  1. I don't see a single post expressing negative views towards the armed forces. Some, however, do take issue with a particular group of individuals being given preferential treatment when other equally, or perhaps more, deserving groups do not.
  2. It seems from some of the reaction to this tongue in cheek post that some people lack any sense of humour.
  3. A few weeks ago there was legitimate cause for concern based on poor play and poor results. Now there is legitimate cause for optimism based on better play and better results. Surely that has to be welcomed by everyone getting behind the push rather than bickering about whether fans were justified in posting criticism at a time when such comments seemed to have some justification. We are all fans of ICT, some are happy clappers who will never criticise no matter how bad things get. Others prefer to air their concerns and criticism. It's called free speech and this forum would be a very dull place without it.
  4. Many of these services can be outsourced but we certainly need at least one director, executive or otherwise, with knowledge and experience of the business and practice of football on the board. We got away with it for a while whilst things were generally stable on the football management side but over the last three seasons have been increasingly exposed.
  5. Don't worry. Sportscene show highlights of certain Championship games. Oh, I forgot, for some odd reason, they stopped doing so two seasons ago.
  6. Can you please make the same prediction next week.
  7. If any fans have being staying away, time to return next week to watch us take the wind out of the Pars sails with our first home league win of the season.
  8. Well done to all concerned. Sounds like we were were worth that win and particularly well done to the much maligned, including by myself, Mark Ridgers for what sounded like a very competent performance between the sticks. I think that the Arabs, with their budget twice as much as everyone else, have just replaced us as the Championship's crisis club.
  9. Four games, two wins, no defeats, five goals scored, none conceded. I think that the club, and all the rest of us, can fairly claim an unbeaten run. Now to take the wind out of the Dunfermline sails and get our first home league win of the season next week.
  10. I am not sure that the jingoistic neoimperialist example of the USA, especially under it's present leadership, is something to be admired. It certainly isn't something to be copied.
  11. Any at all is too much.
  12. No, there are some people very concerned about the prospects of a second successive relegation and the potential consequences of that for the long term future of the club. That said, as I've said before on this thread and elsewhere, the current manager needs to be given a bit more time to try to turn things around, and there have been some encouraging signs lately but we can't possibly afford to repeat the mistakes of last season.
  13. A few hundred that is.
  14. Or unemployed and existing on benefits day ?
  15. Three matches if you include the win over Peterhead. Three matches unbeaten may not be a run yet but, with three welcome clean sheets as well, it might just be a start.
  16. They might be even more helpful if you ask for a match programme.
  17. Should probably avoid the cider in case it's made from bad apples.
  18. We will not challenge for promotion and, with any luck, will avoid a second relegation. Next season our parachute payment will be half of what it is this. For that reason; I would be inclined to keep any resources we have for Summer recruitment and hopefully a promotion push next season.
  19. Beats Tony Macaroni..or Global Energy for that matter.
  20. Such personal abuse is wholly unacceptable. Any more and you will be barred from posting any further on this thread.
  21. Actually, I want to be entertained as well. The two seemed to go hand in hand almost every game in the days of Steve Paterson and quite often happened under Terry Butcher as well. The two are not and should not be mutually exclusive and, for what it's worth, I've spent more than a few evenings at Eden Court over the years failing to be entertained and you can't even console yourself with a bloody pie at half time !
  22. I don't like the crowd getting on the players backs but if a few moans and groans from the stands is what is stopping professional footballers play to their ability then perhaps we should get some thicker skinned players.
  23. Strachan was the author of his own misfortune.
  24. If that's what it takes then so be it...but maybe somewhere a bit less public next time.
  25. Maybe not half way but we have certainly made a start. Robbo needs to be given at least until the end of November to see whether he can build on that start. If he can, and I'm sure we all hope he can, well and good. If not, we can't afford to make the same mistake as last season. At the very least though, the manager has bought himself more time and deserves the right to be able to make use of that time for now.
