  1. A man almost as far from my own heart as possible it seems. Just curious though, what is it that makes you support them? Or be so Right-wing? Since i first got into politics and looked at the issues it was clear to me I was a conservative (small c), and it was after long deliberation I decided to join the Conservative Party. The reason being that David Cameron and other Tory leaders in recent years have moved the party into the centre to win over floating voters, and have advocated what Cameron refers to as a new "liberal conservatism". If Cameron considers himself a liberal conservative then I am most certainly a conservative conservative Despite this I do like Cameron and believe he will make an excellent Prime Minister after the election. Socially I believe that the party's distancing itself from opposition to immigration and increased gay rights is incorrect, however it is nice to see the party still stands firm for supporting the family. These are the sorts of issues I believe in and I believe the Conservatives are the best party for me. There is a faction within the Conservative Party's MPs called the "Cornerstone Group", trying to promote what it views as the "Cornerstones" of a successful and moral life - Faith, Flag and Family. It advocates support for the Church of England, the family unit and patriotism. Were I a Conservative MP I would certainly be quick to associate myself with this group! The one area I majorly disagree with the party on is over protectionism - while it has been seen as a fundamental Conservative policy in the past to oppose protectionism in the economy, I actually view it as beneficial for the most part and necessary in some circumstances. So I suppose I am a fairly unusual Conservative Party member (not the least being that I am 17 years old and live in Scotland - Not exactly Conservative core vote), but I would say while I agree with the party enough to become a member, there are quite a few policy issues I do not agree with and hope to see the party alter. In short, that the party has moved too far into the centre and needs to, on most issues, return further to the right. Well i suppose someone has to support them ;)
  2. What a load of pseudo academic bullsh1t! No... not your post JB but what the folk in that report are saying. It's painfully bleeding obvious that texting is encouraging and fostering all manner of bad practice in the use of English and I really don't have a lot of time for the ramblings of some academic whose first priority is probably to justify a piece of research in order to obtain funding from the relevant body. I would have ONE good thing to say about language practice in texting. The constraint of 160 characters (which I still stick to where possible as a relic of many years on "Pay As You Go") does help develop discipline in conveying your ideas concisely. However I probably make extra demands of myself since I am also one of these people who uses properly spelled words in grammatical sentences whilst texting. I just can't bear to see badly expressed English! But to return this thread to where it started, the Clach meeting is at 7pm on Friday in the lounge bar in the Social Club and their priority is short term cash flow - ie shekels in the coffers NOW! People that text or type like "R u comin out 2nite" **** me off. If i don't know them, i always get the feeling they are real tinks for some reason?
  3. I know what NAT type is and what it is about. I know it used to be able to get changed. But BThomehub does not let you. BT think that you're computer is not safe without a strict NAT type. I have a fecking anti-virus! Now it takes me ages to get a game on CoD! Sooo....any way i can change it even though you can't?
  4. I used to think the widespread use of mobile phone text messages was having a detrimental effect on the English language, and general spelling standards. Apparently it's not - in fact the converse is probably true. See here.... It's offishyal I saw that today. What a heap of ****. Its the same as saying that the majority of british children do not get support they need by parents. Rubbish. Kids are spoilt and get far too much. Be being one of them and i admit i get more than i should, though no way near as much as some people i know. These reports are a pile of rubbish...... Don't let Clach go down!
  5. Inverness United? Never heard of them. I only know Inverness City.
  6. If we don't sign him up we are screwed.
  7. I was just about to say the same thing, but then i realised the looks of envy i will get when DornochJAGGIE finds out i found a Caley player before he did for once!
  8. A man almost as far from my own heart as possible it seems. Just curious though, what is it that makes you support them? Or be so Right-wing?
  9. Ooops! what do the asterisks say...I don't read asterisks..comes with being a pensioner, I do better with decent English. Just how much more pathetic is it than Ross County......given that ICT has two of their squad in the Scotland under 16's as of now? How many Ross County players have been called up to play for their country lately? So Scotland scouts think those specific players are good enough to be called up..but you know different. Out of interest, how many Ross County u-19 players have had a decent run in the first team? If you have a friend playing for ICT who thinks it is crap...why has he not managed to find himself another better youth squad? I was under the impression that ICT resigns youth players from year to year...so all he has to do is refuse to resign if it is that bad, and tout his skills among other teams. If you have written to ICT regarding their youth policy, more power to your elbow..if you phrased it better than this post. However you have singularly failed to show where the youth setup at ICT is markedly different to that at Ross County, bar the fact that ICT has dropped their under 19 squad..and I have already said that I felt that that was a big mistake......and something which will eventually come back and bite them on the bum. Well Ross County actually have a number of youngsters that get on the bench regulary. Same as in our case. But Ross County have a built up a better team than us now anyway! Well put it this way, Ross County under 17's played Inverness 17's 4 times last season. They won 3 times and drew once. Also, Ross Grant, a boy from Tain who plays for County, was Captain for Scotland Under 16s a season or two ago. He also has played for the 19's a few times.
  10. Just what i was going to say :(
  11. Can you explain to me how they can show how good they are (regardless of whether you are talking about the current ex U-19s or the current Scotland U-16 players and any other decent players in the youth system) if ICT is not prepared to give them a chance..........and a chance is not sitting on the bench and getting on for the last few minutes of a game already won. The Hamilton system would be just as crap as you think the the ICT one is, if directors/management were not prepared to take a chance and accept the consequences. ICT is not prepared to take that chance because they fear the consequences. There is nothing wrong with the ICT youth system, as far as it goes....there is, however a problem with the attitude of the ICT hierarchy towards their youth system...as evidenced by the removal of the under 19 tier, which is the one which holds onto the best of those trained at cost to ICT over the years. Out of interest, just how do you know that the ICT youth set-up doesn't even look across all the Highlands? How could you know, as there is minimal information given about the youth setup on ICT's website compared to other teams within the system, such as Ross County? (is this not going off topic a shade? maybe worth a thread of its own) Don't start all you're ***** with me. I have written letters to ICT many times and i have had letters telling me where they scout in the Highlands. And the ICT youth set up is pathetic. Ross County are far superior in this feild. And i didnt say they were **** players did i? Idiot. I said they havn't shown it so we can't say for sure if they are that good or not. A boy in the year below me plays for ICT under 17's and told me that compaired to Ross County, ICT are pathetic youth wise.
  12. Yes, they are good young players, but they havn't really shown how good they are have they? Problem for me is that Hamilton are using a good youth set up to good wee players. But we are causing ourselves problems by having a ***** youth set up and one that doesn't even look across all the highlands!
  13. I had you down as being 17-18 yr old DC. Not based on any of your posts or that....just a conclusion i had came to Im 16 actually. But my Grampa collects records. Especially Beatles. But the fact he is 60 means he was around the same time as Hendrix and Led ect. So he is a fan of them. Any LP's i might like he lets me have. He also gave me one of his spare record players. Techniqually i don't have thousands. But he is giving me all his when he dies. Then i will have thousands.
  14. The annoying thing for me is than we don't get anything near the young players that Hamilton have had the past few seasons. Easton, McCarthy, McCarthur ect.
  15. This wee boy is fantastic. Everyone knew it when he played in Scotland, but to go down to the EPL and still play great at 19 is something special. He was far too good for the SPL and he will go on to even bigger things. Now if Hamilton can get guys like him. Why can't we?
  16. Taxation is only relative when measure against disposable income. For example, our minimum wage is a third of that in Sweden, their direct taxation being around 38% for someone on that wage and ours around 22% (including NI). Their indirect taxation is also slightly higher but their state provides so much more. Who is better off? How can students in Malmo think nothing of paying ?7 for a pint? Everything is relative. The Scandanavian counties are miles ahead of us. I went to Denmark a few years ago and i was astounded! The Tax we pay go to what? Getting roads which have nothing wrong with them redone and getting new offices for the HC. Yet in Denmark they have football pitches on every corner. They have a leasure Centre in nearly every town. I stayed in a own about the size of Dornoch and they had a Leasure Centre! Its mental. Loads of money goes straight back into the communities. They actually care about how healthy the people are. They make all these football pitches ect so the youth can keep fit and have fun. What do we have? We either play in a football pitch that is more like a mud bath or we have to pay to play somewhere. Fecking rediculous. They are miles ahead. Miles.
  17. I download new music onto my computer and listen to it on my itunes but i have thousands of LP's and any old music i have i use the LP's. Canna beat Stairway to Heaven belting out through my huge speakers!
  18. Caldwell had one decent season. He only looked so stand out last season was because the rest of the team was so ****.
  19. Brilliant!
  20. I thought he was solid. Would have liked to see him stay though it wasn't to be.
  21. And how do you know this? Where are you getting this information from? Thats one side of the coin. Cuba is by no means perfect. What country is? But you are looking at it in a stupid way tbh. Oh, and Trade Union and political association are permitted in Cuba. Stop listening to whoever tells you otherwise. http://www.poptel.org.uk/cuba-solidarity/C...nionsToday.html Have a wee read of that
  22. As someone said, Killen did well when given the chance. I liked Robson and was a good player for Celtic but they have more than adiquate cover if not better. ZZ=Chinese guy, The New Korean guy, McGinn and Maloney are all good players that can play opposite wing to McGeady. It certainly reads like you think the board's "contractual retardedness" is at fault for us not getting a cut of the deal ! Perhaps you should be "staggered" that we got anything when he went from Dundee Utd to Celtic given this "retardedness". There are many things we can slag the club, board or major shareholders about, this is not one of them Well said!
  23. I think Jeffries is a fantastic manager tbh. What he did at Kilmarnock was brilliant. Not many managers could work for 8 years with a working mans budget in a football club and a Chairman who is a tit. He done a great job and deserves all the plaudits he can get. Would love to see him at ICT.
  24. No more of a basket case than the succession of US backed dictatorships and their Chicago School chums who have ravaged Latin America over the last few decades. At least Chavez is accountable to his electorate, most of which lives in dire poverty and sees an opportunity to redistribute some of the wealth and power that has been concentrated in the hands of a relatively small elite since the oil was discovered in the 20's. Personally, i don't have much faith in Chavez' domestic project. His lasting legacy will be the effect that his rhetoric and his race has had on the rest of the region. The idea that the indigenous and the poor can stand up to the power that has kept them down for so long is permeating throughout Latin America. ?El pueblo unido, jam?s ser? vencido! Point i was trying to get across. The US have backed so many Fascist dictators in Latin America. Without the US most the Dictators would never have came to power. The US have exploited South America for a long, long time. And they will continue to do so. Atleast Castro had the balls to stand up to them.
