  1. Made a mistake with QP. raith have been pushing DU all season for automatic promotion to the premiership. But 3-1 down to airdrie this evening as I post this. 88 mins played. partick, airdrie, Dunfermline all pushing for a play off place at the right end of the table. Partick were unlucky not to go up via play off against RC. I said hope it doesn’t happen, so I say again “ it doesn’t seem to have done them any harm” resetting and coming back up from the lower league
  2. Game should have been over 1st half. we were all over them Great save from Arbroath keeper boruc ( cousin of ex Celtic keeper artur boruc ) from a Samual hit from edge of box heading in top bins but he got fingers on it to put it onto bar and out for corner. couple of mins later Samuel had a turn and hit from inside the box but boruc got down low to his left to save again. late on in 1st half Anderson was played in but his poor effort couldn’t beat boruc from a couple of yards. was disappointed how we started 2nd half. Tippy tippy nonsense across the back line, no urgency to take throw ins and free kicks. One ball went out for a bye kick. Instead of taking the spare ball from the ball boy behind the goal ridgers walked slowly over to the corner flag to retrieve the original. We’re we counting down the clock that early. I felt we were not building on the performance of the first half and letting Arbroath come at us instead. Turned to my mate and said this is going to cost us. Arbroath took the gift and a fantastic hit from outside the box whissed past ridgers for the equaliser. Loud boo’s from the home support. I have seen this tactic from Ferguson before, when we are up he tends to defend the lead rather than try to extend it. samual had no right to win the ball in the box, turn and smash in the winner. It was pure strength. if we had taken our chances it could have been 3 or 4 goal win and confidence boost to take to Hampden especially after queens 5 goal hammering today.
  3. Hope it doesn’t happen but doesn’t seem to have done raith rovers, airdrie, Queen’s Park, partick, Dunfermline any harm dropping down, resetting and coming back up to the championship. And probably Falkirk next season.
  4. Sorry hopefully Anderson is a typing error above. wotherspoon could see a pass and then execute that pass. anderson is a grafter in midfield. His first touch usually heads to the sky and his next touch is a tackle. (thats what happened when he was red carded trying to take the ball down from head height after a poor first touch). Arbroath play their game in hand on us tonight against airdrie. We will be still 9 or 8 or 6 points in front with a 34ish better GD going into Saturdays game v Arbroath with Queens Park playing Dundee Utd same day. big game Saturday, huge game the next week. All to play for. Win for us and DU on Saturday get the bus booked for the hampden showdown
  5. In modern day language if someone condones abuse does that make them complicit?
  6. We have form with this the last few years. polworth was getting vicious abuse from some “ fans” , so bad that he started back at them during the match. vigurs got it when playing for other teams last season I had a couple of mature “gentlemen” a few rows in front of me in the north stand giving Douglas Ross mp/ msp abuse . He was main stand linesman that day and they started on him every time he came down the line towards the corner flag shouting from the right side of north stand. Some others were having a laugh at the abuse but it wasn’t what our young fans should be hearing from guys old enough be their grandad. I used to hear over the tannoy that anyone blah blah blah will be removed from the ground and the police may be involved. Remind me why we have a security team at games?
  7. Ict away so took grandkids to county v livi. wouldn’t have noticed Carson was playing juring the game but I spotted him in the pre match warm up 10 yards in front of me. livi captain Andy shinnie hooked at half time ( not a patch on the player he was for us). Replaced by Daniel Mackay, who didn’t really contribute much. carsons moment came when livi got a free kick wide left, he set him self up directly in line with penalty spot about ten yards outside the box. Crossed in, county centre half headed ball out and from where I was sitting Carson didn’t have to move just wait for ball to bounce perfectly in front of him to volley. He had enough time to think will I hit this left top bins or right top bins. He swung his right leg and ………….. if the county player wide right hadn’t controlled the ball it was going out for a throw in practically level where Carson was standing. Not a slice more a shank. that’s how I remember him for us, dynamic but no end product. Some of his crosses into the opponents were let’s say not very good.
  8. If we lost a game because we had a perfectly good goal ruled out by incompetent officials that would have us 2 up. Then another ruled out by more incompetence I would say we were robbed. GOALS change games. 3 views from last night. Incredible drama with no VAR to clear it up! Partick Thistle 1-2 Dunfermline Martin Dowden BBC Sport Scotland at Firhill Stadium That's two 'goals' Thistle will feel hugely aggrieved by. Quite why that was given and then overturned has absolutely baffled this crowd. Confusion all around. 'Another wrong decision' Partick Thistle 1-2 Dunfermline Athletic Michael Stewart Former Scotland international on BBC Scotland That is two goals Partick Thistle have had chalked off when they really shouldn't have. They should be winning this game. Partick Thistle manager Kris Doolan: "We don't want to hide behind decisions, and they were very bad, and the game swings on decisions at times. If we get the first one, you are 2-0 up essentially.
  9. Watch premiership in Dingwall when ict away. ref gives goal var changes to offside/foul etc ref gives offside/ foul etc var changes to goal ref gives yellow var changes to red ref gives red var changes to yellow scottish refs are being found out every week around the country by var and bbc to on a Friday night and are not held to account. Wonder how Dunfermline 3 points tonight may affect us at end of season.
  10. FFS totally gutted. thought we were lucky to go in at half time 1 up. Got lucky again when we got the second, goalkeeper misjudged the cross and savage easily headed in to go 2 up. said to myself hope Dunc doesn’t do his norm when we are ahead and go into survival mode. Can hear him now in his post match comfy interview say they came at us second half. Truth is we stopped doing what we had been doing and invited them to come at us. So they did. best form of defence is attack, we blew it today. highlight of first half was a pass back to Ridgers, I think he hit his clearance into their player and ball spun into air on our bye line. Ridgers is now facing the north stand and attempts a hoof of the ball over the stand. Total fresh air kick resulting in him then heading the ball out for a corner. You couldn’t make it up. anderson red card was straight out of the ref pocket, no second to think. Anderson first touch for a pro footballer was so poor today, the ball rising into the air as he tried to control it many times. That was what happened for the sending off as he raised his boot into the players head to get the ball. The Partick guy we down clutching his head. Once the red was shown he miraculously recovered and didn’t require hospital treatment. I was firmly seated on the fence re Dunc the manager, starting to slide off a bit now after today.
  11. Was at the Scottish cup game a few weeks ago in Dingwall when they trounced county 3-0. very strong centre backs with both full backs getting up the park with ease. like others we have played this year they have a Connolly, Easton, Middleton, Thomas type winger in Fitzpatrick who roasted county’s Randall at right back that day. hope I am wrong but can’t see us with our home form taking anything from tomorrow. interesting to see how our young centre backs handle the experienced Graham.
  12. Quoting Maggie when British troops landed on south georgia rejoice on that news and let’s congratulate our board members. ps Derek Adams has just resigned from the managers job at county
  13. Last week at raith, Ridgers used the long ball quite a lot aiming for Samuel. Worked well due to his strength bossing the defenders. Dunc said in interview he was unplayable. not sure about that tactic for today as forecast from 15.00 is 18 to 20 mph winds gusting to 40 mph (XC weather ) Hoping for a repeat performance from the Welsh haaland. Last week with his back to the defender he was like a one man Irish scrum, taking the ball in or back peddling to cause defender to play poor defensive headers. gone are the days when we pumped a high ball up to billy which resulted in a easy header for the defender. ( not Billy’s fault )
  14. I asked previously for a midfielder who can break through the lines, pacy, strong etc. At 6 ft tall as well he will do for me. From everton He's strong, quick and very brave and does a lot of work off the ball. He doesn't give defenders time on the ball. He's very versatile, has plenty of pace and was always a great listener who took things on board very well,"
  15. Lizi, I don’t think lack of atmosphere is owned by ICT. the away games I have been at this season our guys( not me, home and away I just sit there and watch the game, cheer a goal) sing “ what a shi1ey home support. I didn’t detect any atmosphere from the home support yesterday, maybe I was too engrossed watching us come from 1 down to 3-1 in 9 mins. Our home games away guys do similar, “ what a shi1tey home support to us. took my Dingwall grandkids to Tynecastle few weeks ago. Told them one of the best grounds in Scotland for atmosphere. Apart from the gudgies behind us singing from start to finish, as our guys did yesterday, didn’t hear a sound from the home support the whole first half, until they booed hearts of at half time. When county went 2 up hearts fans become more vocal, but didn’t sound like support to me. my brother in law, living in Edinburgh area goes to all our away games, home games for him. His fav ground, tynecastle,(AH the glory days) but not that day he said. Can’t see what club or anyone else can do to make people change their nature, not possible. I didn’t sing yesterday, nor anyone around me, did you belt out a few songs yerself.
