FESTIVE FIVES - IT HAS GOT TO BE DONE !!
Naelifts replied to IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER's topic in Caley Thistle
Latest: "Hurting but proud. Should make the final fans. It was a great and uncredited ball from Mantis that sent me through on the keeper. For my money the **** was from a medium sized dog fed on Chudleys or similar............I would guess a retriever or dalmation if that helps. Slippy stuff! But back to the ball from Mantis........worthy of Sergio Ramos.........he certainly strained every last fibre of elastic and lycra to make that" -

FESTIVE FIVES - IT HAS GOT TO BE DONE !!

The Courier carries a late interview with Summer Wine boss B. Athtub " We will be ready to go again. It doesnt matter who we get. If we want to win this damn thing then we have to beat them all. I hate cliches but its the result that counts. I thought we could have played better against the Droners......the coos field of a pitch didnt help; and some of the decisions!! They are all in there just now; Mantis has a groin problem but this comes as no surprise to any of us. Lizi and Old caley Girl are desperate for a rub down. Tournament joint top scorer Naelifts is looking magnificent and says he has more to give. IBM is off to the bookies...........we're 3/1! Cant go wrong. Its fair to say that our youth policy hasnt paid many dividends of late but you cannae beat experience and we have that in buckets. We are worried about the VER team because Lizi always likes to be on someones shoulder and IBM goes down easily . We may shuffle things about and play Mantis at the back..............hes not got much up top, and despite what folk say.........hes no predator. Naelifts is already shaping to be man of the tourney so , yes.........we are confident" -

Get in there!! -
Excellent report IHE. Thanks. Enforced absences have meant that it is a goodly time since I attended a game but I am getting a bit tired of hearing the same old thing. There is a consensus amongst those posting here that the issues facing our team are obvious and have been for some considerable time. Why oh why are the management persisting with what appears to be not good enough. Frustrating. Once again the play offs look like our only hope ( and it is still 2019!). Thanks to all the contribuors here for keeping folks like me in the loop.........its a great service

I am afraid I must report to the physio with a sprained pancreas. Hoping to be fit on time. Apparently it is as a result of staying up late too often indulging in my hobby of making decorative macrame walruses entirely out of the cranial nerve ends of Dutch surrealist painters. I am in therapy for this and my counsellor reckons i should last the tournament. Tell everyone I will supply the half time oranges......its the least I can do -
At the risk of repeating myself...... woo hoo!

Aye Arbroath. Got to be one of my favourites. Unhappy I can't make it this weekend. Last time I went my dog came in with me! I remember restraining him as Barry Robson swept passed us two yards away....... the dug would never have caught him anyway!!

Did a double take when i saw this reg in Grantown last Saturday. Was it Stevie T? Maybe somebody out there knows. Anyway it brought back some good memories. Apologies to those who havent a clue what i am on about!

What impressed me was the spirit. The players appear to have seriously bonded and their delight was plain to see. This was surely a building block. The players will want some more of that

Couldnt care less what they wear as long as they deliver on the pitch

Can anyone remember how successful our "pay what you want" match against St Johnstone (?) a few seasons ago was. I seem to recall we did quite well. Just out of interest

Totally get where you are coming from Scotty but we should continue to do our bit for a youngster.....if so count me in

Matchday Thread Dundee Utd -V- Inverness CT (playoff leg 2)
Naelifts replied to Scotty's topic in Caley Thistle
Well done everyone............you tried your best. Man of the match was the very impressive Utd keeper. With the rub of the green it could have been different but after that game I doubt we could have mustered an 11 for the next game. Have a rest boys.......you deserve it. Robbo........well you are in trouble but I think you spoke well. Great support for both sides ( over 8500) and a special mention to those who go to extraordinary lengths and travel huge distances to support their team.....you know who you are.- 171 replies

Not over yet by a long chalk. The Tannadice not-so-faithful will get on their teams back if they dony like what they see. Lets go there en masse and give them something to think about- 126 replies

Yes. Big tonight tonight. All the best. We know that we can give them one hell of a game at Tannadice so lets have a platform for that.- 126 replies

I have to humbly come on here to eat my words. Jordans finish and subsequent penalty were excellent. He has come on as a player in a way I did not think he could. Trafford is another who I thought for a long time was a liability. Happy to be proved wrong by there recent contributions. As someone else said Ayr look incisive and could still be a handful. Not a done deal yet but a great first leg score

My take for what it is worth is that we started poorly and allowed County an early lead ( thought Ridgers could have done better). They are running away with the league but we have gone toe to toe with them all season........great games. They are a decent side. We never gave up and I thought it was an entertaining game of football. The penalty miss was poor.......really poor, but the sending off was the rght decision. It was uphill from then for sure. Who would be a referee? His performance did appear strangely one sided but I am loathe to criticise these put-upon individuals. As I said........would you do it? On Drapes.............would we take him back? To my eyes he is doing what he always has and he is an asset at this level.
