  1. Driving on the A96 between Keith and Elgin idly flicking through the radio frequencies.
  2. Much as I'd like to see Barry back at the club in some capacity we need an experienced manager right now. I'd have no problem with either Butcher or Archie Knox.
  3. I suspect so.
  4. I think it's pathetic that you automatically look to County for a replacement! Is it a pre-requisite for the majority of signings? Like the local Tesco, it's cheap and convenient ! Barrowman????????????????????? And you can generally take them back and exchange them if they're faulty.
  5. Terry Butcher strikes me as a good bet at 25-1

  7. I'd start Rooney but with an experienced striker alongside. My preference would have ben Deuchar but, as he's gone to Hamilton, Mark Burchill might not be a bad prospect until the end of the season.
  8. Charlie had a very decent assistant in Donald Park.
  9. Mikey is a competent 'keeper and I'd preferhim to stay but he would not be the most difficult player to replace should he go. One obvious choice is Derek Soutar who's only on a one year deal at County and who's probably on a par with Fraser.
  10. What else could they say just at present ?
  11. I agree.
  12. Wholly agree. It's not Brewster's fault that he was still in position until this morning. Which of you would walk out on a well paid job with no reasonable prospect of another one ?
  13. Black has signed a legally binding contract to become an employee of Heart of Midlothian Football Club in June. Both parties are obliged to honour the terms of that agrement which is, in effect, a postponed contact of employment.
  14. Timely substitutions.
  15. If, as seems to be the case from the article, the man himself is keen, then Chrlie should be interim manager. He's infinately better qualified than Graeme Bennett.
  16. A poor a piece of journalism as you're ever likely to read !
  17. I've been touting Deuchar for months as a man who could help save us from relegation. Looks like he might well be doing so for Hamilton instead.
  18. Feck me Johnboy I am in agreement with you again. WTF is going on here? I must still be sleeping. For what it's worth, I agree with you both.
  19. Not going to happen I'm afraid.
  20. The timing is very odd but I put it down to incompetence rather than some sinister conspiracy.
  21. I'm sure that Brewster did his best but it's been clear from about the middle of his tenure at Tannadice that he has little or no ability as a football manager. I couldn't understand at the time and still can't understand what persuaded the board that he would be a success second time around given just how badly he was performing at Dundee United despite having much greater resourses at his disposal. That said it cannot be nice to be sacked in such a public manner and I wish him well in whaterver he decides to do in the future. I don't blame him personally for hanging on until he was sacked as he must know in hid heart of hearts that he's most unlikely to get another chance in football management given just how poor his overall record is.
  22. I'm sure Charlie could do the job but not if it's going to prejudice his health.
  23. I wouldn't be unhappy with John Brown although I'd prefer someone with managerial experience at a higher level.
  24. We need someone with experience. Now is not the time to try and blood another rookie. My preference would be Colin Calderwood but, if he's not within our budget, Robbo would be a safe pair of hands at least on a trial basis until the end of the season although I have doubts about how Robbo would do without Donald Park.
  25. There is now more than a glimmer of hope that we can avoid relegation. Assuming he sees out the season bet we see a much more motivated player in Ian Black from now on. I can't however understand the timing, why let Brewster spend our transfer window budget on bringing in new players on what will be fairly hefty wages and then sack him a week later ? Surely the time to act was a fortnight ago when the new man would have had much more scope and time to bring in the players he thought would improve the team.
