  2. I hope you have a great birthday Robert whatever team turns out Storey or not. Play to our strengths and shock United with a win!
  3. Not good news but it will give Roddy Macregor a chance to prove his worth when he gets on.
  4. That was my thought as well till I read further down I would love to see Jack get his prediction right Like yourself I won't bother and I will not be going to the bookies like Alan either.

  6. Great thread snorbens there is a good bit of local history there and I am sure there is more to find out.
  7. It might be the same as last season where Ross County were sh**e but they won the league, we will see what happens in the next few weeks.
  8. And I forgot to mention the cars I would never have got the Iso Grifo Series 2 - early 70s ? My ones were Jensen Interceptor, Humber Scepter, Lotus Cortina which is owned a raced by a local Charlie Donaldson, Vauxhall Wyvren and Rover 75 beside the Macbrayne's buses at the castle.
  9. The Interceptor might be the one that was in Inverness because the owner rescued it from scrap and changed the colour I can't remember what he said it was The woman standing beside the Wyvren was waiting for her husband to come back with the keys and asked if I wanted to buy it! The new building which is going to be flats and shop units below in Academy Street where the old SMT showroom/Farmfoods was is going to be called Wyvren House so the powers at be are getting something right. i was looking at an old map of Inverness last week and noticed the Highland Orphanage which I didn't know about and doing a bit of investigation tonight found this.......... every day is a school day https://www.cookcollection.co.uk/highland-orphanage/

  15. Here is a photo from this year with the new flats up the Raining Stairs.
  16. My favorite one there is the Blue Jensen CV8 which was the forerunner to the Interceptor. The sound of the Chrysler V8 was magic to a young boys ears compared to the average family cars. Here is an Interceptor and a few others from the Inverness Classic Car Show this year.
  17. https://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/news/last-supper-castle-restaurant-closing-date-revealed-180893/ If you can't get the link to work from the Inverness Courier. AN apparent closing date for one of Inverness’s best-known eateries has been disclosed by a city councillor. Inverness South member Duncan Macpherson told his social media followers that the Castle Street Restaurant will shut its doors for the last time – after more than 60 years – on Sunday, August 4. The Highland News earlier reported the imminent closure of the cafe to make way for a new fish and chip shop to open on the site. Afterwards, Cllr Macpherson said he had been told the date by a member of staff. “The response I’ve had on Facebook has been incredible, but the Castle Street Restaurant is a bit of an Inverness institution,” he said. “There’s so much love for the place.” However, despite his revelation, co-owner Katie MacKinnon, who bought the restaurant from the Lipton family in 2015, said reports of the date should be treated with caution. “Nothing has been confirmed or clarified,” she insisted yesterday when contacted by the HN.
  18. You are right Satan, I hope it works out for the young players and both teams. It would be nice to see Fort William get some points and off the bottom of the league.
  19. The Castle Snack Bar latterly named the Castle Restaurant is closing. I have not been in it for years but is provided great basic food in its day, the steak pie and chips were great! Now going to be a chip shop.
  20. We are playing on Sunday Not a great game but happy with the win!
