If he is still on the payroll, for us not to have the option, in practice, for it to be the other way about is highly unsatisfactory.

A chance to maintain our 100% record at Glebe Park this century.
-
It doesn't help when some of those who are not currently office bearers are sniping from the sidelines rather than contributing constructively.

Steady on. An encouraging performance and a few welcome goals against a part time team with a budget about a quarter of our massively reduced one. Nice to get a win and be off the bottom but far far too little evidence as yet to be talking of the side that got tanked at East End Park as possible league winners.

I don't care where Falkirk end the season other than lower down than us.

The best people tend to be.

To be fair to those who've worked hard to make it happen, we are now witnessing the progress that has been made quietly and without fuss behind the scenes. I agree, well done, not just to Liz, but to all those concerned.

He certainly isn't going to earn a living from his 'art'.

It may be old news but still worth making the point that Raven has been a fine servant and would improve our defence just now. It makes no sense whatsoever to be paying him but not fully utilising him.

A well publicised online weekly or monthly draw is an excellent idea.

Whilst it won't raise a fortune, the release of naming rights should generate an annual five figure sum which will go a little way to plugging our current funding gap.

The first step in addressing any problems is in recognising and acknowledging that there are problems. It looks as though the club have now done this and have been more frank and open than they have been for a very long time. Many of those issues have been in place for a very long time so we can't expect instant solutions but if, over the next few months, communication and honesty improve and we begin to see progress both with the team and with some of the very poor facilities that we have had to put up with then we will know that this present regime are delivering with deeds and not merely words. All in all a very welcome and encouraging start. The board have received, and rightly so, a lot of criticism of late but credit where it's due. Time now for us fans to stop carping and get fully behind the enormous challenge and effort that lies ahead.

Somebody thought that yesterday's referee was as good as average. Should surely go to Specsavers.
-
Maybe so but that is the past and we can do nothing about it now other than learn the lessons from it. Time to look to the future.

So far, the standard of football in the Championship appears not too different to the lower reaches of the Premiership. The standard of refereeing, however, is abysmal.

Perhaps the silver lining to this week's cloud is that, with Seedorf being suspended, we might start Raven at last. A defence with both Warren and Raven in it would surely be less porous and, once he has served his suspension, would release Seedorf to play wide further forward where he looks to have some potential.

Really demonstrates how the balance of power has changed with County signing our best player and us being reduced to taking players from them who are not good enough to be first team regulars.

I too have had first hand experience of this dreadful illness and have expressed sympathy for all victims and their families. I am all for much more understanding and sympathy for altzheimers and it's many victims both direct and indirect. I feel similarly strongly about other ailments impacting on mental as well as physical health which is precisely why, much as I have sympathy for him now, there is an irony in a man who showed little sympathy or understanding for a vulnerable subordinate suffering from depression now appealing for such understanding himself.

I appreciate that the intention may be to offload both OFW and David Raven but the fact is they are here and we are paying their salaries for now OFW looks a great deal safer and more reliable than Ridgers and Raven is better than any other defender currently at the club. Given how we are leaking goals, why are we not utilising them ?

In our position, every little helps and a cup win is always pleasing.

I would like us to take it as seriously as any other competition. Probably our only chance of silverware this season and, were we to reach the final, some reasonable and much needed income to be gained.
-
Whilst the standard of football wasn't the best, that game was definitely not forgettable. I will remember that game and the whole day for as long as I live.

While I have a great deal of sympathy for anyone afflicted by this dreadful debilitating illness and for their families, there is an inescapable irony in Jimmy Calderwood appealing for understanding of a mental health related ailment.

After all the critism of the silence and, worse still, misinformation coming from the club, such a frank statement has to be welcome as, in my view, is the resignation of the current chairman who, in his short tenure, has presided over chaotic administration and communication to such an extent that his position very quickly became untenable. His going is the right thing to do, possibly the only right thing he had done as chairman and his replacement is a first and necessary step to restoring our reputation and credibility. As for restoring our place in the Premiership, that is going to be a difficult and uphill task given our limited financed but it will be an impossible task without everyone from the boardroom to the dressing room to the stands putting recent differences behind us and now pulling in the same direction.
