Personally, I believe that if those banned are prepared to apologise either in writing or, better still, in person to Liam Polworth then the bans should be lifted immediately. The conduct was terrible but we all make mistakes and deserve a second chance. If, on the other hand, they are not prepared to acknowledge that they did wrong and say sorry, then I would have no difficulty with those involved being banned for the rest of the season.
-
I have to disagree. This sort of conduct has been going on for far too long and came to a disgraceful and completely unacceptable head yesterday. Fans are entitled to show frustration and disappointment but what happened in a small section of the North Stand was wholly out of order. Pleased that the club are conducting an enquiry and I hope that the culprits are identified but I don't accept that that should stifle debate on the subject. This is an opportunity to lance this boil once and for all otherwise, once Polworth is gone, those responsible for hounding him out will just pick on another victim and scapegoat as they've always done in the past.

Seriously ? Someone has the humility and good grace to apologise and gets a red dot for their troubles.

Some of our 'support' stooped to a new low yesterday directing abuse at a member of a player's family. One of the best players to have come through our youth system and an Inverness lad will likely be away in January or the end of the season and who can blame him.
-
Surely, that was never in doubt.
-
We all did stupid and I'll considered things as teenagers. It's part of learning, growing and maturing but directing abuse against the entirely innocent members of a player's family just because he might not be having the best of games is utterly appalling conduct whatever your age. It's not the ICT way and needs to stop now. Some acknowledgment that it was wrong and an apology to go with it would demonstrate an element of maturity that was missing from those concerned yesterday afternoon.

Entirely agree. It was a poor performance and a hugely frustrating afternoon but getting on the players back is not going to help. We need all the positive vocal support we can muster but it seems to me that too many of our fans only raise their voices to criticise rather than chant or shout support.

It was a bad day at the office and we effectively threw away two points not just through the penalty miss but through a complete lack of creativity or any sense from the manager that he knew how to change it. However, we are two games into the season, have four points on the board and no goals conceded so it's hardly a disaster. As for You, offering violence to fellow fans or indeed anyone else is wholly unacceptable so you will find that that was your last post in this thread.

Hopefully, that will remain the case for a few seasons to come. Still not everyone has easy access to the internet.

I know that he had a testimonial many years ago but can the club please look into organising a benefit match for his family ? I am sure that the ground would be well filled whatever the opposition.
-
Very often not a first pick between the sticks during his years with us but had always been dependable when called upon and has contributed on the coaching front in more recent seasons. A well deserved reward. Like others, Aberdeen would seem to me to be the obvious choice as opponents. As DD alluded to, they would appear to be at a loose end on Thursday evenings for the next few months.

So very sad and sorry to hear that. As a Thistle fan I grudgingly admired him and after the merger I was delighted that he was playing for my team rather than against it. A credit to himself and to to sometime unfairly maligned community from which he came and sincere condolences to those close to him for their untimely bereavement. A part of our club history and will always be remembered as such.

You mean those rampant Nationalists who simply wish to govern their own affairs like any normal nation, who wish to be fully integrated with their European neighbours rather than the devastating economic and cultural isolationism that is soon to be imposed on us despite voting overwhelmingly against it and those rampant Nationalists who welcome immigration and fully appreciate the economic good that immigrants and refugees bring to the country ? As dougiedanger says, what a wonderful country for you to have moved to. Just a pity about all those whinging Jocks you have to put up with. They really need to learn their place.

Not going to the home derbies then ?

Since when has the Press and Journal been an Inverness newspaper ?

Falkirk, with a population smaller than Inverness, has always supported their team In greater numbers than us. That was obvious when they took six thousand more to the cup final than we did. All the more credible then that we have been much more of a fixture in the top league than them or the likes of Dunfermline, who are similarly well supported, over the last two decades and have won more major silverware.
-
An away win and a clean sheet against a team to probably have a bigger budget than us this season is an excellent way to start the league campaign. A similar result on day one last season would have seen us in the play offs. A lot of hard work lies ahead but to see us start this season in the manner we ended last is very encouraging.

The trouble was that they were followed by two more without reply in the second half by which time we were feeling much less pleased with ourselves. However, that is now over and done with and we need to concentrate on getting back to winning ways on Saturday. Falkirk made an even worse start to their league campaign last season than we did so will be as keen as we are to get this season off to a better start. Three points on Saturday and the Hearts game will soon begin to fade in the memory.
-
Well, this thread seems somewhat redundant now so I will lock it.
-
Probably but a fair bit wealthier in the process at a time when we are desperately short of cash. Yes Hearts were good, yes they are a cut above us in terms of quality but we were in the fortunate position of knowing precisely what we had to do and that was merely to avoid defeat by four or more goals and, despite being armed with that advantage, failed in that task. Not a disaster as the cups are not our priority but still a considerable disappointment which does not merit being brushed off so casually.
-
One we were gutted to lose the final of on penalties not so very long ago and one we would have been delighted to progress further in this season.

That reignited spark got a bit damp today.
