  1. That is unfair. Despite it being their first season, I would not be at all surprised if they finished in the top hakf of the table.
  2. For the benefit of those with lingering doubt; Collins Dictionary defines irony inter alia as "the humorous or mildly sarcastic use of words to imply the opposite of what they normally mean"
  3. I am not normally one to gloat but the SFL have been entirely justified in allowing the nation's newest club to enter this tournament. What a glorious run as far as the quarter finals where the plucky newcomers gave Queen Of The South a hell of a fright.
  4. Happy to take the bet Heilandee.
  5. I see that the Stephen Fletcher story is back in the spotlight with the player taking to Twitter to indicate that he is now willing to pull on a dark blue shirt again. I am no fan of Craig Levein. In my view, he is a mediocre manager and a very poor tactician. He is out of his depth as national manager and I suspect his tenure is likely to be short lived.. Fletcher, on the other hand, is a very accomplished player who is a natural goalscorer. He is head and shoulders above any other forward at our disposal notwithstanding the stalwart service given by Kenny Miller over the years. In all probability we would have taken 4 or possibly 6 points from our recent home fixtures if he had played. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the Fletcher situation is one of the few things Levein has got right. Fletcher took the trouble to make it clear directly to the national manager, albeit by text, that he did not wish to be considered for selection after being told he was not guaranteed a place in the starting eleven. It's all very well trying to manipulate the social media to suggest that he is now willing to lend his weight to that national cause but, in my view, unless and until he does the proper thing and makes it clear directly and publicly to Craig Levein that he has changed his mind about the honour of representing the country then he should remain in his self imposed wilderness even if that means the national team doing the same. What do others think ?
  6. Can I be the first to thank you and the team you support for saving us from relegation come the end of the season.
  7. Disagree. Young Fraser was Aberdeen's best player and it looked to me as though he had been singled out for rough treatment which was meeted out until he eventually had to be teken off.
  8. Would rather watch Scotland struggle against the Faroe Islands than contemplate a Team GB.
  9. Bodes well for the future.
  10. Gordon Strachan anyone ?
  11. How depressing. no realistic hope of qualification for yet another world cup. a reasonably competent squad by recent standards but a hopelessly inept manager.
  12. Surely, in the current difficut economic circumstances, the priority has to be to fill the ground with fans of whatever persuasion and thus maximise income Anyway, a roughly equal split of fans makes for a much better atmosphere.
  13. McGinn likely to be out for a few more weeks yet.
  14. All three would be welcomed by me. Unfortunately, none of them will be pulling on an ICT shirt any time soon.
  15. I am increasingly concerned about how porous and naive our defence are. In my opinion, both Tokely and Munro are much better and more reliable defenders than any ICT have fielded this season. Maybe our defence will be more composed once Hogg returns whenever that might be.
  16. True and he has his own separate thread.
  17. If it is Blackman, he was indeed once on Arsenal's books.
  18. Kingsmills replied to ferben1994's topic in Caley Thistle
Frustrating to see our defence such a shambles when Mr Tokely and Mr Munro are plying their trade so effectivively for a team who held Celtic for more than 90 minutes.
  19. You mean to say that Mr Bannerman is a unionist. Good grief, you'll be telling me he has gaps in his Procaimers music collection next and has resigned from the Tesco Drivers Appreciation Society....
  20. All for being positive and there is quite a lot to be positive about at this early stage of the season but two rushes of blood to the head in concecutive games from two of our more experienced professionals has to be a concern.
  21. We have done reasonably well in pre seasons against part time opposition and a Covenrty side three weeks behind us in terms of preparation but I fear that our lack of experience and depth will be exposed in the heat of SPL battle.
  22. Can't say I think much of the new strip.
  23. Celtic Dundee United Hearts Aberdeen Motherwell St Johnstone Kilmarnock Hibs Ross County Dundee St Mirren ICT
  24. Whatever the size of the pot, the absence of the Old Firm duopoly next season will give the other clubs an opportunity to alter the voting rights and thereafter to redistribute the cash a bit more evenly. Should mean, in the long run, an extra £100,000 or more for everyone outside the Old Firm.
  25. For the avoidance of doubt, the original post was satire. Maybe not very clever or witty satire but satire nevertheless.
