  1. Kevin Kyle. He's a free agent and in the past has left bigger clubs to go elsewhere to progress his career again - such as moving to Kille before then getting a deal with the Jambos. He has a decent goals record and done well in the SPL over the years. Big strong player who can hold the ball up and win in the air, could be a good partner for MacKay or Shinnie, not sure about his wages or expectations but think he would be a good signing if ICT looked at him?
  2. I always though he looked poor and was over-rated just because he was a youth player in the Premiership, never impressed at Dundee Utd and glad we never considered him at any point.
  3. A cynic (not like me) could suggest that by these clubs going out and publicly stating a 'No' vote then that will help season ticket sales which by admission are down. Now if over the next 10 days these clubs begin to sell more season tickets - whats to say that come 4th July there may not be extenuating cases as to why the Newco should be admitted meaning these clubs vote 'yes' and already have the fans cash in the bank. Of course that wont happen as the Scottish game holds integrity in high regard. When the vote process is complete and the SPL committee announce the result - will us (the fans) get visibility of how each club has voted or will it be a secret process with only the numerical results presented (10-2, 9-3 etc)?
  4. Give the lad a chance, he may not be high profile or played for big clubs but he was captain of team GB at the World University Games - so clearly that must be a high level of amature/junior football probably much of it on a par with SFL. Until we see him play we cannot comment on his abilities at this level - I hope he turns out to do very well for us.
  5. I'd be very surpsised if the outcome will bother Celtic fans when it gets down to the season kicking off? If the Newco gets voted out of the SPL they will be out their droves to watch Celtic dominate and expect to win trebles for many years, if Newco get voted in they will come out to continue their historic battle with what is still Rangers regardless of name or ownership. Without generalising too much Celtic fans are glory hunters who like the hatred between the clubs much like the majority of Rangers fans. Its the crowds and support the rest of the SPL will have depending on results that will be the really inetresting part IMO.
  6. If he feels that strongly he can always keep his team to the central belt and forfit any games in the Highlands.
  7. Hope not. He was one when I saw being released I thought we could have a chance of signing and a player that could do a job for us - young with potential too. Hopefully TB has better options available to him.
  8. 4th July for the SPL vote? Why is it being dragged out for yet another 2+ wks?
  9. No, its come from every thread descending into a platform for certain fans to continually drag up the past and constantly critisise TB, now this is a chance for those fans to state what they actually expect from the club and what they want to see happen. It will allow the rest of us to understand at what point the fan base will become reunited behind the team again?
  10. Don't eally think many of us want to see the squad change year-on-year, but is that entireley TB's fault? We all know there is little cash about so we cant afford transfer fee's so always looking for free or released players, geographically many don't want to move here and those that do only want it as a shop window. This means we arent in a position to buy the best of young talent even from the lower leagues - the days of even signing Imrie for circa £50k are probably consigned to history. Perhaps the players dont want more than 1 year deals? As a club we cant garuntee SPL football every season as relegation is and always will be a risk, so tying players to longer deals is a risk if we went down - but is that driven by the board or TB? The board being more proactive with the fans - again how is this directly linked to TB? A vailid point regarding areas for improvment though. I agree with the comments about team bonding, spirit and the guys playing for each other being motivated - that's heavily at TB's door but many of the players have to take responsibility too - last year many let us down and didnt show enough commitment. (yes he signed many, but sometimes in life individuals need to take personal responsibiliy too) The style of play, tactics and scouting process are the areas that TB should be critisised for IMO. As for expectations SPL survival would be good every year plus at least one cup run to a semi or further every few years. Thats what I expect and if TB can maintain that or deliver better then I'm satisfied with him in charge.
  11. No - this is the time to restructure the WHOLE of Scottish Football from the SPL & lower leagues to the regional league set up and the National Structure. Won't happen though.
  12. Open Q to all who seem to be against the work of TB and expect more from him - there are numerous threads indicating people are not happy. What are the expectations people have for the club? What does TB need to do to win backing? This is about what the club needs moving forward - not another thread about TB has let stalwarts of the club leave (players with only a few years of playing careers left or wage demands outwith the structure we can sustain). Lets see if people can look forwards for a change - not always back ;)
  13. Fully agree, its tedious. Seems there is a witch hunt against TB and for some on here he will never be accepted. Quite what he has to achieve with this provincial club which has a small fan base, a geographical location making the signing of players difficult all while being in a league so highly monopolised by 2 clubs is unknown.
  14. The fans of Rangers still seem in denial and ignorant to the wrongs committed. Its time to expel them and any notion of a NewCo from the SPL. All historical trophies should be taken from Ibrox and publically destroyed and any records of these removed from the record books. The message has to be sent out strong and hard that cheating will not be tollerated!!! Shame we dont have an administation in this country capable of showing the strength to do this.
  15. Regarding rejoining in D3, should they not have to apply for entry into the SFL when the slot becomes available which would be at a time alllowing Highland League, South of Scotland and Juniors to also apply. Was it not Annan that won the vote when Gretna folded? While I expect they will get voted in somewhere (hopefully not the SPL) if there was any real justice they would miss out on all tiers of Scottish Football!!!!
  16. Shocking isnt it - being an established SPL club with players other clubs want that may come back to play against us. I'd be more worried if every player that left us disappeared into lower league obscurity - that would indicate they were 'pish' to start with ;)
  17. So the lack of money available in Scottish Football and the inability of the club to offer salaries that players expect is all the fault of TB. Seems there is a hardcore TB witch hunt on here with certain fans - its all getting very boring and predictable that every thread has the same people posting their anti TB comments. Sure there have been managerial mistakes with certain players coming in, but others have been a success. Promotion, SPL survival, long inbeaten runs - I count that as not doing too bad. Ok we had a poor season this year and some of the football wanst great but most importantly we are still SPL so lets support the club and build from here for the future both finacially and on the field!!
  18. None of the above. Have a baseline and for example pay 1 player 50% above that and to counter it have another 50% below. For example if we pay a baseline (not putting a cap) average of £1500 pw (I have no idea of the figures) - we pay a top player £2250 and a youth or reserve player £750 pw. But ensure we do that based on the first 11 that we would want to play - yes it creates a bigger gulf between the top 11 earners and the rest but prehaps there is no choice?
  19. About ICT yes a little but we will manage to survive be it in D1, or lower - least the football will be more competitive and not monopolised About the state, integrity and global perception of Scottish football as a joke - VERY!!!
  20. While I partially agree about needing to offer longer contracts and lack of transfer fee revenue, it seems that throughout football unless its a world class star then nobody is paying fee's - I cant remember (apart from the OF) the last SPL club to pay a transfer fee and only real memories last year was Goodwillie leaving D Utd? Danger offering a longer deal is that 'if' we got relegated we could have too high a wage bill and be unable to slash costs, the other option is to put caveats in the contract about reduced salaries if relegated but lots of players (most) wont sign up to that. The situation drives us to 1 year deals and hope some players decide to remain loyal for longer. The positive is in the market that there will be a larger number of players to pick from as more clubs are in the same boat - I know we have a salary structure and after Marius dont want to create issues messing about with it, but given the current state I'd like to see a gamble where higher wages are paid to certain players like Hayes, or tyring for Black (as an example) and hope they stay fit with more youngsters as back up or lower league players - takie the gamble on having the best 11 possible then the back-ups will be average.
  21. Edited it for you ;) Dont rate Gillet at all, not seen anything from him that suggests he is good enough quality - towards the end of the season he was awful and got caught out in several games. He does run fast, but really think we need more than that in any player we are trying to sign/keep.
  22. Danny Cadamarteri - will be wanting too much cash and is frankly not very good - remember when he was at D Utd, harldy set the SPL on fire!!! JT - sub goalie so hardly played Proctor - not really played much last year Tansey - flattered to decive, wasnt that great or consistent Only real loss is Hayes. Tade yes, and he was top scorer but he wasnt exceptional or prolific and had as many bad games as good......still would have liked him to stay but we will see how good he is at St J next year (he isnt the quality of even Sandaza IMO).
  23. Oh well 2 games in Eurpoe and fighting relegation because lets not kid about it the season St J just had was an exceptional one created by some very good loan signings who managed to do well and other bigger and better teams like Hearts & D Utd struggled to gel as quickly. But to think that will be repeated would be unrealistic - good luck to Tade but he wasnt exceptional for us this year and still has a lot of improvement in his game, sad he wasnt willing to do that with us.
  24. Odd that Aberdeen offer that salary to Hayes (if true) but not to rising talent like Fyvie. With Tade gone, perhaps we should be looking to use his wages to offer Jonny a bit more - we struggles for goals last year so if we manage to get a striker from somewhere we need our best creative talent staying.
  25. Cant afford either of them and both have plenty baggage. Riordan would be the better option of the 2 though as he seems to have less criminal issues. Both 2 talented players who are wasting away the oppertunities they get. Chippendale has been released from Huddersfield.
