I've alway's had a thing for Newcastle Utd,used to go to St James' in the 80's when i had a spell down the dockyards in South Shields,got tickets for game V Chelsea on May 3rd,so taking wee Dee doon the toon,fair looking forward to that,(now that Kev's sorted things oot at last!! P.S. How's Speroni doing these days?'did he ever win the Palace support round?,loved him at Dens.

Non smoker for many years and hate fags and fag smoke, but i think the victimisation of all things tobacco is going tooooo far now.Taxed to feck and baned from public places was fair enough,but this nonsense of no smoking on NHS land (ootdoors!!) fer fecks sake and licences for smokers and hiding the fags away is nonsense.As the correspondent in the article says "either ban cigarettes completely and suffer the loss of revenue to the tresuary or stop demonising smokers."

Change has to happen and sooner rather than later,(not from a self interest point of view JB) Fans are haemorageing at an alarming rate and not coming back,all outside the OF only have the die hards going as regular attendees,ICT game today was of zero significance to anything with 8 games stilll left! Fair play to them who could be ersed going along but it wouldn't be me.

Just read this idea which apparently has Gordon Smiths backing,what do ya's think? I reckon it's a great idea which would maintain intrest in many more league games and improve crowds 12 team SPL..play each other twice.then top 8 play each other twice again to decide Euro places and Champions...bottom four join up with top four of the 1st ..play each other twice...top four of that mini league are in the SPL the next season.. total 36 games a year...

Ironworks was always an ambitious project for a place like Inverness ,competing with the Eden Court for bigger names and Hooters and Raigmore for lesser lights,dont know the answer but hope they can survive, i reckon it would be a huge step backwards if Ironworks can't survive or, indeed thrive.

I accept a fair proportion are oily's in Aberdeen, but like wise, not abody's in London for a look at Buck hoose,I do a lot of work for hotels in Royal Deeside and they almost totally rely on tourism related to Lizzie (the clues in the title).Just felt yer original sweeping statement that only the south east benefits while we all pay was incorrect.

Alex,assuming yer figures are correct, 30 million visitors to London compared to 1.75 million is a ratio of 17.15:1 for each visitor in Aberdeenshire.The population of London at the last cencus was over 7 million,Aberdeen was 200,000 ish,seems we're getting a good deal per capita.

After much screaming and gnashing of teeth,i have now got my connection upgraded to 8 meg package and am now getting 2-3 Mbps as the norm.I have seen it as high as 5.35 Mbps,but also as low as 200kbps at peak times!! Anyway , allround seems more satisfactory but the whole"up to" bit seems to be a load of bo**ox with many get out clauses and variables.Thanks to those who gave advice,info etc :sillywave:

And therein lies the problem. South East of England reaps the benefits............the rest of Britian pays. Think Royal Deeside does pretty well out of the "Royal Pound" not to mention the worldwide profile family snaps at Balmoral bring,helping to promote tourism up here. On balance i'd keep the Queen and immediate family,but let the extended line of hingers on fend for themselves. Whilst no great lover of the pomp and ceremony i can appreciate the benefits . I reckon the Queen does a fantastic job under very trying circumstances as head of state,also, keeping this an unelected postion means they have no agenda or political axe to grind. (Thats one L in my first name M'am)

Not wrong Alex,I'd love to see Saintees make the final (would mebbes even go along and support them despite their "hate" for us) but just dont see it.

Having seen QOS first hand this season :009: i genuinely wouldn't be surprised (wouldn't even consider it a shock) if they turn over Aberdeen,given that the Dons only up their game against "bigger" teams.Unfortunately,i think Rangers will be too strong for those left in and will do a clean sweep domestically.
