I doubt if anyone on this site is a 'yogi hater'. Some of us had legitimate and growing concerns about the direction he was taking the team in, yet more of us thoroughly dislike the way he has played the media and exploited the club for his own benefit in recent weeks and months but I would be very surprised if anyone hates him. Such inflammatory terminology doesn't add to the debate at all.

This is one thing on which there seems to be absolute unanimity and is surely one piece of business that can be done without a new manager in place. Any potential new manager who doesn't see the merit of having Raven in the squad is probably not a manager we would want.

I have to disagree. Steve Paterson is a club legend as are the likes of Ross Tokely, Barry Wilson, Grant Munro, Dennis Wyness and Iain Stewart. Yogi had that status too in his grasp despite this last season but by his actions over the last couple of months has forfeited it.
  4. Should you not be drowning your play off sorrows ?
  5. In that case, while you are welcome to keep Bucher can you please give Foran back to the club. We have need of him.
  6. The job is an attractive one. We will not be short of applicants many of decent quality.

There was very little doubt after what was said and, more to the point, what was not said, after the Dundee game. The end of a notable chapter in the story of ICT and time to start writing the next one.

Form and a stubborn inability to learn from past mistakes, I believe it has been said elsewhere that Yogi is not as daft as many believe him to be but not nearly as clever as he thinks he is. How very true.

That is a very good question and I am intrigued to discover the answer.

Exactly this, hopefully recent developments will have the double bonus of enabling us to retain our fine and fully committed right back as well as being able to employ Meekings in his most effective position in central defence.
  14. As it's now abundantly clear that we will be looking for a new manager within a matter of days who would you like do see appointed and why ? Personally, I would be pleased with Paul Sheerin. He did well at Arbroath and has experience now at working at coaching level at a Premiership club. He is familiar with the club and with the area, my only concern would be whether his contact book would be entirely comprehensive and up to date.

Malpas has only ever been remotely successful as assistant to Bucher and that combination has had it's day. It would also be difficult to overlook the unnecessarily disparaging comments Malpas made about the club and the support when offered the manager's job in his own right.

I am disappointed although not surprised that it has come to this. Firstly, it's only proper to give credit where it is due. John Hughes deserves much, although far from all of the credit for our fantastic and historic success last season. I am fairly sure that that will represent the pinnacle of his career and while we are grateful for his contribution he should also be grateful to the club and Kenny Cameron in particular for giving him the opportunity when his stock was so low that Morton fans were horrified that he might be appointed to their manager's seat which was vacant at the same time as ours. Whilst last season will, in my view prove to be the height of John Hughes's career, It won't be the height of the club's. They might not come round with great frequency but there will be managers in the future who will win silverware for ICT and lead the team into Europe but Yogi will always be the first and will always have his place in our history. He could, in these circumstances have walked away with his head held high if he had been honest and straightforward and told the chairman that he could not improve on this frankly disappointing season on the money, a record sum for us remember, being made available to him. Instead he chose to sign a new contract which is highly lucrative to him personally and only then try to blackmail and bully the directors very much into the public domain into giving him funds that he had already been informed were impossible without risking the club's future. Yogi has form in this respect and did precisely the same thing at Falkirk. Their board caved in and gave him money which he squandered on duds and has beens resulting in their relegation and very nearly financial oblivion. Hibs are another club yet to fully recover from his mismanagement. I am pleased that our board has not capitulated and have put the long term viability first. Yogi, by acting in the way he has has cleverly ensured that he walks away with a wedge of ICT cash but in the process has, in my view severely tarnished that place he earned in the history of Inverness Caledonian Thistle. There will be uncertainty for a spell, we will have to examine the way we do these things in the future but the club will go on and personally I am now looking forward to the new season with a great deal more enthusiasm and sense of optimism than I was a few days ago.
  17. I can see why he might be tempted. As well as the better money probably on offer both these teams have proper strikers on their books allowing him to play in his more natural wider role.
  18. Scarlet, our victory over Dundee ensured that there was no effect on our final league position and as a result our place money. The points would make no difference and we suffered no financial loss so there would be nothing to sue for. In fact, it could be argued that having the 'best of the rest' position at stake might have added a couple of hundred to the gate on Saturday resulting in a modest financial gain.

If it was a conspiracy, which I doubt, it certainly didn't work !
  20. When it comes to our recent dealings, due to be finalised seems to be a very long way indeed from actually being finalised.

Although, having released him in his prime, coming back to haunt us is probably what we deserve.

Or another Falkirk who are only now beginning to recover from JH's mismanagement towards the end of his period in charge.
  23. Last game of the season and seventh place and with it vital place money at stake. Some of us might not be enamoured with the manager, others are critical of the board but we are all behind the team. Let's get there in numbers to show our appreciation for the efforts of the players some of whom we will likely be seeing for the last time.
  24. Of course football is different. Supporting the club is almost in the DNA. Managers come and go, success comes and wanes but true supporters don't stop going but that is all the more reason for clubs, managers and boards to take the views of fans into account as one of the factors in making any major decisions.

I wonder who will get most vocal backing today, the Manager Of The Month or the right back deemed surplus to requirements.
