  1. Kingsmills replied to ed's topic in Caley Thistle
Given that JH seems to find it almost impossible to recruit quality players to the club I find it surprising and disappointing that he is not prioritising the resigning of a very reliable and versatile defender who is already here and who has gone on record as wanting to commit his future to us. Ifind it even more disturbing and surprising that he is not starting at a time when we are leaking the soft sort of goals we seldom do when he is playing. I hope that rumours of a falling out with the manager are not true but if they are I know which one I would rather stay....
  2. I am far from convinced that the league would have been so obliging if it had been us making the request....
  3. Hearts have a much larger squad than most in the Premiership and certainly much larger than ours. All teams take their chances with injury, illness and suspension in the course of the season. At one point we had close to a whole starting XI on the treatment table and had to fulfil our fixtures. Unless Hearts can produce compelling medical evidence that they don't have eleven players fit enough to play then the game should go ahead.
  4. That is a bittersweet one...
  5. Came on in the last minute of today's victory over Northern Ireland to win his first under 21 cap. Well done Liam. Hopefully the start of a bright international future.
  6. Good informative article. I would love to see Aaron given a new contract and the opportunity to establish himself again as a first team regular.
  7. They are indeed. I once broke a seat at Fir Park by sitting down rather too firmly....need to shed a stone or two...
  8. It's a great shame that a thread that should be celebrating a welcome and comprehensive derby triumph has deteriorated into a debate about the conductof a few fans.
  9. The young fans have brought a great new dimension to our games both home and away recently with their noise and colour which I am sure is noticed and greatly appreciated by the team and the vast majority of the rest of the fans. It would be a great pity of that positive image they have generated for both themselves and the club were to be tarnished by immature and criminal activity by the few apparently endorsed by some misguided posters on this site.
  10. Are you familiar with the expression when you're in a hole....stop digging...?
  11. Jumping on plastic seats tends to break them. Damages someone else's property is vandalism. Vandalism is a crime. How would you like it if a guest in your house deliberately damaged your sofa ? Not funny and not clever.
  12. Adding to the dilemma of who to retain, Brill or Fon Williams. Good in a way to have the option.
  13. Would much rather live within our means. History suggests that having the backing of apparently wealthy backers in Scottish football tends to end in tears....

Hughes looked a lot like a footballer at Dingwall on Saturday....
  15. Unconfirmed speculation on fan websites. Aye....that's bound to be accurate....
  16. That is the most ridiculous post on this thread. Say what you like about the Butcher regime but one thing they did do was recruit very well and secure talented players on contracts of reasonable duration usually in pretty good time. We won the cup last season and qualified for Europe with a squad almost entirely recruited and secured under the previous regime. It's a real concern that so many of those players have now left or are not being secured for the future especially as the replacements brought in so far on a very similar budget are much more miss than hit. Concerning times.
  17. I agree with what you say about Liam Hughes. It is fair to say that he has not exactly set the heather on fire but he did have his best game by far against County. That was because the more direct and not to say more effective and entertaining style of play suits him far better as indeed it does most of our players. Come on Yogi, you gave it every chance but time to admit that tippy tappy sideways football is not working and abandon it. Play in the style we did in Dinwall and not only will we steer clear of the play offs but top six is still distinctly possible.
  18. Whatever the legal status, I would be surprised and disappointed if the club had any issues with teams called either Caledonian or Thistle playing in the local welfare or amateur leagues. Has no detriment to our club at all and keeps those famous old names alive.
  19. Agreed, the same form and, even more importantly, the same fighting and positive spirit.
  20. They don't make the club look a joke but they do make themselves look pathetic, immature and ridiculous. They have had enough warnings and personally, once the CCTV footage is reviewed, I hope that a few of them receive a knock on their doors. Vandalism and offensive behaviour would not be tolerated on the High Street or the Eastgate Centre, It shouldn't be tolerated in a football ground.
  21. Top six may be a distant prospect now but still not quite impossible. Whether it's a last effort to get into the top six or vital points to stay ahead of the relegation battle tomorrow's trip to Dingwall is huge and a draw would favour County much more than us as it would consolidate their place in the top six and their lead over us. If we win this match and our game in hand over Hearts we will be on the same points total as the Dingwall men and could still pip them for that place in thetop six. Personally, to end the league season, for once, in their shadows would hurt almost as badly as ending up in the Championship. There is no room for negativity either on or off the pitch we need to go all out for the win. I know we are all scunnered after recent results and performances but let's get overthebridge in good heart, good voice and good numbers to roar Richie Foran and the boys to victory and take a bit of the shine off their trophy and a bit of gloss off that five minute open top bus parade around Dingwall while at the same time turning our end of season around.
  22. Did we field an inelegant player ?
  23. Or the cringe worthy loving they got from our manager.....
  24. We have shown similar passion and desire quite a few times this season but seldom if ever for 90minutes and almost always when it's too late....
  25. Maybe so but the seats are designed for sitting not standing. Personally, I no issue with fans standing at the back but standing for any length of time elsewhere is selfish and inconsiderate and obscuring someone else's view. In such a situation, I would hope and expect a steward to have a word.
