  1. It was indeed the Douglas Hotel, had a good few nights in there... it was in my mind responsible for the demise of the 'Caley' dance hall as night clubs took over. The Caley was my first experience of dances, what with plastic glasses, sticky carpets, and trying to find a bird to walk home that didnt live at the other side of town!
  2. Heard Charlie Christie's name being mentioned...
  3. Doh! sorry about that, was told they kicked off at the same time as us????
  4. We had the luck on staurday, to-night we were outclassed big time. Ukraine are quality, but for the inept refereeing performance we might had snatched a point, talk about one sided descisions, what afud from the Calum Murray school of refs. However our defence looked slow and ponderous, Neilson did not show up very well in his debut being exposed time after time. Georgia got a draw with Italy, so we have a real group of death forming.
  5. Used to drink lager now i prefer John Smiths.. thank feck the Innes has seen the light!
  6. Right thern c'mon... who's seen Daniel O'Donnell? no feckin lies now... Before you say it, i have'nt, but i was dragged to Waltzing Waters in Newtonmore once... :009:
  7. Denzil looked pretty good to me Colin, made some good runs, lots of off the ball runs, some nice touches and a couple of trademark stepovers to fool defenders. Needs a couple of first team games to get sharp, will be on the bench on Saturday. Still dont know the final score.
  8. Managed to get to see first half plus 15 or so mins of second. KO 2pm. Nutters present were me Guzz and Uncle Albert, with an appearance from Pete from westhill. and a fleeting visit from bronson after half time, who after sneezing over all, retired back to bed claiming a heavy cold prevented further attendance. Team: Fraser, Soane Duff Kerr Golly Sutherland Duncan Blackie Morgan Rory Denzil Bright start from both teams, Killie took the lead when A Weegie took a knockdown and shot past Fraser only to see his shot hit the bar, a n other headed the rebound past Fraser - who was not happy with Kerr for getting beat for the rebound. ICT drew level with a fine move down the right with Rory smacking the cross ball past the keeper, ICT were looking ok, but as were discussed it must be difficult for players to raise their game. We took the lead with another fine move starting with a long diagonal pass from Golly which Rory raced onto his early low centre to the far post saw Denzil and a defender meet, result - goal for Denzil... maybe aye or maybees naw. some say OG some say not. Anyway 2-1 HT, changes- Sweggie for Denzil and Hart for Blackie Second half saw ICT take control, Killie no7 got booked for another late tackle which was not a surprise as he was mouthing off quite a lot and generally being a ******. Sweggie, after a neat 1-2 with morgan had a blistering shot well saved by the keeper, as ICT took control. At this point yours truly had to retire back to the helm of HMS Galaxy. any who wishes to add the final bit to the report... Guzz? please continue.
  9. Jeez... you must have a big living room mun!
  10. Sergei Baltacha was a Russian Internationalist as well, tho' cant remember if he played for Caley-Thistle? did he not make a couple of appearances?
  11. Saw U2 in Glasgow, that was good, but the best for atmosphere was Jimmy Cliff in the Star club in Amsterdam, where the audience was a brill mix of Dammers and Rasta's, i mean best atmosphere by far, Jimmy Cliff is a legend, for any younger readers he was the guy that found and brought on Bob Marley. :icon_ganja:
  12. Check the time of post and smell the alcohol..... :011:
  13. Should'nt we just go and have a few South African beer's?
  14. Think Oats had a name for him... cant remember it though :006: Think it was the lack of goalmouth action that we witnessed, sadly i think that Dargs and Bayne dont hit it off, bring back Denzil.
