  1. So thats our most creative player away and the leading scorer. Things arent looking too good so far - lot of work for TB to do now. Worried about the message this sends out to the rest of the squad :(
  2. Yeah all over the backpage of the P&J in Aberdeen about him signing. Very disapointed if thats the case - over the last few years the Dons have shown to be a team in decline and all their talented young players leave. Really thought he could stay another year and free from injury have signed for a bigger (better) SPL club or even gone to Championship down south.
  3. Today the term 'football star' was used to describe Garry O'conner when talking about his drugs case - also mentioned was Drogba getting an offer at Real Madrid as he too is a 'football star' - no distinction as to which shines brightest tho other tabloid terms 'busty' 'romp' any female model or tv star is a 'stunner'
  4. While I want Rossco to stay, we have to put budgets in place, I have no idea of his salary, his offer or where that sits in the club overall. Sadly he isnt getting any younger and while he is experienced and leads us - if we cant agree a deal within the structure in place he will have to leave. If that money pays for 2 younger players and covers other openings in the squad so be it and we will have to rely on other more senior players to step up and show more passion & leadership. Sad time and state of affairs but this is Scottish football and how it may be in the future. Look at Hearts who cant keep Black - he has been their best player all season, this is a team who won a cup has a bigger fan base and qualified for European football - cant make a contract offer to a decent Scottish player (not even international level), D Utd are another example of a club where players are leaving year on year. Nobody in Scottish football has money :(
  5. Crowds are dropping for several reasons - financial, poor product and the SPL being so uncompetitive the only hope we have of success anywhere is the cups. All this provides less income and cut backs. The whole of Scottish Football is a mess and in the last few years as a fan the most exciting thing to happen was promotion from D1 - perhaps we need to become a yo-yo club just so we can get that excitement back every few years as right now its all becoming dull and predictable. We will just have to hope that there are some young hungry players out there that can come in and excite the team. I'd perfer to see cut backs and remain financially stable long term unless its theres a decision that somewhere that cheating is allowed without sanctions then we can sign players we cant afford and try for Europe knowing we can start all over again in a few years debt free
  6. FIFA to investigate penalty shoot-out alternatives http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18205513 Thoughts? Just leave well alone? Play on until a golden goal wins (like in school), Rock, paper, scissors? Really cant see what alternative options there can be?
  7. Apparently St J have offered a contract to Hasselbank, so depends whether they are looking to pair Tade up with him or not as to a contract being offered now? Do SJ still have Riorden too or was he just a short term deal to the season?
  8. Billy Dodds has supposedly resigned from his media work now.
  9. Ex-page 3 Maria Fowler? Might provide more up front than we saw last season with our attack!!!
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk...w-west-18148818 EBT beneficiaries. Shocking amounts to many. Cant beleive that Bob Malcolm & Marvin Andrews are listed and the amount they recieved. Cheats - plain & simple!!!
  11. Dons are desperate to offload Fyvie down south and get cash this summer instead of waiting til Jan when his contract is up. They would be using that money to offer good salaries and probably see Hayes as an ideal candidate. Jonny should stay IMO, if he looks around at players like Cowie & Robson they have all left ICT to bigger and better clubs where they win things or play at a high level, if he stays for another year then he could move to a better club than currently on the table. This season he missed a lot of games through injury, a full season and he will be a much more sought after player.
  12. Chris Mcguire has been told he can leave Derby along with Lee Croft, both are proven SPL players who could do a good job for us.
  13. Sandaza is out of contract and Sheridan has returned back to his parent club, so guess they will need a striker. Really hope he signs for us if not that will leave use very thin up front if we cant bring anyone in - I think if there is more than 1 year on offer from St J sadly he will go there.
  14. Really dont care who wins, but hope its a good entertaining game and acts as an advert for Scottish football that can highlight how good the game can be without the OF and their baggage for a change. Oddly whenever its a OF V a.n.other final I never want to see it but this one like County V DUtd, Hearts V Gretna etc I will make an effort to watch. Think it will be a Jambo day with Skacel & Beattie (2) doing the damage to a O'Connor reply - 3-1
  15. Legend - No, but a safe, stable pair of hands in charge IMO. Nearly kept us up when we got relegated from wat looked a doomed position, got us back up 1st time of asking with a long unbeaten run, kept us unbeaten on the road for over a calender year and consolidated our SPL status 2 years running. Overall not doing too badly I think.
  16. Thats gonna be the best post on the whole thread IMO.
  17. Today we've said farewell to you, some of us for ever others untill next season Hopefully, he will be back. Lets hope thats not some insight where he has a deal elsewhere and knows of some other guys moving from ICT as well. If so can only summise probably another SPL club such as Dons, D Utd, Hearts :(
  18. Sold to Green apparently, press conference later today if the BBC site is correct.
  19. Think it seems simple from his quotes in the press, he wants to stay and TB wants him to stay, but RT wants garuntees to play every game but at his age its not possible (infact for no player should that be the case) rightly IMO the manager should be looking at options moving to the future but it seems apparent that Rossco has a place and will play games. I'm sure people will read the comments however they want to regardless of how or what is said by either party
  20. Under 23 is it not? And do they not need to have been at the club for X number of years (5?) or been through the youth academy? Regardless Hayes wont qualify to get us any fee - but who said he will actually leave!!!!
  21. SPL - all I expect is survival each season, I consider the size, stature, fanbase, season tickets, revenue of our club which makes it one of the lowest in the league, therefore we have to consider our expectations accordingly - anything achieved in terms of league sucess such as top 6 etc is probably longterm unsustainable for our club and would only be based on seasons of good fortune. Every season and next year will be no different I expect good cup runs, sadly they have been lacking over the last few years but as County, Kille, D Utd have shown getting to cup finals is achievable for smaller clubs. Thats where we need to improve. So consolidate in the league and improve showing in the cups with at least QF or better in both comps.
  22. Letting Tuffey go is a risk if we were to get an injury to Esson, he is a good keeper but perhaps to expensive to have as a luxury on the bench. Is there enough quality behind these 2 for adequate cover if required at the club (I dont know so just asking). Sadly I think the only way we can get Black a contract is if Hayes left and finding additional cash, but he would be a hughly welcome addition - although he will have other offers both in Scotland and England. Really not that excited about MacKay getting a contract (unless he's cheap) and definately not keen on Gillet. We need the following key areas as a priority - Centre back & striker, for experienced and proven players it will cost so I'd like to see the cash focused there on quality over quantity with the acceptance that we have to sell or release players to gather transfer or wage funds for any other positions (one out, one in scenario) to balance the books. Oh and if we can do a deal to get Golobart back for the season too, would be a good move.
  23. Players that must stay Esson Tokely Tade Hayes Tuffey Tansey We need to get Golobart too, looks a good player IMO The fact we have many young talent on deals still like Sutherland, Shinnies, Ross, Morrison is good news along with Foran, Dorran, Hogg who add some quailty and experience. Add in a good central defender, a striker who has a proven scoring record - look at the other SPL teams like St Midden with Thompson, Moatherwell - Higdon, St J - Sandaza, if we can find someone to score 15 - 20 a year we will improve. Bye bye Gillet & MacKay - had plenty oppertunities this year and failed to deliver. Gillet has made a lot of mistakes in the games I've seen and MacKay giving a goal return of 3 in 22 isnt good enough - players like Barrowman and Rory have been slated on here for similar, so not sure why so many hold MacKay in high regard. Tudur Jones Piermayr Proctor Williams Winall
  24. Seems he has been released from Oldham, no doubt a few clubs north of the border will be chasing after him (guessing at Dons, D Utd, Hearts, Hibs, Motherwell maybe others too), could or should we be considering making an offer? I always thought he was a decent player at Aberdeen although a little over-rated, he could perform a job in our ailing defence next season I think.
