  1. Would be better playing it on the goal line instead of Ridgers.
  2. Don't bother on my account. I have little doubt that there is much truth in that statement.
  3. Does anyone believe that Coyle wasn't provisionally sounded out before Roy McGregor made his move ? That's not a criticism, by the way, I just wish that we were able to conduct such business as efficiently and effectively.
  4. Sadly so However, the new club shop represents a step towards putting that right.
  5. The fact that they are already discussing terms with Owen Coyle might suggest that they are indeed a bit more organised than us and that they did indeed have a plan in place.
  6. The manager who did so well at Hibs and then at Newport County ?
  7. Maybe so but the main thing is that it has been done now. We had, for many years, a Premiership team but have never had anything approaching a Premiership infrastructure. Good to see a bit of progress off the pitch. A lot more to be done but this represents a good start.
  8. That was firmly my view this time last season and for far too long thereafter. Perhaps harsh but we need to take that bitter lesson on board and not repeat the same mistake.
  9. For goodness sake, have we not suffered enough !
  10. Whatever you think of them, you can bet that, unlike us, County will not have dispensed with the services of their manager without having a firm plan for his replacement.
  11. He has a track record of doing just that when the going gets tough so may well do so.
  12. To be honest, I would be happy to take him if Robbo does resign. An experienced and generally successful manager who knows the league well.
  13. Glory hunter ?
  14. I am not sure that any new board members need to bring capital with them. What we badly need is at least someone on the board with a depth of footballing knowledge.
  15. If we are striving for consistency then we've achieved it at least in defence. Our defending has been consistently abysmal all season.
  16. A concern that, as the game wore on, the part time players of Dumbarton looked fitter and with more stamina than ours.
  17. Agreed. One of our strengths from the time of Steve Paterson onwards has been the unity and camaraderie in the dressing room. John Hughes destroyed that and and it has remained broken since. If we can restore that spirit in the dressing room we will be half way to starting our revival and recovery.
  18. Agree with much of that but not sure that my patience will stretch to Christmas. Should there be no improvement or significant signs of improvement by mid November under the current regime I doubt there ever will be and the decision ought to be made then.
  19. Hopefully sometime but, where ever we're going this season, it certainly doesn't look like back to the Premier.
  20. Can I have three consecutive league wins for mine ?
  21. I agree. However, I have even less faith in the club doing anything about it in timely fashion.
  22. I don't think that we will finish bottom this season and thus be relegated automatically. Fortunately for us, Brechin appear to be out of their depth in this division and will probably occupy that place. However, under the current manager and coaches, I can increasingly imagine us having to play off to avoid successive demotions. That will be no easy task as, unlike the Premiership, these play offs are not rigged in favour of the side from the higher tier. I don't think action needs to be taken just yet but if things do not improve substantially over the next half dozen matches or so a decision has to be made. However, there will be a financial dilemma. Can we afford to terminate the contract of yet another manager ? Or, given the consequences of carrying on regardless like last season, can we afford not to. It was a strange move and a huge gamble to appoint a manager who had been out of the game for a decade and who had failed in his last two positions. Sadly, as he seems a decent and personable man, it looks more and more like that gamble has backfired A club of our size has no divine right to success and a place in the top league but I do think we have the right to expect better than being humbled and humiliated by Dunfermline and to suffer successive losses to Livingston and Dumbarton.
  23. Impossible to take issue with that.
  24. A much more promising looking starting XI..
  25. No fan of either of the Ugly sisters but it has to be said that when it comes to attendance at Europa League finals, the Celtic fans who went to Seville, however many of them there were, certainly conducted themselves rather better than the Rangers fans who made the somewhat shorter trip to Manchester a few years later. A great pity, for all concerned, that when their team died our football authorities made it so easy for them to start up a new one
