit the bill in terms of being able to recruit new players. We need around 8 new players for the upcoming season, and therefore we need to bring in a manager who has an eye for talent.
  21. Latapy is a decent shout, but from what I've heard about from ex managers I don't think he'd be much of a motivator.
  22. Peter Huston or Stuart McCall would excite me, I can't think of too many others. A lot of fans are strongly opposed to it but given his success with us and his ability to recruit good players from down south, I wouldn't be too upset if we got Terry Butcher back in. I'd be really worried if Foran is given the job, primarily because he won't have the contacts to recruit players, but also because there would be a conflict of interests in terms of selection seeing as he thinks he should be in the first team. We need to consider our options, but because of our small playing squad as well as the fact that players from other clubs are out of contract and are unlikely to want to join a club with no manager, time is of the essence.

Hoping that Falkirk lose the play-off final now, as I'd like to get Peter Houston in and can't imagine he'd be overly keen on another year in the Championship.
