  1. Would be much more concerned to see him depart than the management duo.
  2. One thing does concern me about Butcher going is that Richie Foran is likely to follow him.
  3. ...and pedantic...
  4. I have a strong feeling that he will go. Looking at it objectively, Barnsley are a much larger club than us with a much greater fan base and more potential than us. His salary and player budget will be much enhanced and he probably feels he still has a point to prove in management in his native land. Personally, while a bit disappointed given the season we are having, I would be far from devastated as we have a pretty good record over the years in successfully replacing departing managers. The one thing I would not relish is Butcher leaving with Malpas staying and replacing him as manager. The latter seems a good coach and has been generally successful as Butcher's right hand man but has a dismal record as a manager in his own right. Paul Hartley anyone ?
  5. Watching us draw against Killie in the cup when they were an SPL and we were not with Killie having a goal not awarded despite crossing our line by about a yard and a half. Pity about the replay.
  6. The atmosphere at Tannadice for our first really big 'home' cup game and the ovation given to the players at the end despite the result. Putting 5 past Arbroath in our very first league game even being at Telford Street cheering on a team in blue seemed counter intuitive.
  7. Graham certainly an ex SPL striker with many fine qualities but, unless an episode of his career passed me by completely, he was never prolific. A tireless worker though.
  8. Entertaining, no doubt if you are into darts, skillful, without doubt. I certainly couldn't do it. sport, no.
  9. Not sure this merits being under 'Other Sports'. Personally, can't bring myself to view an activity involving overweight middle aged men swilling beer and making a concerted effort to keep Imperial Tobacco in business as a sport. It's no more a sport than snooker or ten pin bowling.
  10. That's the one I had in mind.
  11. Which ICT player played a full match against the club whilst a signed player and not out on loan ?
  12. Whereas a predominately blue top with minor red piping is utterly unique.
  13. Having now to resort to taking my sons to Pittodrie as the only way now to bring an end the seemingly never ending round of visiting distant relatives. Ach at least it's a game of football.
  14. I genuinely don't want to be critical of County but what is the point of having undersoil heting to combat the effects of frost if even a modest rainfall causes one of their biggest games of the season to be called off over 24 hours in advance ? It provides fuel for those based in the central belt who believe the Highlands to be unworthy of hosting SPL football and in this particular instance they may just have a point.
  15. Damn. I have no excuse now for avoiding a round of family visits tomorrow. Doubt I will manage any rescheduled midweek game.
  16. Sensible thing might be to have the inspection circa 3pm. The same time as the proposed kick off time tomorrow.
  17. As usual, IHE is talking a load of cr#p.
  18. In the old Highland League days the old simple solution would be to switch venues. Still happens in the Highland League to this day. Don't suppose such a common sense solution could possibly prevail in the SPL.
  19. Been drainage issues at Victoria Park since Highland League days.
  20. Agreed, will due respect to Laurence, he hardly set the heather on fire when he did briefly ply his trade in the SPL some time ago.
  21. I am just glad that the rate of criminality in the Highlands has fallen to such a minimal rate that the police have time to concentrate on such harmless, trivial matters.
  22. This is the first time since our elevation to the SPL that I personally have not had some lingering fear of relegation at the turn of the year. Congratulations and many thanks to Terry, Mo and all the boys. If the second half of the season is anything like as successful and entertaining as the first I will be a very contented Jaggie indeed.
  23. Jingle bells jingle bells County are a farce A well placed pass by Andrew Shinnie Has Roscoe on his ar@e
  24. IHE confessing affection for a team who dress up as Elgin. Have you been sniffing their league sponsor's product ?
  25. Not to mention a windfall of at least £400,000 if we do beat Hearts and progress to the final of the League Cup and very much increased SPL prize money if we finish in the top three or four. If this success continues turnover will be up by over a million on last year even if the crowd figures do remain frustratingly static.
