Since the issue is avoiding or, worse, evading legitimate taxation on income and since there is no income; taxable or otherwise, to be derived from investing in ICT or, with the possible exception of Celtic, any other Scottish football team for that matter, it is a none issue and there is no point in trying to create an issue when none exists.

Who do you think is the fault of Caley current standard of team?
Kingsmills replied to Blair's topic in Caley Thistle
Entirely agree. I've wondered that for over twenty years now. -

Yes. Wigan released him from his contract. -

Billy McKay has never been a Dundee United player other than on loan and the only time he has ever moved with a transfer fee involved was when we sold him to Wigan. -
That is worrying. It's no coincidence that his return has coincided with our much improved defensive record.

Where is Snekboy when you need him ? I have a vague memory that Mark Brown went nine games without conceding.

Sixth consecutive clean sheet, sixth game in a row undefeated. A point away against one of the form teams in the division. Surely nobody can be too unhappy with that after our dreadful start to the campaign. It might be too late to mount a serious promotion push for this season but we certainly now seem to be laying the foundations for having a proper go next. Mid season respectability and run in the Scottish Cup would represent decent consolidation. Goal scoring remains an issue but that has been the case since Billy McKay left first time around. However, our early season defensive incontinence seems well behind us and the coaches and players including the much criticised, by myself as much as anybody, Mark Ridgers deserve great credit for that. We now, for the first time in a couple of years, appear to have a solid foundation on which to build.

There were very legitimate concerns about no information or, worse still, misleading information coming from the club during the close season and the very beginning of this. However, under the new chairman, the club has gone a long way to remedy that and, frankly, I wouldn't be getting too het up about a delay in officially posting details of a friendly match arranged at short notice which will involve fringe players and is not even being hosted by the club. As has been said, the details of the match are widely known from other sources, I honestly don't know why you seem so exercised by the matter.

Steady on there. While I am all for having the option of healthier alternatives I don't want the health police depriving me of my half time pie. As far as I'm aware, those in my vicinity will not be suffering from passive pastry consumption. Add healthy options but keep the pies, which are as big a tradition at football as suspecting that the referee in myopic, just get them locally sourced and more tasty.
-
The pies are very average and poor value. A quality local supplier would have the double advantage of improving the quality of the catering from a fan point of view and provide good will locally. Any loss of income from the point of view of the club could be compensated for by increasing the prices slightly which I'm sure most people would be happy to pay for better quality.

Good, pleased to hear that. The important thing was not necessarily to do it quickly but to do it properly.

University of Stirling : Youth Cup (H) : 29/10/17
Kingsmills replied to ICTFC's topic in Caley Thistle
Well, we did indeed do well to beat that full time team 2-0. With the first team improving every week and the youths doing so well, being an ICT fan is a good deal more fun than it was a few months ago. -
..and equally, now that things are going better, should now be showing their appreciation of the change of fortunes loudly and clearly.

It's taken a while to become evident but it looks like there might well be a positive legacy to Foran's time in charge in the form of Jake Mulraney. He frustrated for the whole of the season and at the start of this but John Robertson has managed to get him playing to his potential. If we continue to play like this and Doran comes back anything like his former self, we might just shake up this division after all despite our dismal start. Away to an in form Livingston will be another stern test but one we are well capable of passing.

A fair enough observation but let's concentrate on the positives and, right now, there seem to be more of those with every passing week.

You need to get out more.

If it's inexpensive football you want why don't you go along at two o'clock on Sunday to watch the youngsters in the Youth Cup ? Entry is free and, judging on results and performances so far, entertainment is virtually guaranteed.
-
Falkirk are from a higher division and we are further into the competition. I see no difficulty with it.

In the continuing spirit of pedantry, the name of the club they would have supported for most of the time was indeed Inverness Caledonian. The geographical prefix was only shed in the 1980s as a consequence of the club falling out with the council when they failed to facilitate a planned move to a proposed new ground in the Carse.
-
A helpful clarification and I suspect that most of us 'of a certain vintage' are familiar with a number of the names referred to.
-
.and a bit of a headache from your surprise defeat ?
-
The George is probably superfluous. Doubt that anyone would have assumed that you were referring to Fred Orwell. For what it's worth, nobody is stifling argument or debate even vigorous and robust debate, that's the lifeblood of this forum. What is objected to is personal abuse and insults. Surely, as adults, we are capable of disagreeing with somebody else without resorting to abusing them. You wouldn't, or at least shouldn't, do that to their face do why should it be any more acceptable to do so online ?
-
Well done. Sensibly priced and great to see the future fan base being encouraged to come along with free admission.

This is simply an effort to circumvent the thread that was locked for good reason so is locked.

To be fair, that's not all national service personnel were taught. They were taught the noble skills of vicious bullying, abuse of power, misogyny, homophobia and racism as well.
