Thought he might have put on Tade to try and unsettle the Ayr defence? Have not seen A Shinnie play so cant comment but sounds a strange sub if we are chasing and equaliser???? i'm getting worried now, not just tonight but for this season.

Forgive me for adding a wee bit pessimism, but do we really need another young, inexperienced defender? i cant see young Golly (another one) bringing anymore to the defence other than short term cover, as the obvious back four choice in Rossco's unfair absence is Pier Aldred Hogg and Shinnie.

My answer is... who has seen him play a full game, either live or on tv? is playing in front of the defence his normal place? maybe he should play further forward. Oh aye, he prefers Jeans to trousers and shirts to tee-shirts...... ok?

Just viewed the highlights (what there is of them) online, looks like we did indeed survive a couple of fair shouts for penalties in the first 45 especially Rosscos where he did move his elbow to contact the ball, the second half is probably where the useless norris decides to even things up after a discussion with the equally useless linesmen, for the Rossco pen it seems the linesman is the one who flags first!! and it was not a foul, and it was not a clear scoring chance, so 2 wrong feckwit Norris. The second pen. is an obvious dive by the rangers player who managed to through himself in front of Aldred before throwing his arms in the air very dramatically as he hit the turf. Also didnt quite make out who was alongside Edu as the pen was taken but he hesitated enough for Edu to get a yard ahead and slot the ball home for the killer second. Not much for us to shout about but Doran is hopefully having nightmares about his attempt on goal after Jonnys pass put him clear.

No need fer a red dot so sorted. Rooney's persisitence made the goal. I know a couple of Brummies who have been impressed by his performances but they question if he has the pace to make it in the Championship. Judging by TV clips he has been working hard in the Gym in pre season and suspect that pace off the mark will be high on the training regime priorities. Could Shane Sutherland be next ? Dream on, his feet were on back to front yesterday.

Esson will start and quite rightly, Gillet will start as well, he has more experience and a far better ball player than shinnie. I dont think starting with two wingers is very smart especially as our midfield is so lightweight at the moment, we need a bit more steel in the middle, Morrison might be the answer ( for the time being) with either Hayes or Doran wide but we could see Proc in the middle. The squad is pretty thin in some area's and the team seem to be quite fragile at the moment, the key will be for us to be very tight at the back because Hibs will start the game on attack for sure.
