England need Ireland
To go off topic all together for a moment, while it could have been more diplomatically phrased, I fully agree with what PMF has to say on the matter of Unionists and their less than honest manipulation of statistics. Now, back on topic, England didn't fare quite so well today even with assistance from their Hibernian and South African friends.

Champions League
Nothing to do with the demise of Rangers but a consequence of our co-efficiency rating dropping due to consistently poor performances by our sides in Europe in recent seasons. Still, a place in the Europa Cup would not be sniffed at.

McInnes gets the chop
With money so tight at Ashton Gate it seemed odd that McInnes was permitted by the board to splash out £200,000 on Liam Kelly 48 hours prior to being axed.

County threat
Moved to Other Football as it has little to do directly with ICT.

Merger Talk
That was one reason given as was the fact that Clach were a limited company whereas Thistle and Caley were members clubs and that any amalgamation between the three would be complex. The latter argument held less water than the first.

Merger Talk
The reason Clach pulled out is fairly well known but there was and remains no conclusive proof and as many of those involved are still alive any comments should be carefully thought through before posting.

Proposed new league structure
Think you will find that the SFL proposal was quite sensible. This nonsense is being driven by the SPL.

Proposed new league structure
Am I now going to have to rely on my children to explain how the league system works as well as for IT advice ? Was there something amiss with teams playing each other home and away each season with the best winning the league and the worst heading down through the relegation trapdoor ?

Clach v Cove Rangers
This thread inspired me to take in my first Highland League match of the season. Went to Banff to watch Deveronvale take on Inverurie Loccos. The match itself was a fairly dull affair with loads of endeavor but not much skill or composure but lit up in the end by a goal for the visitors what seemed deep into injury time. How deep into stoppage time was difficult to say due to the absence of a fourth official. Good, however to see a team playing in vertical red and black stripes playing and prevailing at a Highland League ground. The quality of the football aside, the matchday experience was a joy. Self and two sons paying at the gate and getting change from a twenty pound note. A healthy away following permitted to enjoy themselves and indulge in banter with the home fans without a steward in sight. Piping hot tea and delicious pies procured for about half the price at the TCS and back in the car and away from the ground within three minutes of the final whistle. Would recommend at least one visit to a Highland League ground per season to anyone. P

Safe Standing
Even if the SPL were to sanction it, the club are in no position financially to install a safe standing area.

Merger Talk
Or, more accurately ICT 3, Ross County 1

Jan Transfers
Saw that. Looks like a good bit of business by County even if it is short term.

If only we could be so lucky........
Is there anything the Charles Green and his new ' Director of Communications' will not say to pander to the moronic legions...

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
You are very welcome and I certainly wish you well in your quest to find a new manager and escape relegation. If you ever find yourself in this part of the world why don't you come along and watch the entertainment at the TCS for yourself ?

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
I can spell, I can use grammar appropriately but I will never get the hang of using a keyboard. Where the hell did that comma come from ? !

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Why not ? I say pedants of the world unite.

Merger Talk
Only the 10th of January but surely already a candidate for the most crass and cringeworthy post of 2013.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
No real hurry. We don't have a game for another fortnight another day of uncertainty will not be a disaster.
-
Absolutely disgraceful
Are they not concerned that this system was such a failure in the only other country ever to employ it that it has now been abandoned there ?

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
I see that Barnsley have today sold their top scorer to divisional rivals Bolton for £300,000. An odd turn of events given their managerial state of flux. Hardly redolent of ambition. Still believe Butcher is on his way.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
While not too concerned about Butcher, I would be sad indeed if Adams disappeared off to Yorkshire. Would remove an element of pleasure from life.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Better managers have left ICT and have been successfully replaced. Onwards and upwards. The compensation will come in useful and if we secure an ambitious young manager his salary will be less than Butcher's maybe freeing up some cash for the club.
