  4. I hear the movie of last nights startling events is in the offing....... BBC UNVEILS PLANS FOR 'EARTHQUAKE: THE MINI SERIES' THE BBC has unveiled plans for a three-part mini series based on this morning's earthquake in Lincolnshire. Starring Ross Kemp, as Kenny Ross, a troubled, Iraq war veteran, the ?200 million production will be the centrepiece of the corporation's summer schedules. A BBC spokesman said: "Everyone remembers where they were when they heard about the Lincolnshire earthquake. "Families were torn apart and some the county's best chimneys were ruined. This amazing production will explore the heart-wrenching human dramas which will hopefully emerge sometime later today." As the quake hits Market Rasen, Kemp's character is seen drinking vodka from the bottle and looking at photos of old comrades from Basra. But as he cowers under the stairs, he remembers a selfless act of courage by his Scottish friend 'Corporal Jocky' and vows never to hide under the stairs ever again. He then begins an incident-packed, 45-minute journey to the centre of Grimsby where he helps lift some bricks off an old man's legs. Meanwhile environment secretary Hilary Benn has launched an immediate, six month-long review into the safety of Britain's chimneys.

  9. On balance i'd be against it as a legal obligation for a compulsory DNA database, however, whilst it is probably true it would do little to prevent crimes it would certainly speed up detection, therefore removing the perpatratrors from further acts, a lot of these sci-fi futureistic films are becoming worringly close to reality as i was just saying to that nice Mr Dread in the pub
  10. Hope this isnae true, I'm a fan of Wilson and know how dangerous he can still be,don't want to see him up against us next week. :007:
  11. Talk of banning for life is nonsense, badly timed, rash and painful nae doubt, but intentional wi 3 minutes on the clock? cannae see it, Even Vinny would have waited 10.
  12. Queen at the Caird hall, as Al Murray would say "proper band playing proper tunes"

  16. Think you misinterpreted my post 4th stand,I dont wish for Gretna to go down the pan, however, if it occurs I'd be interested to see how the decision making process was effected if the title or OF were affected to any degree.
  17. I'm with AOL Smee, who i know come in for a lot of slagging, but i'm kinda tied in for now, however i only pay for 2 meg but get less than 500kbps,when phoned they said i would have to up to 8 meg package which would possibly get me "about" 4 meg because of the location,in all honesty the speeds allright for most of the stuff i do as i dont download large files or films etc allthough i find some clips start buffering occasionally,if i could just get the 2 meg i pay for i'd be quite happy.
  18. Would love to see the scenario IF,(big if eh know) Gretna manage to get a draw on Saturday at Ibrox,Celtic catch up and go one point ahead then Gretna's demise comes about and Rangers win the league on the strength of that.........

  20. Reckon i'll go again this year as the music and ambiance during the day was great last year, but learned ma lesson last year regarding pitching my tent! Unless you want to stay up all night to a constant tirade of f**in and blindin,(and ehm nae prude by a laaaaaang way) shrieking, screaming and fighting, folk trying to burn yer tent wi fags and nick yer bevvy stash, and bogs that would make third world sanitation enviable, make sure it's in the family section, winnae make the mistake again of thinking "ah that looks like a nice spot over there in the general area".... :008:
  21. Coz they cant get tickets for the home end?
  22. Whilst i have the greatest admiration for Mileson and sincerly wish him personally all the best,i never understood the whole Gretna thing. It was painnfully obvious to all it was a project that could only survive as long as vast resources were being poured into it and could never be self sustaining. Why he chose Gretna is beyond me,I heard somewhere he originally wanted Carlisle and was knocked back so went on a mission to prove a point, not sure of the truth of that, but it may explain why Gretna
  23. "Inflammable means the same as flammable, 'liable to catch fire', 'easily ignited'. Because it is often taken to mean the opposite, it is best to avoid using it at all; in official use flammable and non-flammable are the preferred terms". All seems a bit inflamatory to me.....or should that be flamatory?
  24. Wiz at the game with the svelt like Maime on Saturday, even weeDee couldnae tempt her wi his eclairs, this could be costly :029:
  25. Interesting to see them thinking of ways to generate a larger customer base than catering purely to the few Gaelic speakers, dont agree with the funding and it will fall on it's erse sooner rather than later, especially if they dont get a place on the freeview platform, but fair play to them for attempting to be inovative.
