  1. Fon Williams Raven Warren Devine Williams . Draper Tansey Polly Vincent Vigurs . Storey Stick with a winning team, but I'd like to see Mutumbo or Silva get one last chance to show whether they can prove themselves. We are on an ever improving run of form so unless someone is tired, injured or suspended we shouldnt weaken the team too much - we are defending cup holders and should look to do everything we can to retain it. If we score a few early goals I'd like to see Hughes make 3 early subs tho.
  2. Agreed but hes a mercenary and will always go where the money is (which I have no problem with), but his history doesnt suggest that he carries sentiment towards a club so if we went after him even with the success of last year I think he'd still go elsewhere - perhaps another SPFL club if there were a few more coins in the pot. But i agree if we could shift a few duds out he'd be a great addition along side Storey for the 2nd part of the season.
  3. Based on us being better first half and dons dominated the 2nd a draw was probably fair result. 2nd half we sat too deep, punted clearances anywhere and never tried to play the ball while they were much more offensive and creative. I struggle to see what mutumbo brings, it's it's a predictable hughes change but yet again I've yet to see him touch the ball - runs like like a headless chicken.
  4. Today collum managed to unite both sets of fans at a game in disbelief at his utter incompetence. Some utterly awful decisions at a basic level made wrong. How he is a top flight ref is unbelievable.
  5. Seems like its been ages since there's been much in the way of threads building up games etc? Anyways Fon Williams Raven Warren Meekings/Devine Tremarco Tansey Polworth Vigurs Vincent Williams Storey Need to restore Raven as Horner was ripped apart last week, if Meekings is fit he plays alongside Warren if not Devine stays, Tremarco back into LB and let Williams play on the wing to run into the box and support Storey. If Drapers still out put Polworth alongside Tansey, if not drop Vigurs and play Polly on the right. Last week we were honking and if we play like that we will get destroyed by Hayes, McGinn, Rooney and MacLean. Need to increase support to Storey if not he cuts a lone figure chasing lost causes with little support. Sadly I think it will be 3-1 to the dons.
  6. Given there is no return of Ryan which was expected really and Storey still no nearer staying combined with how shaky we look its goig to be a worrying month but at least unlike last year we are unlikely to see anyone getting bought although pre-contract is a concern for summer departures. Given that i was dissappointed that Ryan Stevenson has gone on loan from Partick to Ayr, i have always thought he is a player that caused us problems any time he was against us and can score goals, strong and physical to hold up the ball and the kind of player who would help out storey and give us something we dont have especially given our slow build up play we lack that player since ofere left.
  7. Poor performance and poor result from a game we should have done much better against a weak and low confidence Dundee utd. Horner was badly exposed every DU attack, the game was crying out for Raven, although Horner scored he gave little going forward and gave the ball away too easy, he looked looked a real weak point in our side. Virgurs and Polworth yet again gave away possession too easy much like last week. However the distribution from Tansey was great and he linked up well to Williams and Storey on several occasions, showing real class in a weak midfield with a great range of cross field passes. We really need Williams further forward to drive on and support Storey, Tremarco at left back will help this as Vigurs doesn't get forward or offer enough support on the left. Get Raven and Tremarco in with Williams further forward and drop Polworth or vigurs if not I fear the next few games will bring us nothing.
  8. Given the poor quality on show from the summer hughes signings maybe its a transfer revolving door we need to get some of them back out.
  9. Lets not get carried away, killie were awful but we werent much better. We move the ball to slowly forward, we play 3 in midfield behind storey yet they seem scared or unwilling to break and move forward in support instead sitting or dropping back. Too often loose passes in the midfield from polworth and wed, vincent played well and got everywhere and vigurs had a decent game contibuting more than he has in any game ive seen him. meekings is wasted on the right especially when we look weak in the middle with devine still off form. We need either raven or horner right back and tremarco on the left that way williams can be further up field and support storey. Both the subs yet again fail to bring much both had good chances but made poor decisions whether thats lack of fitness, confidence or game time its yet unclear but after half a season they have contributed nothing so have a lot to prove but i dont see that in their play yet.
  10. On another day we would be reading a post on here about how poor the stewards are for not dealing with an unattended bag left lying with all kinds of hysteria made about it for security reasons or if something had been stolen from it - as above everyone knows in the UK now not to leave bags unattended in any public places. Although there is a right to ask why it was taken inside the stadium if there were concerns and if there needs to be a better protocol put in place by the police/stewards for this.
  11. In some ways is this a potential reflection of how far Scottish football has fallen in reputation that a single sponsor can afford 3 SPFL teams especially when its not a major corporation.
  12. Its good to see that the cup defence by the holders is ignored by TV for an all lower league tie.
  13. Thats why I dont like the idea, while ICT may benefit from being favourites in a group, its just yet again a monopolisation for the biggest teams - kind of like the structure of the Champions League or Euro/WC qualifiers. If its regionalised and each group has 5 teams with one being a 'big' club it wont be long til the same matches are repeated regullarly due to the limited numbers of clubs to start with. If anything I would like to see an open draw for the groups regardless if we had to travel to Stranraer or Berwick or even got 4 SPFL clubs, then it has the potential to throw up a surprise and increase media and fan interest.
  14. I'd like to see the club use the window to offload some of the under achievers if it will free up money for other players to come in, my opinion is we shouldnt waste money trying to extend Sho Silva as he's never been fit to play and if there was a way to remove other crocks or under achievers such as Wedderburn, Mutumbo, Vigurs, Lopez we should consider it and bring in players fit and ready to play, but not be looking to offer them new deals yet. Storey needs to stay but also disappointed we havent secured a few established players on deals yet before they can be approached - Vincent, Draper, Williams, Brill, Doran, Raven, Fon Williams - I'd like their new deals tied up before the window and a priority ahead of any of the above listed players.
  15. Sounds like typical Scottish football trying to create an overly complex structure and model. The lower league teams already play regionalised in the Challenge cup, so think another regionalised format will be too boring for many. The groups need to be an open draw, where potentially you could get a group of all SPFL or anotehr or lower league - fans wont turn out if its a big boy plus 4 minnows. If they really want the League cup taken seriously it needs a Euro place for the winners and it doesnt indicate the games should be less spread out with the final completed before winter break which I think it needs to be.
  16. ^ Pointless playing that formation if its to give Storey support as we constantly see Polworth and Vincent fail to get forward into the box and tend to pass back or across, the only player other than Ryan (who is now gone) is Williams and we dont play overlapping wing backs. If Storey is to be supported then Williams has to be played further forward.
  17. Fon Williams, Tansey, Storey, Ofere all been successful and signed by Hughes, Mutumbo, Roberts and Sho Silva they have been injured most of this season so its hard to form a fair judgement so they may yet come good afterall Vincent spent almost a year out when he joined and is now showing what he can do. Agreed there have been some players who have come in and been nothing more than squad and struggle to break into the starting team its not all been negative. Its always going to be hard to find players consistently of a constant calibre without spending money or being patient we see that with teams like Motherwell & D Utd. For me a disappointment is not being able to get a player like Nick Ross to stay others like Watkins, Shinnie, McKay we had no chance due to the offers on the table.
  18. Stirling Albion/Cumbernauld Colts v Inverness CT That'll do, an away tie but winnable.
  19. Great news for continuity, is this official then?
  20. I wasnt aware we had tried before as part of the Ryan deal, maybe now Celtic may be keener to get rid especially if he is starting to disrupt the dressing room? Pay him to sit there or part pay him and have him out of the picture? Although I do agree its unlikely especially given the player doesnt seem keen on the local climate lol
  21. I think we need Williams further up the pitch, he has the pace to support Storey and go past players, too often at LB he stops and then Vigurs never pushes far enough on. We no longer overlap from the wingbacks this season but I dont know why? Fon Williams Raven Meekings Warren Tremarco Draper Tansey Polworth Vincent Williams Storey
  22. I thought overall we performed ok , Storey did a good job and we can see his pace being a tool for us to use but the support getting up with him is too slow. Vigurs and Polworth gave the ball away too often and were too many time caught in possession but considering the contribution their replacements made they were the better option. I will give Mutumbo and Silva the benefit of just being back from injuries but for 2 players we have seen little off this season they did nothing to impress. Celtic look a poor team and we should have taken more from them if it wasnt for bad defending. We need to start doing more in the final thrid and providing greater support to Storey. Looking around yesterday and all the mdeia focus, we could do worse than ask Celtic about Stokes on loan in Jan. We only have Storey and I doubt Ryan will be back heres a player who might grab at the chance to prove Ronnie wrong and win a move elsewhere next season - plus Yogi knows him and how to get the best out of him.
  23. Draper being offered a 3 year deal, which is great news. Looking to keep the Warren, Meekings, Draper, Tansey unit together will be a fantastic achievement by the club and in my opinion the nucleus of the team that we can build everything and everyone else around. Perhaps a sign JH is about to sign for a similar timescale.
  24. Fon Williams Raven Warren Meekings Tremarco Tansey Draper Sho silva/Mutumbo Vincent Williams Storey Put in Sho Sliva or Mutumbo into the midfield for a bit of pace if either are fit if not then Vigurs will need to start. If Warren isnt fit enough to start then we play Devine. celtic will play a 2nd string as there will ne huge pressure to win at least one Eruopa league game, but they have a weak defence and a poorer team than last season. Its a game we should go out to try win, being a home game and us still being up and down with consistency then a win could be the confidence booster for a good wee run heading into the festive period.
  25. Might not be a problem as Storey as yet isnt commited to being here beyond Jan, so if Dani does get a reprive and stays then he may get plenty opportunities to repay that faith and make ammends for the mistake.
