  1. Away and don't be daft Alex at £2 per journey for a year you would be lucky to get half a mile of dual carriageway! And the SNP got rid of the last of the tolls.
  2. Good preview - but no mention of Gollum as ref, who is our most dangerous opponent You were right there Macduffer!
  3. Money a big factor for this one as it is a huge game for pride but that it as it it a friendly and would you pay 60 quid for that Money is the main factor 2 big games in 4 days that's £100 plus beer and travel and accommodation if you are from out with the central belt.
  4. Great 3 points today the break has not affected the team this time, Dundee United will be a tougher test next weekend, looking forward to the game.
  5. I left early yesterday morning for meeting in Glasgow city center had slower run down with lorries doing 40mph. My boss flew up from Southampton and left after me! Return journey was slightly quicker. Keeping to the speed limits as I was the average speed cameras would have reduced the journey times by about 10 minutes if the lorries were travelling at 50mph. There was delays of about 10 minutes on the way home at the road works which will get much longer once the real works start. Reading the P & J today the group opposed to the cameras are suggesting using the A82 and the A96 to avoid the A9, the advice if you stay at the east side of Inverness use the A96 to Aberdeen then the A90 for Perth. What planet are they on?
  6. That's an easier one The Jolly Drover, demolished a few months ago and houses being built on the site at present. A very busy pub in the days of Mcdermotts!
  7. With it being lunch time kick of at the last game I had a Steak Pie £2.30 and Tea £2.20 Next time I will just have a late breakfast and get dinner when I get home.
  8. These old photos from IHE's album are great! The tannery is the small chimney 2/3 up on the left, the large black hangar was latterly used by Macrae & Dick for storing new cars, I cant remember if it was demolished or built round, I will have to go and have a look now! Where the plane is on the grass is where Malpplebeck car scrap yard was, a busy place in the late 60's and early 70's. that also looks like railway wagons on the harbour, I remember the old rails crossing shore street to the old coal yard. Way of topic now
  9. Was there not a power station down near the old baths at one time? It looks like it could be not that I remember but I recall someone talking about one.
  10. Don't know about football manager, just posting to get rid of the Union Jack Smilie!
  11. I will certainly bow to the knowledge of people who are a lot better versed than I am in classic cars! I'm not so sure about when the demolition of the Motel was, because for instance the merger meeting took place there in 1993 and I spoke at an ICT supporters' dinner there in, I think, 1997. I am attracted by the theory that the very dry grass suggests 1976. Got me thinking again, you are right about the motel it was left on its own after the chalets were demolished in the mid 80's to make way for the flats that replaced them.
  12. It was about 84-85 the old motel was demolished and I am sure the filling station was closed a number of years before.
  13. Being a regular traveler on both, I actually find the A96 slower and more frustrating than the A9 so delighted to see both being upgraded at long last. You are right there Kingsmills, long tailbacks behind tractors!
  14. The newest car is an early seventies Ford Capri.
  15. Good start to the boy, hope he gets a chance for many more.
  16. Charles you are away off topic! What has the SNP done for the Highlands You might want to start another 'CB's Rant against the SNP'
  17. For one so incredibly keen on adding numbers to our gates, I'm surprised to see you resort to the 'yes it's crap...but it's better than County' dialogue. For the record, they are getting bigger attendances than us. They averaged higher than us last season and are doing it again. Couldn't believe a post I read on a thread the other day - a fan was mocking the jail-end for being 'half-empty' against Dundee. Considering County had a bigger attendance at that game than our corresponding game v. Dundee a few weeks earlier, heaven knows what our stands looked like! I don't think we should be throwing stones in our glass house! Not mocking 12th man just stating a fact. I do think it is a shame even for County, the Jail end used to be bouncing!
  18. It has all been said in previous posts, we were unlucky not to win but after that dire first half performance we did not deserve to. We will have to work harder away at St Mirren as they are now starting to pick up points!
  19. You should be able to pay at the gate or get a ticket at the office before
  20. A96 Inverness-Nairn including the Nairn bypass which would have not reached the drawing board if the other parties were in power! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-29476143
  21. Looking forward to this one tomorrow although don't like the early kick off! After seeing the jail end half empty on the last County highlights don't think they will bring a big support and have to add I will miss Derek Adams
  22. If it ain't broke etc...............it's a fecking shambles! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-18008171
